If I had the money to overpay I might. Trade, I would trade nearly my entire collection of books and still not be able to come to a number someone would be willing to take. I still kick myself all the time because all the times I met Dave I never got him to sketch anything for me. I was just a teenager and didn't know what a sketch even was

Like I said early on, I'll let you guys fight it out for the 9.9 and 10.0 and I'll take a 9.8 any day. Congrats to the winner!

I haven't found anything lately but the last time I managed to score a lot of Dave at one time it seems like it was a pretty decent run of the Jonny Quest books. Multiples of all of them ranging from paper airplane grade to maybe 9.6. I guess we will see since I sent the second best copy in for grading. The best copy is signed

What site is it that lets you know about the estate sales?
Estatesales.net I think.
-
I sent these in for JSC to sign at MegaCon:
Did you get these back from Megacon yet?
-
I swear as soon as the 10 or so of us get done people will be going "where did everybody go?"

Ok, so the countdown begins. My books were received by CGC today

I just want one Dave OA page. Just one.

Even more books added to the Dave Stevens collection.....
And a nice copy of Back Issues is on the way.

I recently signed up for a website that lets me know when there are estate sales going on in my area and I always look through the pictures to see if there is anything I want. Well about two weeks ago I happened to see the corner of what looked like a Classic Illustrated. This was the first time I had seen a comic in any estate sales in my area for some reason so I thought sure I'll go. So I track them down in the basement and it is literally a stack of Classic Illustrated comics that are in various states going all the way back to # 3. The # 3 is a reprint because it was a 15 cent issue but I picked it up anyway and I picked up about three more, the best looking ones in the stack. Nothing better than Good condition with brown pages but at $1 a book I couldn't pass having them. Plus I think the #73 was only printed once and was the nicest of them all and might even be worth slabbing just for preservation.

So let's do the math and see how long it takes. I sent the books priority mail on Monday. They SHOULD arrive Wednesday. Lets say they get them Thursday. Are they off on Friday? If so we even give them the benefit of the doubt all the way to Monday the 25th. So the last 6 days of April, May has 31 days, and I leave for Heroes on the 2nd of June so I would need the books back by the 1st. So 6+31+1 = 38 days and the modern is suppose to take 20 days. Even two weeks late I should still get the books by the 1st

So any luck when everybody cracked those boxes on finding any sketches?
Mine was as blank as the day is long. It was the second book in, so very little suspense.
Today that is a very blank book.

No, but end of May was going to be one week late. If it's two weeks late they might get back after I get back from Heroes and that would mean I won't have anything to trade with anyone and I would be sad

Thanks! Hopefully by the end of May I will let everyone know how they came back.

Cross some fingers boys and girls I just sent in a Vanguard Illustrated # 2, a Crossfire # 12, an Alien Worlds # 4, a DNAgents # 24, and a Jonny Quest #5 to get graded along with a bunch of other stuff. I'm really hoping these come out nice to kick off my Dave Stevens slabs

I might let you do the leg work for me, you seem to have a grasp of the do's and the do not's when it comes to Dave.

I actually like that one better but I guess mine has red hair :: I won't be complaining about a quick sketch from Campbell anytime soon....
-
It was all I could do not to do a happy dance right there. ::

and here is the Gen 13 #1 Blank by Campbell with the Fairchild quick sketch:
