  1. Are the pages under it missing paper too? Kinda looks like it in the pic. Looks like a bug chew from here. Post a pic with the back cover opened.
  2. I have a threshold of $200 value on older books, and $100 value on moderns. Below that, it is difficult to justify the costs. Agreed, ebay "sold" prices are a real good place to start. Note that most ebay sellers seriously overgrade, look at the pictures to compare to yours.
  3. First submissions can be eye opening. I still have never gotten a 9.8. This includes books I bought off the rack and boarded/bagged in the 80's. Even though they look perfect, they tend to come back 9.4 with an occasional 9.2 or 9.6. Judging 9.8's is an art that escapes me. I can usually nail the grade on anything 9.0 or below.
  4. House of Secrets 92 CGC 7.5 $1500 Note, has rusty staples, would probably be a 9.0 without them.
  5. I have a 3 slabs for sale, the first 2 are fresh back from CGC, the last is an undercopy that I have upgraded. None have been pressed. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First in thread prevails despite ongoing negotiations. If we agree on a price per PM, the buyer must post the first in thread. If you want anonymity, let me know, and I can mark it sold, unless someone has already spoken for it. Buyers of ill repute are encouraged to move on. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shipping - Priority US shipping will be at my cost. Packaging - All orders will ship boxed. Returns - I can't imagine why someone would want to return one of these fine graded books, but if there is a problem, I'm sure we can work it out. Payment - Paypal only please Discussion in the thread is encouraged.
  6. I agree. The way the top is "fanned" but the bottom is not indicates a problem, they should correspond.. Note, you can't ever compare to other books on wrap, sizing, etc. There was too much variation in the the manufacturing process. This book has a pretty serious miscut, but that has nothing to do with whether it is trimmed or not. Interesting Harlan Ellison provenance btw.
  7. The fake scratches on those things make me cringe.
  8. Double covers tend to pleasantly surprise. I am going 9.4
  9. I'd be mighty tempted to warm it up with a heat gun and see if I could lift a corner with an exacto knife, but I like to live on the edge. Don't try this at home, your results may vary.
  10. Maybe it's time to pull these out of my dollar box? I had no idea.
  11. Halfs are kinda wimpy I have used thousands of 775/750 M2/FB combos. Never had a problem.
  12. Bonus Book Fantastic Four KS #6 Good+ (2.5) Maybe a little better. Covers firmly attached $50 SOLD
