I did something for the first time today...went to someone's home for a bulk comics deal without having a deal in place first. He had comics everywhere and buys them bulk so I decided we could probably strike a deal. He was taking boxes out of one room and I said "I can just come in there if that is okay". He said sure and first thing I saw was a comic spinner. I told him I loved it and he said "I got it recently from a store that was closing for $50." "I'll give you a hundred for it" I said and he ran over to shake my hand "deal!". He then called hiis special lady friend and she almost ruined the deal but since she was on speaker I piped up a few times. I got 2 1/2 long boxes from him just to kind of seal the deal. It has a bunch of loose part, which I tried to show a bit of in the pictures.

What should I do about those loose parts? Do you suggest tying them off as the previous owner tried or should I have a little welding done?

Awesome pickup! I have 2 of those those similar racks. For the loose bars, I sanded the joints a bit and used jb weld. I have friends who weld but the jb worked just fine.

No way could a publisher get away with this today . . . Read all the text. Be suspicious of the shape of the rocks, even.

These guys were pushing the envelope and laughing the whole way

  3. I made a deal with them around January of this year. Ive been inquiring about this  page for years, depending on which brother responded, the price would change. I’ll admit I was a bit aggravated years ago, as we agreed to a price, I sold some stuff and when the time came, price increase. I pretty much told myself F-them. But time passed on, and the page was still there, so I took a shot. Obviously the price increased, so I made an offer, art and trade. Part of the trade was 2 CGC books, which I literally had nothing invested in. To my surprise, he took the offer. He sold one book on eBay for much less than we valued it for, and the other he still hasn’t sold, but it’s 800 cheaper than what we valued it for. So a part of me giggled inside. In the end, I got the page I’ve wanted, sure it’s like dealing with a shady used car salesman, but I got something I’ve been wanting for a long time. What a crazy hobby this is
