  1. Goo-Gone Gel. I've had books with all three stickers on one. Always fun.
  2. You can still poof posts. I'm wondering if they will carry strikes from there to here. I'm looking at pasts posts. This site has been around for a while. It wasn't just created.
  3. Here’s an old one. Seller 54desoto sold me an unrestored Flash 123 for $500. At the post office I unpacked it, took a quick look, and dropped it into a box for grading. It came back with major restoration. I cracked it out and put it under a black light and it was very obvious. I told the seller Ed Heaton that the book came back restored. He basically told me to eat it. I filed a Paypal dispute and he fought it saying he didn’t know so he should not be held responsible. Meanwhile, when I left feedback I almost immediately was contacted by a user (this is when you could see usernames) that he sold the book to him on EBay 2 months before and he sent it back because it was restored. From what’s been said on this board, this is not the first incident like this users have had with this person. Your call on this user: 54desoto He is still selling stuff under this account May-16-2011
  4. Modern normal: 08/01/2014 Received. That was 45 Days ago. If they grade them 10s I will forgive them.
  5. No worries man. On the cgc 8.5, I'd be setting the over/under higher than $55-65. But I guess we'll see. This might be a nice copy to get into before the coming explosions truly materialize. How has that new TV show done in the ratings, anyone know? Cheers Joey Cream will hurt it a little. The Pedigree will bump it. You don't see 8.5s around too often and prices for keys have been a little nuts since June. I know of only one other one in 8.5 and now this one. I would be surprised if it broke 70k if you get two bidders that "have to have it". I think we'll see it in the mid 60's at least, but I'm still betting on low 70s. The PQ thing really needs to be addressed at CGC I just got a book that was OW back CR/OW - so who really believes what the label says - and is it really gonna hurt a gorgeous book like this? I think that us DCers have come to accept the CR/OW as something that isn't that big a deal. At least not so critical that it'd hurt such a gorgeous book. But I suppose if it had white pages, we'd all be gushing over that - including me, If CGC is so inconsistent with the PQ.... Well.... I don't understand WHY It's a simple as having a ruler type graduated grey scale stick and matching the color of the comic to your gauge. How hard is that? This is like having a 5 year old point out red, blue, and green on a wall. Another method would be 0-255 where 0 is black and 255 is white. Point a little meter at the paper and boom! You get a number. Let's say your number is 235. That would be a PQ of (1-100) 92 (I think, I'm doing this in my head). 92 would be ow/w (?). At least there would be some type of standard consistency. What do I know. This is the only company where the customer is always wrong.

  7. David Lynch is a great director. He also did some music which pops out if you’re into weird stuff: Jocelyn Montgomery album Lux Vivens. The woman that sang this has a voice that produced a perfect pitch without any editing. Twin Peaks is still great, but dated. Eraserhead I was never obliterated enough to watch it. It’s like seeing Pink Floyd the Wall straight. For others who are into Blade Runner, you guys do realize that Rick Deckard was a replicant; right?
  8. no Now, get us the highest privately sold record price. that's upto the buyer to reveal if he so determines Wow, over 66K is a strong price...must be a real nice copy. You are da-man! The best 7.5 is owned by Rich. My avatar is that book's splash page. And congrats to the new owner of the 66k 7.5....whomever they are. (thumbs u I can confirm it's a boardie.
  9. Prometheus worked better than my Xanax, Trazodone, Clonidine, Seroquel, and Jack Daniels combined. Blade Runner was awesome!
  10. You guys do realize a post poofed last night. For those who saw it, it was referring to an auction by another company that slabs books and had slabbed a SC4. I don't know if the OP was trying to poke at CGC, but I would be curious if unlike PGX it would fetch an amount equal to the most popular grading company.
  11. Ballparks were right on for this: around 4k. For a 2.0, that's a huge swing from $1500 in 2012. Is it the series, the joint movie that's driving this, or people just want it?
  12. It was part of the Don and Maggie Thompson Collection via COA rather than CGC. I think you'll see more people bidding up the lower end copies because in 99% of the cases, people just don't have 35k to drop on a book. Then you'll have someone paying 300+k on a Hulk 1 which is a house! For me it was a painful purchase, but I liked the book. I only know of a few out there in 7.5 or higher and even those 8 and 8.5's don't have the wrap mine has so I took the shot and was surprised I got it at auction. A lot of lookers and email low ballers on EBay ($10k). One buyer was very aggressive at his 10k offer because it was fair and would not stop harassing me. I'm keeping it. People know I have it. If someone wants it, they know where to look We have the Flash and Green Lantern movie too, but I don't think anything will ever resurrect the GL. However, did you see the last copy of GL7 in 9.4 sell for 11k?!?! I picked up a 9.2 3-weeks earlier for $2500. Once again, I just bought it because I liked it.
  13. I just pulled my 7.5 from EBay. I want to see where this 2.0 lands. This book can hit 5k?!?!
  14. It's a 9.2! That's actually better than some of the "best offers" I had on my 9.8 before I took it down.
  15. Shilltastic That guy is a boardie with the same handle. The seller doesn't have to be in cahoots with the shill bidder. Sellers are the victims of shill bidding all the time, with bids made by other sellers who have an interest in seeing the perceived market price of the auctioned book going up in price. That two feedback bidder very likely has slabbed copies of the same book he is trying to get rid of. Its in the best interest of sellers to cancel bids from low feedback buyers on more sought after books. Even if the seller himself isn't guilty of shilling, their is a perception that he is by the more informed eBay buyers, who will take the opportunity to avoid bidding on a book that has a string of bids. or numerous retaliatory bids, from a low feedback bidder. No, I never said the seller was shilling if it was interpreted that way. I was seeing the same stuff on some of my auctions. Low feedback bidders pumping up prices. What they did is lock out legit buyers. Another practice I've seen is someone bids at 60% FMV and then a shill bids 150% and never pays. Oddly, the under-bidder was at 140%. Are they expecting a second change offer at their bid of 60% once the higher bid is removed? Now EBay wants everything to be in auction style? I don't think so....
  16. Shilltastic That guy is a boardie with the same handle. If that goes for $1200 I am selling my WD1, 2, 19, and 27 9.8 and getting a nice silver. That's an insane price for that book. For that price, it's time for me to sell.
  17. Shilltastic I ran a bunch of auctions this week. A lot of 2 feedback bidders pumping up prices and the ones that won are not paying. I'm not shilling so what the hell is going on? I this part of the hack? Is it to screw with EBay and not so much profit from the information they stole?
  18. I'm very confused: WD 27 CGC 9.8 over 1k and Climbing
  19. My prediction, based on pre-TV series pricing and its peak. TWD 1 9.8 will settle as a $900 book. There are around 600 9.8's. It's NOT a rare book. I think there are just as many 9.6s. After the show is cancelled it will show a sharp drop over the first 3-months, then gradual upswing (recovery because it's oversold) for 6-months, then downtrend again to around $750. Finally, it will settle between $800-$1000 depending on the buyer after 3 years. It's also very possible that TWD 2 will be a higher priced book for some time than #1. Just my 2 cents after looking how hot stocks have acted over the last 20 years.
