  1. Yeah...something has always been fishy with the way the Alex Ross 'virgin' cover is recorded in census... Check out my copy signed by GRRM many moons ago.
  2. Apologies in advance as I don't have access to track this info myself, but was wondering if anyone has historical tracking of key comics across multiple ages. Namely mid-2006 to mid-2012. I'd like to know what, if any, percentage drop (and recovery) occurred as a result of the 2008 financial crisis. Preferably not keys that could be tied to movie or TV show hype or speculation during that timeframe. Preparing and planning to "buy the dip" just in case there is market contagion as a result of the Evergrande situation overseas.
  3. Since I haven't added any new slabs to my 50 item PC it has been easy to track YTD growth. I am utilizing eBay sold items to determine their FMV. Jan to September 29.52% increase January to February .39% increase February to March 6.98% increase March to April 11.77% increase April to May 7.21% increase May to June 2.46% increase June to July .72% increase July to August 3.69% decrease August to September 1.19% increase
  4. Both copies on the census are mine. 2nd rarest TG comic (Kickstarter exclusive) after Atom Tan #1 (their 1st Appearance limited to only 200 copies). re: Atom Tan #1 - I really wish CGC would grade treasury-sized books...
  5. This one is for all The Flaming Lips fans. Both copies on census are mine.
  6. Oh snap...that reminds me...one of only 5 graded and the only 9.8 SS...
  7. For anyone else interested, I finally answered my own question as I unwrapped my softcovers in preparation to submit them to CGC. Indicia in the Nocterra Kickstarter softcover states December 2020 Indicia in Nocterra #1 states March 2021 Recently Sold Previews Catalog with Nocterra is from January 2021 https://www.ebay.com/itm/144182660241?hash=item2191f4cc91:g:dbAAAOSwNUNhMQ87
  8. I've asked this before, but which is the true 1st appearance: the Kickstarter Softcover (approx 5000 printed) or #1 released by Image? I know I had the softcover in-hand before #1 hit the LCS, but don't see any graded yet. Might be time to test the waters...
  9. In reviewing my personal collection's value month-by-month I have recorded my first decrease this year occurring between 7/15 and 8/15. Since I haven't added any new slabs to my 50 item PC it has been easy to track YTD growth. I am utilizing eBay sold items to determine their FMV. Jan to August 27.92% increase January to February .39% increase February to March 6.98% increase March to April 11.77% increase April to May 7.21% increase May to June 2.46% increase June to July .72% increase July to August 3.69% decrease
  10. In reviewing my personal collection's value month-by-month I have noticed a slowdown this past month. Since I haven't added any new slabs to my 50 item PC it has been easy to track YTD growth. I am utilizing eBay sold items to determine their FMV. Jan to July 32.81% increase January to February .39% increase February to March 6.98% increase March to April 11.77% increase April to May 7.21% increase May to June 2.46% increase June to July .72% increase
  11. Top 5 currently in alphabetical order: Charles Burns Jamie Hewlett Dave McKean Bryan Lee O'Malley Adrian Tomine
  12. The TAT situation they are in currently is way worse than con season in non-pandemic years. Honestly, all these signing should be handled like on-site grading was. There should be a cap to the total number of books for the signing (whatever on-site was capped at) and the work should be completed within a week. There should only be one signing every other month, like on-site wasn't available at every convention. You can get a pair of creators together, but the total cap still remains the same for the entire signing not per creator. Also, as per Jim Lee, the older board members will remember the fiasco of the private sketch option where he claimed there would be no personalization and then changed his mind. Then getting a $600 (yep, that's what the sketch price was before) refund from Jim Lee was like pulling teeth. Yep, the guy that was running DC took months to refund people (speaking from personal experience) $600. I always wondered why...anyone know?
  13. 14. Very true. Primarily I see an uplift in new car, truck, boat, and home sales (which may help soften the bubble pop) from the gains. I then see an uplift in high-grade video games, MTG cards, Pokemon cards, comics, and comics art prices as a way to 'invest' in commodities. The reason for my opinion is that there is a vocal portion online that openly state / pledge that they will not be reinvesting their new monies into the U.S. stock markets after this if those hedge funds / banks that put the markets in this position get a bailout (again). Again, this is all theory at this time, and remind me in 6 months.
  15. I do agree that home and various investments will suffer as a result of a MOASS / hedge fund / bank meltdown. After 2008 there was a drop in comic pricing but it quickly recovered by 2010. (in my opinion due to The Walking Dead hype leading into general Image Comics spec) Those comic collectibles with little historical value (for example, whatever hot this week 1:100 variant cover is or first appearance of new batman bad guy) will suffer the most. Yes, in theory, if MOASS occurs I foresee new millionaires battling it out for grail / high grade collectibles. Who wouldn't want to own an all time classic cover (ASM 300 or DKR 1 for me) for a million dollars over the last sale if those new millions, again in theory, cost you just two shares of [insert name here] stock original purchased at $XXX dollars?
  16. Possible counterpoint (aka Remind Me! 6 Months...) IF a certain stock has a catalyst that causes the MOASS then I expect all high-grade collectibles to hit all time highs in bidding wars between new (multi)millionaires.
  17. So...never posted this as the series never took off...but recently checked the census due to the Netflix news and it turns out it is the lone signed copy. Signed by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons.

  19. Not the same volume / series everyone is posting about BUT it is a Batman Beyond #1...and a variant to boot...
