  1. Just picked this up at Supercon from Bob Layton

How the hell did you get in?!?

I drove down yesterday with my son but they directed us to overflow parking and said it would be almost an hour wait for the shuttle and then a 2-3 hour wait to get in. No way my 8 year old would have sat in the sun that long waiting so we turned around and came home. Bummer! :sorry:

  2.

1st rule of comic collecting for married men, ALL comics, i dont care if its an AF15, ALL COMICS cost "like $40" (thumbs u

Words of a truly wise man (worship)

Or "I traded some other books for this one." :foryou:

I've used that one a LOT!

    +1

I mean, just the other day I traded a Revival #9 9.8 for the ASM #50 8.0! lol

And can you believe, the Revival #9 was only $20!

I like the cut of your jib sir! (worship)

  3. My wife runs triathlons and ironmans so luckily or unluckily for me depending how you look at it, her "hobby" is just as expensive if not more so than mine so she really cant say anything about my comic purchases

Yeah, I bet that DOES get spendy, just at the grocery store alone (eating healthy ain't cheap)

Oh no! She eats like ! When you go out and bike 80 miles, then run 14 and then swim 1.5 in the Florida heat, you can eat whatever the hell you want. She actually HAS to eat crappy since she cant really maintain her weight unless she eats all day.

Its the equipment and races. her last tri-bike cost more than my 9.8 Pedigree Avengers 57 not to mention what it costs to ship that thing back and forth to her races. Going thru a pair of running shoes every month, wetsuits, Garmins etc, etc, etc. It never freaking ends!!!

    lol

I know the books you buy so you either have the most understanding wife on the planet or follow the "$40" rule hm

  5. Well...they just arrived and she didn't even seem to care...awesome!

    ^^

Wives are funny that way. Many, many MANY times the Mrs. didn't seem to care. The trick is not to abuse that apathy, which can be very easy to do. Otherwise all the little purchases MAY turn out to be stockpiled ammunition for one HELL of an arsenal :makepoint:

That seems like very good advice!

Unless you are watching them like a hawk, i guarantee your wives are NOT telling you exactly how much each purse, pair of shoes, outfit is costing :gossip:

  6. Like 'em all, Billy - I just started collecting Sgt. Fury and was going to concentrate on just the Kirby issues, but this title seems to represent Ayers' (still alive btw, aged 89) signature work.

even the one with the spoon-y pq at ow/w???

There were 4 Pedigree copies that went off on eBay like an hour ago. 47,48,49 and 70. I saw this and figured you would outbid me at the last second but all but the 48 went without a last second bid and i got pretty cheap.

  9. February 2nd is most likely the date it was received by whatever store sold it :gossip:

I know. I know. But I want funny, interesting stories of the date if that's what you're going with.

Or maybe 2/4 was some secret code to a treasure or something?! (shrug)

They're YOUR stories. You guys tell 'em! (thumbs u

    Ahhhh, ok!

2 of 4 was his rating of how hard he vomited when he actually read the story

    (tsk)

Sorry. In my defense, i LOVE the Avengers and even still like half of the 1st 200 issues make me vomit in my mouth a little when i read them
