  1. not as good as round one but overall average They seem to get reasonably good money for their auctions from what I've observed in the way of BA/SA/GA stuff. The key book this time around was the Larson All Star 4. I made a little run at it, but wasn't willing to go all out. Very nice book, though. You are right that even though it seems crazy for someone to consign a book like that to Hake's, the hammer price seemed pretty good for the consignor. I think Rick was referring to his Megos in the previous 2 auctions..am I right? Hakes is a perfect venue for those!
  2. RM I've see you post this before and it's terrific! I will say it demands a video clip of it operating! would be so cool if you could somehow! +1, love to see it in action! Found this video What a great toy!! That's for sure. Great toy and thanks for turning up the video. The caption on the video says the toy is from the 1930s, but Robot_Man's dating to 1962 seems more plausible. RM Man is correct Yes...from the 1960s. Found the original commercial. Video quality is not great though but you get the idea

  4. Thompson? I think you are right Tony. I'm pretty sure it's not Raboy.
  5. Sounds to me like a potential lawsuit as Dan is stealing and publishing copyrighted auction results information right from you boys at the CL website. Seriously though, it would be fantastic if CL could set up some sort of archive database for their auction results going forward. Aren't the prices realized from a major auction like this a matter of public record?
  6. Great story! As a side note, if mom was only going to let you get one comic from this rack, which one would you pick? For some reason that Pep Comics seems to grab me... Venus or Captain America Cap or MM for me....but I'm also spotting that sweet Baker book in newsstand fresh condition
  7. I personally think it is a "G" for Georgie The layout seems haphazard so a teen comic could be right next to a crime book
  8. I was blown away and pleasantly surprised by how well that Romantic Marriage #24 CGC 8.0 did at auction. Unlike a lot of collectors, I really dig this cover and don't think it gets enough love. Is it too lovey-dovey or something? Or just not sexy enough? I think it has loads of character, like Teen-Age Romances #42, or Going Steady #14. I think at least two collectors other than you must have woken up to the risqué implications...apart from the eyes, it's about what's not on the cover... and notice that all of the potential clutter has been erased from their stairway to heaven, so we have nothing to distract! We look at her. She looks at him. And he looks pretty darn smug if you ask me! And I don't see a ring on his finger! Romantic Marriage
  9. +1. Robot Man always has the coolest stuff!!
  10. This photo makes the thread. Where's a flux capacitor when I need one
