  1. I'd lean towards legit because it was low value when you bought it, and as someone else said, the wrap looks good, but I just don't know on this title. Just because somebody put the box together upside down doesn't make it a variant though. Just a mistake by some low paid assembly line work that didn't get caught by QC.
  2. I know jack about atari . @buyatari ?
  3. Rule of thumb is don’t do. I think there are limited exceptions where framing art and published together is ok (typically where art is very large and published very small) but if in doubt, just don’t.
  4. I try to get excited about Basil's "weird people" work but I can't quite get there. I sure wish his 50s sci fi and horror stories were available, although I'm sure they'd cost a fortune.
  5. Ouch. and yeah compared to the panel page with prelim going over 400k...
  6. I'm disappointed with myself for allowing it to get to the second reply!
  7. I'm having a little fun with it, but yeah its mostly in the name of competition. Because honestly? The story reads just as well in a $25k 9.8 vs $500 2.0 vs a $1 reprint
  8. Here's a visual guide. 9.8 vs 9.4
  9. To show your weenie is bigger, duh :P
  10. Well that’s why I said thematically. I’m sure Alex could’ve done pretty much any type of work he set his mind to I know I know I’m being this guy
  11. Well, I didn't actually compare schomburg to Elvgren because I don't think the two have much in common thematically. Both wonderful artists though!
  12. Are there any particular covers or work you’re thinking of when you say that Cat? When I think I think of Schomburgs work nothing along those lines comes immediately to mind. What you described sounds like an Elvgren scene to me
  13. You should see the labels on some Cdn whites. Not even a date.
  14. Nah. Sometimes condition just means the bidder doesn’t go after it as hard. It’s not an all or nothing, binary choice where you either go to the wall or don’t buy at all. Gene and that xmen splash for example. He still wanted it and the timing wasn’t right but I got the sense that he would have curbed his bidding by 10-20%.
  15. I think its fabulous. Crotch shot doesn't bother me at all. It does look toned. I know it can potentially be reversed, but do you people shy away from bidding on boards which exhibit toning? I guess you get used to it (?) but I am not a fan of the aesthetics when the black/white contrast is lost. Now I'd make an exception for this one if it wasn't going to cost an arm and a leg.
  16. Sounds less bat”mess” crazy than it did before but if you’re moving and worried about leaks and pests, just buy some plastic totes, but your art binders in there, and you’re done. garbage bags for a couple months (particularly if it’s art in binders in garbage bags in totes) are fine I’m sure, but forget this dryer sheet idea.
  17. Guesses on ending price for the 9.4 CA1? My mind goes to at or near seven figures but I have no idea if that's realistic.
  18. There's a frazetta for sale, shocker. I think it will be 10 years before there ISN'T a frazetta for sale. Fun seeing them all.
  19. Its sad that Beerbong didn't keep better records, it sure seems to have been one great pedigree.
