[CLOSED] FF 2 -13 All Raw
Tempus Fugit replied to Tempus Fugit's topic in Golden/Silver/Bronze Age Only
Fantastic Four #3 SOLD Costumes, Fantasticar, etc. Good 2.0 - Note that this book has a very wrinkled front cover, that for the most part does not break color. I think this one has major potential for improvement. You results may vary. $400 SOLD -

Hello, I have elected to part with my FF collection. 30 years in the making, and continuously upgraded over that time. The #1 has already sold recently on this very forum. This sale will be for numbers 2-12. So, without further ado: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First in thread prevails despite ongoing negotiations. If we agree on a price per PM, the buyer must post the first in thread. If you want anonymity, let me know, and I can mark it sold, unless someone has already spoken for it. Buyers of ill repute are encouraged to move on. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shipping - Priority US shipping will be at my cost. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Packaging - All orders will ship double boxed. All books are in Mylite 2's with fullbacks. I grade conservatively to avoid disappointments and delight buyers. Any problem with a book that slips under my radar can be returned at my cost. Payment - Paypal only please Discussion in the thread is encouraged.

Sold per PM -
Well, All good things must come to an end. The time has come for me to sell the cornerstone of my collection. This is a book on the rise and I think its sale represents a win/win for both buyer and seller. I have "curated: this book for almost 4 years, and it will be missed, but it is time for it to bring joy to its next curator. This book appears to have never been cleaned or pressed. Priced fairly and well below GPA at $10,500 Paypal is cool, but please don't look for much in the way of discounts, PP, shipping and insurance on this one will be around $500, that's all on me. I'll cover secure shipping, etc, etc. If we can do a local deal, there may be a small amount of flexibility on price. I am in SW Michigan. No Probies, HOSers etc. Please don't embarrass yourself by making a low-ball offer, the ask is very fair.. thanks for looking. TF

Yes, we like to throw the term "grail" around. But there is only 1 in reality. This is a true grail. Any guesses what that 10 pages of OA would sell for? Million a page maybe? -

How much can a 1/2 " tear affect the grade?

Wow, That's like 3X what I paid for my 3.5 three years ago. At some point I wonder whether to sell off my 1-108 run. 30 years in the making/upgrading. But then I wonder why 1 should be worth less than IH 1 and AF 15. The answer vs AF15 is kind of obvious, but passing IH 1 is definitely possible (likely?). I think 4 is the sleeper. Have not seen any sign of Namor in the MCU. I think that book could explode and possibly surpass 5. No I do not have one for sale. Thus the beauty of run collecting, even though it's passe. When you have them all, you can just kick back and watch the keys emerge. A lost art unfortunately.

Cardboard Mailers like Gemini Supply
Tempus Fugit replied to fastballspecial's topic in Comics General
All I can say is Uline S-164. I have shipped over 300 of them, just wrap bagged boarded comics in a couple plastic grocery bags to cushion them. Every "comic" mailer I have seen was very "chintzy". The Uline ones are heavy cardboard. I always get rave reviews on packaging, no extra cardboard required. I can pack and label in about 3 minutes. Ship up to 3-4 books and keep it under 16oz for 1st class. Usually $3.18 I have never had a single occurrence of damage or complaint. Also works great as an inner box for a priority box shipment of high end books. -
Was considering insurance. I shipped a 6K book registered to NY with Ins and I think it was around 70, maybe my memory is incorrect. Anyway - we are debating .5% to 1% of the sale as a shipping cost, which does not seem like a big deal in either case. OP - Care to share a link to the auction?

Shipping Fail. At that level I am shipping Certified, insured with sig. I am happy to eat the $75-100 or so on a $6K buy. So this dude spent like $6. Really? I am a thrifty fellow, but there is a point where it just gets stupid and risky. I am sure it will turn out fine, just really poor decision making on the part of the seller

Strange Tales Collecting Thread !
Tempus Fugit replied to Frederic9494's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
Just pulled a nice one from my sale box and put into my keeper box. Need to go check my sale box at the antique mall, might have another one there. Bonus edit: Found another copy at the antique mall. Good tip! -
Hello, I recently had a chance to seriously upgrade my FF collection. Offered for sale are 2 CGC Gradedi key issues. These have not been pressed. Thanks to Senior Surfer I now have a link to my kudos thread: So, without further ado: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First in thread prevails despite ongoing negotiations. If we agree on a price per PM, the buyer must post the first in thread. Buyers of ill repute are encouraged to move on. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shipping - I have elected not to turn shipping into a profit center. I generally lose a few bucks, and I am OK with that. All orders over $100 ship free (US), all orders under $100 (US) ship for $5, any quantity of books, First class or priority depending on weight. Outside US, let's talk about it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Packaging - All orders are shipped in a new box, typically the awesome-for-comics Uline S-164, I pay around $.75 each for these. I grade conservatively to avoid disappointments and delight buyers. Any problem with a book that slips under my radar can be returned at my cost. Payment - Paypal only please Discussion in the thread is encouraged.

Why wouldn't you take offers? I look at ebay like doing a show, and of course I am open to offers at shows. Many people (myself) just don't want to pay asking price. I would guess that 1/3 of my ebay books go for an offer, and it's often just a few dollars off. Not telling you people how to run your sales, just sayin'
