  1. Thank you, Mike. Is there any thought into why these books in particular have 'had repeated issues'?
  2. Scrolled through the thread as I didn't want to post duplicates. These books from my personal collection fit (currently) within the parameters. Black Hole #1 signed by Charles Burns Game of Thrones #1 Retailer Incentive Variant signed by George R.R. Martin Scott Pilgrim: Full-Colour Odds & Ends signed by Bryan Lee O'Malley
  3. Thanks, Mike. Look forward to the results of the inquiry. UPS just delivered mine and I couldn't believe CGC would knowingly ship an exclusive product out (with their name on it) in this condition.
  4. Alan Moore's Yuggoth Cultures and Other Growths #1 signed by Alan Moore purchased already signed / graded in 2021 Truth be told, I have no idea what this comic is about. It was purchased for the sole reason of owning an "Alan Moore Signature Series comic". Alan Moore comics will be featured multiple times in my collection. There is a Alan Moore mini-collection within this overall collection. #collectception
  5. I'm going to take an opportunity about once a week to post a book from my personal collection. I'll try to share the when, where, and why each book was chosen. (this all depends on if I can remember or not...) My ever-evolving personal collection consists of 49 CGC slabs (38 Signature Series / 11 Universal) and 1 raw book. Once CGC grades treasury sized books it'll be a solid 50 CGC'd. Why 50? It is the number of books that easily fits into two short boxes. Just enough to grab in case of an emergency or not take up too much room in the car. Why ever-evolving? I read a post many moons ago on these boards about ensuring that the handling of your collection was easy on your family when you pass away. In it, someone mentioned selling 10% of your books per year once turning 40-years-old. They also stressed to continuously refine your books down to a Top 10 that would be easy for your family to liquidate upon death. Over the past 5 years I have reduced my collection from 34 short boxes down to 16 boxes through donation, selling, and recycling efforts. 8 short boxes of raw comics to be graded 6 short boxes of CGC'd comics to be sold via eBay 2 short boxes of personal collection As books are sold throughout the year money gets set aside to reinvest into / 'improve' the personal collection. If a new book is purchased with the intent to add it to the personal collection (aka not a 'flip') then a book has to be taken out 'to make space'. To provide a clearer understanding, in 2022 I removed the following comics from my personal collection to allow new books to join: All-Star Superman #1 German Edition 9.6 signed by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely Avengers #4 1.0 That is all to say that at some point some of the books featured in this thread will not make the cut going in to the next year. (I will edit posts when a book has transitioned out of the collection)
  6. @CGC Mike Is there any way to get an official word from CGC regarding this scuffing? In reviewing all available copies on eBay too it seems to be a consistent issue.
  7. Curious about Saga #1 RRP 9.8 not being included. It has dropped from previous heights, but even with that drop the most recent auction ended at over $3300. Which would place it just under your #16 listing.
  8. My Mechanical Error was delivered today. 42 business days total for a label error.
  9. My Mechanical Error was delivered today. 42 business days total for a label error.
  10. For months it has been people preselling their presales back-and-forth on eBay. Wait until there are some unhappy people not getting their copy in a few weeks.
  11. Movement...finally... Paul Dini Signing Event Submission - LABEL ERROR Shipped 11/1 Delivered 11/2 (1 business day later) Scheduled for Grading 11/17 (11 business days later) Grading / QC 1/4 (28 business days later / 40 business days so far)

  13. Wolverine #145 Nabisco Variant signed by Bill Sienkiewicz Purchased already signed / graded in 2021. Not much of a story. Purchased this using monies from various eBay sales. Love the cover and the artistry of the signature. Watched the auction and threw in a bid with seconds to spare. It was on my radar, but not a book I actively hunted. It has appreciated in FMV 37.25% since I bought it late last year. It also has an unwitnessed signature from Stan Lee on the black of the case. I'd like to get it reholdered, but not sure it is a strong 9.6 / worth it.
  14. I continue to believe (due to what I have experienced) that CGC prioritizes new income versus correcting their errors. Someone posted the following on Monday in the current turnaround thread... https://boards.cgccomics.com/topic/262409-current-turn-around-rates-at-cgc/?do=findComment&comment=12629306 11/29/22: Shipped 12/5/22: Received by CGC 12/12/22: G/E/I 12/16/22: G/QC 12/19/22: Shipped by CGC 12/26/22: Received
  15. Apologies in advance if this is a topic you don't want to broach, but what made you decide to sell the collection? I am always fascinated by the dedication to complete a top ranking goal / achievement and then walk away from aforementioned top ranking goal / achievement.
  16. Thank you. Yes, I believe that 39 of the 50 being Signature Series helped to an extent. It could have all been Christmas shopping for loved ones. Honestly, I'd love for one of the Signature Series Milestone X-men #1s currently on eBay to sell at auction to determine FMV. That would help with my collectible insurance appraisal at least. (again the asking prices are bananas) For those that are worried about the bottom falling out. In comparing the 'values' of the 36 books that have remained consistent since I began tracking in 2019 I found the following: The collective value* of those 36 books are up 54.53%, even with the COVID 'drop' in the market. *again, 4 key books have had no comp data since 2019
  17. Wolverine #102.5 signed by Julie Bell, Dan Slott, and Boris Vallejo Purchased raw in 2011. This book was part of the same large collection that yielded my New Mutants #98 9.6. I never knew this particular book existed. Saw Julie and Boris were attending a show and figured it would be cool to have their signatures. Then I got the hairbrained idea to add Dan Slott who was also there. (If I could do it over I would not add Dan Slott) That's the story. It exists in my personal collection because it is an oddball book with an awesome cover.
  18. My recently submitted (and CLEARLY labeled) Mechanical Error took 11 business days to be marked as received after it was delivered. It has been 'Scheduled for Grading' for 26 business days. CGC has had the book to correct their error regarding a label for 37 business days and counting... Shipped 11/1 Delivered 11/2 (1 business day later / 1 day total) Scheduled for Grading 11/17 (11 business days later / 12 days total) Some claims were made by @CGC Mike that Mechanical Errors were expedited, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all. (see below link to a post yesterday with slow track modern with 12 business day turnaround) Also, check out this thread.
  19. Only one comic related purchase this year. Marvel's Avengers #1 signed by Robert Downey Jr.

  21. AND then once your ME makes it to CGC be prepared for it to languish for days, weeks, and months... Why? I don't know. FACTS My recently submitted (and CLEARLY labeled) Mechanical Error took 11 business days to be marked as received after it was delivered. It has been 'Scheduled for Grading' for 21 business days. Meaning CGC has been correcting their error for 32 business days and counting... edit for context: They need to correct the label
  22. Watchmen #1 signed by Dave Gibbons Purchased already signed / graded in 2021. This is (currently) the last book in my Alan Moore collection my overall collection. I've got my eyes on one more, but it isn't prudent. There's nothing I can add to the conversation about this series that hasn't been shared before. It is a masterpiece.
  23. Day 26 (of 38 total) of my Mechanical Error from the Paul Dini signing being stuck at Scheduled for Grading...
