  1. That's a really cool find. I love stuff like this. I also love the cowboy/indian switch between covers.
  2. Gorgeous Comic, GLWTS I can vouch for Derek. I did a MAJOR transaction with him. He's a great guy who loves the hobby and will treat you right. I can't believe he's letting this go.
  3. Rare Australian version of Superboy 5 which features the 1st Supergirl story (1949). This is from the same era probably just a few months later. This one is Superboy 14 (in the australian Superboys they started the numbering with #1 being from "More Fun #101") I'm going to grade it as a 3.5 "conserved" because it has some archival tape on a some tears around the staples. Pages show some foxing $190 $175 $165
  4. Archie 57 - raw - 5.5ish Comic is faded but otherwise gorgeous. The spine is superb. The fading and a couple of other small flaws bring it down to the 5.5ish range. Pages look to be White Back cover has what looks to be the equivalent of "marvel chipping" (dull blade when cut) on the free edge. It's hard to see in my photo. $60 $50 $43
  5. Thrilling Comics 68 (Canadian) CGC 6.0 Qualified CR-OW Missing page 16 (I don't see anything that indicates Canadian on the cover) $149 $134
  6. Wow! There's some GREAT books there! I'm jealous.
  7. Well.... that certainly fits the description
  8. When I saw this gorgeous cover posted in this thread, I knew I needed to pick one up. Here's the Canadian version I just found. It's not only canadian, but it's the "S 'double D'" version
  9. All of you undergraded on this one..... it's coming back as a 5.5 woohoo! I did decide to press so that might have helped a little.
  10. The press worked wonders. Even with the water stain I'm going to say 5.5-6.0
  11. No staining on any of the interior pages. Matt Nelson told me the interior pages should get a WHITE designation (but they didn't).
  12. Great analysis. The value difference between a 4.0 & 4.5 is about $5500 so I'm thinking it might be a good risk to take. I see so many AF15 4.0s that look inferior to mine so I can't see the grade going down. If I get the same grade then I lose a couple hundred (or whatever they'll charge), but if I get a half grade bump...... outstanding. I think I'm going to go for it. I'll report the grade if I do.
  13. Does anyone agree with me that CGC was tight a few years ago and seems to have loosened up a little?
  14. I might be misunderstanding..... you were offered $2k for issues 4&6 as is? You better jump on that as quick as you can! The two of those aren't even worth $1k combined. Or did you mean the H1?
  15. I had this one graded a few years back when CGC seemed to be grading super strict. IMO CGC has softened their grading slightly. What do you think..... should I crack & resub? Just getting a half grade bump would be super awesome. I've always thought it looked better than a 4.0. It has the water stain at the bottom, but still they really hammered me on this one for such a gorgeous book.
  16. I can't WAIT to see what this will look like after a press & clean. Great find. PLEASE post pics after the press. Only 28 Pence copies on the census. Congrats. All Pence copies? Any other Marvel treasures?
  17. I thought I'd bump this again. I'd still like to find out what strip number this Australian "origin" corresponds to in the American strips. I think it's late 200s or early 300s
