  1. Sandman #1 Signed and Sketched by Neil Gaiman - Top 10 Book Purchased already signed / graded in 2014. Not much of a story. Bid on this book at the last second on eBay. At the time this was my most expensive comic purchase ($500 shipped). My mind was blown when I opened the package, as the original listing did not have a sketch in the photo. I reached out to the seller about whether they wanted it back. They said to keep and enjoy it. I tried getting my Sandman #8 9.6 signed at one point, but gave up. Eventually I sold it (along with all other Sandman items besides my #1) when the Sandman TV show came out... I wasn't a fan of the show as it looked 'too plastic' / 'shot on video'.
  2. Anyone have any photo covers that they would recommend for Hugh Jackman (as Wolverine)? I don't have any on hand nor know what it is out there. A quick eBay search returned some that weren't in that great of condition.
  3. ASM #300 2020/21 average was ALL spec on Venom joining the MCU proper and being in The Sinister Six for SM:NWH. The rumors and then the end credit scene in Venom 2 helped this. The same can be said about Ultimate Fallout #4. That life cycle WAS cranking with a video game in 2020 into SM:NWH rumors in 2021 into nothing... Check the prices from the beginning of the year to now.
  4. Continued tracking of my 50 piece personal collection's value for insurance purposes. I am utilizing eBay sold items (with auctions taking priority over buy-it-now) to determine FMV. January to February .40% increase February to March 2.05% increase March to April 4.07% decrease April to May 1.14% decrease May to June .01% decrease June to July 1.83% decrease July to August 3.15% decrease August to September 7.01% decrease September to October 1.68% increase
  5. 100% this. I recall an amazing (IMHO) boardee named Branget once referenced the quote "You sell the sizzle, not the steak" when explaining the cycle of selling spec books. Most are selling to people that hope to sell to others that hope to sell to others... (aka the greater fool theory)
  6. Saga #1 Diamond Retailer Representative Program (RRP) Variant signed by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples - Top 10 Book Sketches on back by Fiona Staples Purchased already signed / graded in 2020. At one point in time I owned (2) 9.8 Signature Series (BKV only) copies of this book. Both copies were purchased for $75 raw via eBay the weekend they were given away. Eventually, I sold both 9.8s to make ends meet. I know one was sold to buy a gift for someone. Due to the cost, I swore to myself that if I ever replaced one then it would have to have sketches as well as dual signatures. This copy eventually popped up on eBay. I was SO in to Saga at the beginning. Somewhere along the line I stopped reading it. I think I'll try to go back once it is all wrapped up...
  7. Was going to post this in Comics General but after the last Alan Moore thread got booted I figured it was better suited here. “I’m definitely done with comics,” he says. “I haven’t written one for getting on for five years. I will always love and adore the comics medium but the comics industry and all of the stuff attached to it just became unbearable.” https://www.theguardian.com/books/2022/oct/07/watchmen-author-alan-moore-im-definitely-done-with-comics
  8. Princess Leia #1 signed by Carrie Fisher and Mark Brooks Purchased already signed / graded in 2021. Not much of a story here. I wanted to work on a Signature Series Star Wars mini-collection within my overall collection. Truthfully, I jumped at the first copy I could afford. Now that I have owned it for a while the fact that the Carrie Fisher signature is in black sharpie over a dark image bothers me. A lot.
  9. Recently updated myslabbedcomics profile and realized I never posted this. Purchased last year. Signed by Carrie Fisher...in black on top of the cover image...
  10. One of my most prized comic-related items that rarely gets to be shown off. The Devil Puppet puppet by Evan Dorkin and handmade by his partner Sarah Dyer. Not too many exist.
  11. Thank you. I've never participated in a CGC in-house signing before so I was wondering.
  12. Any word when the signing will occur? I know it was mentioned as 9/30, but then the hurricane went through the west coast of FL. Thank you in advance.
  13. Parker: A Portfolio of Words and Pictures #2 signed by Darwyn Cooke Purchased raw in 2012. First and foremost, Darwyn Cooke was a master of his craft. His life was cut tragically short by cancer. I chose this book to be signed by him because I felt with the Parker series he was allowed to push the medium further than his D.C. Comics work. This is the only signed copy of this book.
  14. CGC's 2nd limited to 300 exclusive continues to be hot. https://www.ebay.com/itm/225170390889?hash=item346d337f69%3Ag%3AmaAAAOSw0NNjKRPs&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoC5yMpy4I92zRLY4UtYRIST0mCwK1dlK7jVZFYrFj59Y1G0VkwLnPjwFzKrNhEuX5Y7bGPNxNd9pFmaFkuEbQVqhMb24dCTSp8EFDxcxjI08WF3CN%2BZLI4yhpzQTldmLd2O3VbUV%2FvYo3wucBATKlO6axo1vc%2BGW%2FJqtGajlYnpl9mHF67OvjiRW5Garuo50Z4D6DsacUjchTnztc8c19rM%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR4b5merxYA&nma=true&si=rAogUd3ddJH3FTMPETIMzrUzhGk%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  15. The first two were part of my TG registry set when I was competing. (still have them somewhere...) The third is part of my personal collection.
  16. $1160 https://www.ebay.com/itm/225170390889?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D5a08d4b3374b488da986db36e0e9958a%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D225170390889%26itm%3D225170390889%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A4c0eed65-4063-11ed-8b1c-1afcbedd3f39|parentrq%3A8c1d4cc71830a44cf411a2b2fffbda7e|iid%3A1&autorefresh=true
  17. Thank you for the update. I have a submission at CGC and placed an order with you via the website.
  18. New Mutants #98 Purchased raw in 2011. This book and one other (Wolverine #102.5) were part of a large collection I purchased in 2011. The story isn't exciting beyond that it was a great deal, the guy wanted cash, and he needed it fast. He was getting a divorce and wanted to sell the entire thing in one shot versus have to split everything. I was the first to respond and he held the books until my next day off from work. That's it. I have owned multiple copies of this book throughout the years. My first copy was purchased at Bam! Comics in North Miami for cover price shortly after X-Force #1 was released. The reason? I was hunting down Liefeld Cable books. I took the books to the counter and what occurred was not good. Typical comic store employees start dumping on Liefeld for his art skill and me for liking his style. (Yes, I am in the future and realize they were right...but you don't do that to a young kid / customer) That copy ended up being thrown out all (but one short box of) comics in 2002. Why? Because I wanted room to put up a DVD stand. Yes, I threw out two long boxes of comics to put a DVD stand up. Flash forward 15 years and those DVDs ended up at Goodwill. The circle of media... That's my New Mutants #98 story.
  19. I purchased this copy raw many moons ago to be signed / graded alongside my copy of Parker: A Portfolio of Words and Pictures #2. For some reason I didn't think this copy would grade well. Now, over ten years after my decision CGC has proven me wrong. "Regrets...I've had a few..."
  20. Just arrived back from CGC...the battle the world was waiting for...
