  1. Ok, NOW this thread is really gonna take off if Robot Man starts pulling out all of his Badges! Come on, let's see a few.
  2. That's an OLD Werewolf story. Is there an example of a werewolf story in comics that's older than this?
  3. Daredevil 1 CGC 6.5 OW-W $3100 shipped ($210 less than the GPA 12 month average + free shipping)
  4. I love my OSG for all the specific notes about each comic, but for value...... I'll pass. OSG undervalues all key issues.
  5. I would never use the OPG to value a comic like this (or really any comic). To answer the OPs question.... I believe CGC would either give it a .5, or if it's nice enough they might give it a "Qualified" label with an "apparent grade". Here's some more info for you.... GPA says a .5 (incomplete) sold last October for $258. A 1.0 sold in 2017 for $361. If you really like it maybe try offering $200 and see if they have some wiggle room.
  6. DD 1 is coming back to me as a Blue 6.5 OW-W. I'm very happy.
  7. I don't think there are millions of new modern collectors. I can't say for sure but I gather from reading on the boards that LCSs are struggling. I personally am a HUGE comic fan, however I don't visit my LCS more than a couple of times a year (I should). I just buy trade paperbacks off of ebay for any title I'm interested in (I recently bought a ton of Miles Morales TPBs because I loved the Spiderverse movie and wanted to learn more about him). I wonder though..... if the movies are bringing in more collectors to the back issue (key issue) market. Even if the modern market is struggling, If there are enough young fans starting to collect older copper/bronze/silver/gold then won't that make the overall hobby sustainable? My daughter has been sucked in. She's not buying moderns but she's buying older comics. My son hasn't been fully sucked in to collecting, but he asked me to find him an ASM 1 and an Xmen 1 about 8 years ago when he had some extra money (I got him an ASM 1 5.0 & an Xmen 1 6.0.... he still has them). maybe that's the lesson for us older collectors... if nothing else let's get out wn
  8. This first appearance beats Doomsdays "fist" cameos by a lot.
  9. Whoops, I thought 1950s War Comics was you Adam haha. I still haven't had my coffee this morning.
  10. That's a great point. Kind of like what's happening with AF15 & ASM1. 181 is simply too expensive now so collectors are going after 180
  11. Earlier in the thread I mentioned that Hulk 180 might be outperforming 181 in the last 2 years. Here's the GPA stats in a few high grades to compare the percentage increase of the two comics: H180 2017----2019----%increase 9.4 = $971-----$2426----250% 9.0 = $511-----$1114----219% 8.0 = $391-----$718-----183% H181 2017-----2019------%increase 9.4 = $5125-----$10,021---196% 9.0 = $3190-----$6036------189% 8.0 = $2145-----$3848------179% Both books are doing really well, and these were the only grades I checked, but it looks like percentage-wise Hulk180 is actually doing better than Hulk181. Interesting. Kind of make you wonder if 180 is getting the respect it is due. I glanced at Hulk 182, and while it's climbing, percentage-wise it's being left in the dust by these two.
  12. Oooooh..... that could start a whole new thread. has it been done here on the boards yet? The Mount Rushmore of comics means only 4 can be there. I think we can all agree the first 3 are Superman, Batman & Spiderman, but the forth....... Cap? Wolverine? Wonder Woman? Hulk? Supes & Bats are the two most iconic GA characters. Spidey is the most iconic SA character. Is Wolverine hands down the most important Bronze? Probably, but is it enough to get him onto the Mt Rushmore? I actually think it might be a tie between Cap & WW
  13. Congrats, do you have some of the other wraps?
  14. Please oh lord, do not let this happen. I'm thinking that every single new year there are a new set of young people that finally have some disposable income and will keep the hobby thriving.
  15. Let me know the name of that seller!!! I'll buy from them all day long.
  16. I love that they have the Pub dates and copyright nos.
  17. In the last recession a lot of investors ditched the Stockmarket and looked for alternative investing choices. Comics was one of their choices. I am afraid of Superhero Movie burnout. My wife and I went to Captain Marvel a couple nights ago and when we left she said there was nothing special about the movie at all, and she is now completely bored with all of these Superhero movies . When we went to Aquaman she asked if we could leave . We didn't leave, but I have to agree.... Marvel & DC need to up their game or there's gonna be burnout. I'm pretty sure EndGame is gonna get it right.
  18. I haven't really crunched the numbers, but percentage-wise it almost looks like H180 has risen even faster than 181 over the last 3 years.
  19. I think moving forward they will be using a new actor. Didn't Jackman say he was done? Of course, if they pitched a Hulk/Wolverine battle he might come out of retirement. Jackman likes doing musicals.... maybe they could make it a musical
  20. Um.... didn't Marvel/Disney just get the rights to Xmen? That news in itself creates the possibility of a Hulk/Wolverine movie
  21. And when you get his books, where you Putin them all?
  22. You might already know this but, because of the extreme black cover it's hard to find this in super high grades because the black cover shows every flaw.
