  1. That and the fact they have Elvis and Marilyn on them (depending on which one you were talking about specifically) so a lot of people are probably sitting on those as collectibles in for them more than comics. You just have to keep your eyes open and do your homework..... 4 Dave Stevens books for $4.99 Somebody picked it up for cheap!

  3. Old. Somebody on here has the original art to it. Go back about 15 pages or so....
  4. One that I'm curious about, how come there are not more of the Crossfire #12 slabbed? I looked last night and was really surprised. Apparently the ones that are slabbed are all awesome though. You would think a Dave Stevens cover with Marilyn Monroe would be more popular.
  5. Sorry my friend, that would be me. If I end up coming across another one, and if you're still interested I will let you have the one I bought for the same price I paid. Lets see a scan please. As requested : So close to perfect, except for that darn pencil or pen mark on the top left.
  6. rub it in, rub it in... There are still 4 of those I haven't picked up out of that compilation.
  7. Yes, I recognize the fact this will come back as a green label but I am willing to deal with that because this will not likely ever leave my collection. I basically want to protect it and since there are no Dave Stevens yellow labels I believe a green label is the only option if I want a CGC'd copy.
  8. Ok, I have a question for the boardies. I have a Sheena 3-D with the 3-D glasses that were sold with them that I have had since I picked up the comic waaaaayyy back when and it is signed by Dave. I want to send this particular book in for slabbing because it is probably the best signature of Dave's I have...(see below). So what do I do about the glasses? CGC won't slab them with the book, right? Or should I keep this beauty raw and slab the Alien Worlds instead?
  9. Sorry my friend, that would be me. If I end up coming across another one, and if you're still interested I will let you have the one I bought for the same price I paid. That's very generous and much appreciated! (thumbs u I'll keep my fingers crossed
  10. Yep, I just put in a mark amount and was going to go back and keep up with the bid at the end but got distracted by family. Maybe one day...
  11. One of the Back Issues covers came up for sale on ebay this weekend, I picked a bad time to eat dinner with the family and wound up getting outbid on it.
  12. I just picked up this same book graded 9.6 with just the Michael Turner signature. Like you said, another SS book to mark off the list of wants. Great book you've got!
  13. These things hold up a lot better than I thought they would. I've got a few of these so I might have to add them to the stack that makes it to the conventions next time!
  14. Depends on how lucky you are really...I've gone to cons before looking for back issues that I thought no one else would be looking for and sure enough somebody right in front of me has grabbed what I was looking for right out of the cheap boxes...I just take it as a sign I was meant to spend my money on something else
  15. I did a search for "dave stevens" last night just in case. A couple of things I hadn't seen in a while but nothing I had to have
  16. He told me it was all he could do not to just go down to the pizza place and grab a bunch of boxes and start selling his drawings on pizza boxes. It's a great story.
  17. Michael Dooney is an awesome individual as well as an artist. Had the pleasure of meeting him last year at Heroes and getting a Fairchild sketch from him. Did you happen to see that pizza box he did a group shot on and sold on Ebay? It was amazing!
  18. I've been seeing that book here and there on different sites. Not you typical Stevens cover. Sorta like a chalk drawing. If you have seen one of these recently let me know in PM. I'd like to track one down if possible!
  19. If it means enough to you, and you have a desired to see it slabbed, I'd submit it. Who cares about the Green Label stigma if you know personally these were really signed by DS? And I bet if those books came up for sale on the market, others would care less too. I probably will send a couple for grading, I just haven't decided how many yet. I've been going to conventions for probably nearly 20 years and I have a long box full of autographs (I should have been getting sketches in the early days instead ) I have the same issue with so many of the other books I have because I really want to preserve them for the long haul. It might be a few months but I'll post pics of hopefully quite a few Dave Stevens CGC slabs in 2011.
  20. I had a little time to go through my stuff and I have 30 different Dave Stevens books and one sketchbook off the checklist on his website. If you look at that list that is nothing! Looks like 4 autographed books as well, my favorite of which is a Jungle Comics #1 with personalization to me and his name large and in charge. I think several of these will make their way to CGC in 2011 but I wondered what everyone thought about sending one of the autographed books in for a green label? Worth it or just keep it like it is?
  21. Those Thor books are some of my all time favorites. Great additions!
  22. Now crack it and add Stan Lee! Wow, great find!
  23. I have soooo many of these yet sadly I doubt any of them would rate a 9.8 I'll just hold on to them for now and see what else needs to be slabbed.
