  3. Thank you. The HOS 92 was purchased raw many years ago at a store that was selling fill a half box for $35. After digging through SO many long boxes of drek I ended up finding a couple of overlooked books including that one. I completely agree re: Ross. He is a master. Thought about it, but decided I will not be getting Margot Robbie as I generally steer clear of actors. (and I already have a Lori Petty SS Tank Girl book)
  4. Just like someone else I decided Signature Series... 6. Besides owning the covers below...I have a fat stack of #1s and their variants ready and waiting.
  7. When GotG 1 came out some low feedback seller reused the photo of my CGC Marvel Preview 7. Messaged them. They were flippant. Contacted eBay. Listing removed. Added to blocked buyers to protect myself from future retaliation. Checked back via messages a week later, and the seller was deleted.
  8. Large heavy duty bags. We rake them together. Well...he basically moves the leaves around into 'piles' using his adult sized rake. Afterward someone holds the bag and someone fills it. (we alternate) Always making sure he can carry the bag to the trash. He know enough to not just grab into piles of leaves due to garden snakes, so they always 'bash' the piles with the rake first. Just trying to teach simple skills. He also 'helps' with mowing and watering the lawn by directing me to areas that need help. He also helps with packaging eBay sales by being the packing peanut person or helping me decide which books to sell / keep. Honestly speaking, I would have never thought to buy / invest in an Ultimate Fallout #4 back in 2019 had he not asked to be Miles Morales for Halloween and told me Miles is his favorite Spider-Man. So now I kinda of use him as a gauge for what could be the next generation's superheroes.
  9. Child is in preschool. If I don't care about the item anymore (opened toy / small statue / low value floppy), I just give to them if they ask. If the item has 'value' (NM 98 or BA 12, for example) I search out the reprint and surprise them. If no reprint is available or the item is too costly I simply say 'Maybe one day." Additionally, they support their own comic collection by helping with yard work and earn $2 per bag filled with leaves. They can then spend their money on the LCS $1 comic wall; once a month.
  10. Sorry for your loss. Your question is something I grappled with after the loss of my father a few years ago. Not only did he have the items he collecting through life, but took my grandparent's collections (silver, china, furniture, stamps) and also the items they held on to from his grandparents. Upon handling his estate with my sister (consignment, donations, trash, etc...) I decided I will not pass that on to my kids. Got home after three weeks away and cut 42 short boxes to 22 by donating any book that had no recent sales data over $1.99 each Then I decided on a hard limit of books that I was going to keep 'till the end', similar to what KCOComics stated. I ended on 50 for my personal collection (two CGC short boxes). Each month I track most recent online (eBay, CLink, Heritage) sales data so that my family will have the most up-to-date market info available.
  11. Modern Slow Boat... Shipped to CGC 1/4 Delivered to CGC 1/7 ‘Received’ by CGC 1/19 (8 business days later) Scheduled for Grading 3/10 (36 business days later / 44 business days later) Grading / Quality Control 3/18 (6 business days later / 50 business days later) Shipped 3/23 (3 business days later / 53 business days total)
  12. Currently - No 5 Years From Now - Yes Eight to ten years ago in some shops that still focused on Overstreet (and even on these boards), you could get 'deals' on pre-code horror. eBay lacked consistent sales data and the number of 'key' apps was nil. Now everyone accesses GPA or Go Collect or eBay before figuring out their starting bid and adding 10-15%. Example, I scored this personal grail via a sales thread on the boards in 2013 for $40 raw. (it was advertised / pictured with all its flaws present)
  13. Question adjacent to a topic in a thread re: manipulating GPA data - Would it be probable someone will lower their taxes by selling [insert high dollar item here] to a friend at a loss through a documented transaction on eBay?
  14. Anyone with insight on the total number of Kickstarter Nocterra #1 72-page softcover Collector's Edition (so they can be CGC'd) were produced? I guess it'll be a race to see which arrives first to claim 1st Appearance...
  15. That one time someone bought a CGC 9.9 or 10.0 (can't remember fully) on these boards of Revival #1...
  16. 9.6 Ultimate Fallout 4 Variant Why? Because Clone Wars #1 is already spec priced in with the Ashoka show. Perhaps a 10-20% bump when it premieres, but how long can Rosario Dawson perform as her...a few seasons? Then once she is out of the live action entertainment loop for a year the value of the book drops. Whilst UF#4 V has quasi-spec priced in with the PS5 game existing and an animated movie BUTTTT if either Spidey 3 or DS 2 introduce a live action Miles in the Sony / MCU (as there was a slight reference to him in Spidey 1)...it is off to the races.
  17. Okay...so to tie this to CGC... Who gets the registry points? If all shares are equal then how do they divide the points?
  18. Can't lay claim to this but..."The Speculator Age" (specifically post 2010 / Walking Dead and Marvel movies exploding)
  19. I did not get to meet him for this book as it was submitted using a facilitator. Just checked eBay for Portfolio #1 and you are right...those prices are way higher than I was trying to get them 'back in the day'. Maybe I'll dig up the copy of Portfolio #1 I have and get it graded so the set can finally be complete. As far as other Cooke CGC...I have a 9.8 of the Batman Beyond #1 (2011) Variant
  20. I was only able to get this one done before he passed. His work on Parker was top notch. (unfortunately, I never found a potential "9.8" raw copy of Portfolio #1 to submit for SS...)
