  1. And I was always taught (here on the boards) that the Cent and Pence copies were printed at exactly the same time, not one month apart.
  2. So, what you're saying is that the Census lists the pence copy as Sept, when it really should be Aug. Good detective work.
  3. When you look up the census on AF15 it shows the pence copy as coming out one month later. Weird. None of the other keys show that.
  4. Gotta bump this thread. I enjoy all the laughs I get out of it.
  5. Here's another question. When you check the census on all Silver Marvel keys, it shows the Cent copy census and then you can scroll down and see the Pence copy census. But for AF15 it doesn't have the pence copy census with the cent copy census. You have to search out the AF15 pence census separately. As far as I can tell Af15 is the only marvel silver key that the census handles this way. Anyone have any idea why?
  6. Thanks for your thoughts Marwood. I think 1 extra thing I have going for my AF15 is that it's the highest graded on the census, which might give it a little bump in value. I suspect though, that there are many pence Af15s that haven't been slabbed yet because they're sitting raw in the UK. 7.0 is a pretty high grade for a pence copy, but I suspect there's gotta be a higher grade than that. Even Hulk 1 and TTA27 have higher graded pence copies which doesn't make sense to me.
  7. Where do any of you Pence guys currently put the value of Pence copies in relation to their Cent counterparts? 50%? 60%? 70%? More? I haven't really examined it in a while. Are they trending upwards? I figure key issues would get the highest percentage. I've got a mega key Pence (AF15) and I'm always trying to figure out how I should value it.
  8. I loved that the senator was wearing the Dr Manhattan underwear from the comic.
  9. Cover looks nice, but "CR - OW" pages https://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Fantasy-15-CGC-6-5-FN-Unrestored-Marvel-1st-Spider-Man-CR-OW-Pages-/133257378191?hash=item1f06c2398f%3Ag%3ApGEAAOSwwAdZ-mhU&nma=true&si=Ph23%2FypPiQggfowZNzxKPfcazpg%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  10. ST 93 - raw - 4.0-4.5 Cover is still holding at both staples, but the top has a vertical staple tear so the staple is holding a tab. Interior is nice. CF is snug at staples. $50
  11. ST 92 - raw - 3.0 Some chips out in a couple spots on the cover. Crease on bottom back cover has a 1" tear. Interior is nice. Everything is snug at the staples $35
  12. ST 91 - raw - "apparent 5.0" - HAS AMATEUR COLOR TOUCH in "black" spots on the edges of the front cover (bleeds thru to inside cover) Small light stain at top spine of back cover Nice interior. Everything is snug at the staples. $30

  16. ST 71 - raw - 4.0-4.5 - Sun shadow at top. Not pressed Comic has 2 original sets of staples. It is NOT a married cover. This happens very rarely during binding, but it does happen. I've owned about 5 comics that have had this same stapling. Nice interior pages. Everything is snug. $50

  19. Admit it.... you're happy you cracked it and don't have to worry about clipped coupons or missing pages. Well done.
  20. Superboy #5 has the 1st named "Supergirl". She too has blonde hair. 1949
  21. If I owned this PGX slab (I saw this comic on ebay and actually thought about bidding on it) I would 100% crack it out of the slab. You have to know what you have. How brittle are the edges. Maybe the brittleness is only on a few outer wraps and all the center wraps are nice. Maybe the CF is in excellent condition. I want to know what I have when I buy these "project comics". I thought about bidding for this comic to get the outer wrap. I wanted the outer wrap for a Action 4 that I own and thought that I might be able to remove the tape. Ultimately, the massive amount of spine tape and the "brittle edges" kept me away from it, but I wondered about the interior.
  22. I would think CGC couldn't help but downgrade for the amount of tape on the 5.0 AF15. From what I can tell by the photos there isn't a tear on the front cover and only a small tear on the back cover. That's a LOT of tape for that. If resto experts could guarantee a nice tape removal, it would be a really nice candidate to have the tape removal done. Even if the grade stayed the same the eye appeal would be outstanding (and the value would go up).
  23. Have restoration experts definitively figured out a way to remove celophane tape like this? The tape is SO huge and distracting on this cover. Remove the tape and this is a really nice looking 5.0. I don't know if it would gain in grade, but it would sure look nicer.
