I received an e-mail from the Marketing manager.

Regarding the Marvel labels:  The marketing team has been really busy.  You guys should hear some news regarding this in the next week or so.

The FCBD labels are now available on the OSF. There is no charge for these, and they are available for Universal and Sig. Also, they must be an FCBD book to qualify for the label. If you see someone stating their book isn't showing up, let me know - we pulled the most accurate list we had but we may have missed adding a few in.

    Tomorrow will be 3 weeks.
Any way to reach out to them?
I'm holding back submitting stuff just in case custom labels get announced.

    Such a great conversation.
An aside, David was SO good in Beef.

I'm not surprised to see something like this happen, any business is vulnerable to people trying to pull a scam one way or another.

HOWEVER, that's why you put safeguards in place.  And the biggest safeguard CGC had was a strict policy on employees not being able to deal in CGC graded books at all.  Once they opened that door, and I'm not sure when that was, they essentially invited someone to come do something like this.  If there is anything I would want to see come out of this, it's that CGC employees are unable to buy, sell, or submit to CGC with no exceptions.

I agree, but also know people will find a way.
For example, in college I worked for a major toy store no longer in business.
I collected comics / cards / toys and was active on eBay.
I was able to get ALL the HTF hot toys before they hit the shelf with my discount.
    That was within our rules.
*I* never sold any of the items as that was against the rules.
What I did do was trade at my LCS or have my partner list the items using their eBay username.
Largest ROI were Hot Wheels...and Tickle Me Elmos.
Where there are low wage jobs with strict rules, there is someone 'following the rules' but to their fiscal benefit.

There isn't one.  None are designed for CGC cases that I have ever seen.  My guess is the demand for that size is so low as to not be worth producing.

    Thank you.

Thank you. Added to my wish list. Going to reach out to the seller regarding the UV protection rating on these bags. Appreciate it.

What I have made very clear is that this lawsuit is the result of CGC not being able to be successful with Plan A (working it out privately), so filing a lawsuit (YESTERDAY) was a necessary evil:  someone in  house spilled the beans, so it had to be done for no other reason than to be able to say you did in the next lawsuit.

    This take is accurate.
Having worked a long time for a company that deals with internal theft on many levels, reaching a lawsuit is utilized in setting a precedent for all current and future employees. There is a greater than zero chance CGC hasn't encountered 'shenanigans' previously that were handled in-house.

  6. Submitted my Bruce Timm SS copy of Batman: Mad Love in for the Paul Dini signing.
I got the book back (with the original label included in the package) without Bruce Timm mentioned on the new label.
CGC Mike messaged me and we handled it quickly.
I then had to wait 40 business days to get my corrected book back.
Only good news was that I had CGC press it and it got the grade bump...

  7. Question for the hive mind.

Has any customer of CIS ever received a 'free appraisal' response from Metropolis Comics?
If so, were you happy with their appraisal?
(I've emailed them a few times over the past year and never heard back)

Recently, I decided to list some 'rare' books (with no sales for years...) on eBay with BIN prices that are WAY above FMV.
(my way of trying to get an estimate on insurance coverage value since I can't seem to get ahold of Metropolis)

Someone made me a a strong offer in the low 5 digits for one book and I now want to insure it for that value, but CIS recommends an estimate from Metropolis Comics...
    Rinse meet repeat.

    Thank you in advance.
