  1. I agree, but.... if you have a WK book to submit I think it might be a good strategy to submit some Econ books with it.
  2. I wonder if mixing it in with a WK made it move faster since they opened the package immediately? My Econ sub was delivered 5/30, but wasn't "opened and SFG" until 8/11. Technically, your econ sub was "delivered" almost 2 months after mine, but was "opened" 2 weeks before mine. Maybe the lesson is that we all need to write WK on ALL of our submissions (or at least include 1 WK comic with our orders)
  3. I'm 8/11. Does anyone have an earlier Econ sub that hasn't made it past SFG? Let's figure out exactly what day/week the status is changing to GEI.
  4. I'm going to imagine Dan Decarlo colored it, and leave it at that.
  5. That hat kind of looks like the shape of a Tom Mix hat
  6. My 8/11 2021 Sub still at SFG I've heard people talking about "tighter grading" right now. So, not only a long TAT, but tighter (lower) grades. Ugh
  7. I just saw a UK TOS 40 for sale in the sales section of the boards if anyone's interested.
  8. Original Front Cover from 1946 The Spirit #7 Mounted onto a cardstock (it was in a scrapbook) $12 + shipping
  9. SOLD Original Front Cover from 1950 The Spirit #21 Gorgeous Good Girl Art by Eisner This one has some small pieces of tape on the inside
  10. Original Front Cover from 1950 The Spirit #19 Mounted on card stock and put into a scrapbook. This is the only one I tested to see if the cover can be separated from the cardstock (see my 2nd pic). The card stock can slowly be removed, but it's not easy. It'll take some time. I wouldn't recommend it. Just enjoy it like this. $12 + shipping

  17. I do find the literal "drawing swipes" to be the most fascinating myself, especially when they're barely changed at all.
  18. From the "Fran Frazer" story of Top-Notch Comics 21 (what??? you've never heard of Fran Frazer???) Fran and Hal find themselves trapped in an Arabian Chieftain's home. They hide in a Harem room and put on "Harem" disguises. Good plan... who could ever figure this out? Fran is at least a woman (although she's white), but Hal is a muscular man. But yes! The disguises work! The German villain, Von Berg is especially fooled and falls in love/lust with Hal. In the 2nd panel Fran speaks Pig-latin to Hal to communicate (these two are regular 007s)
  19. Lots of small flaws including staining & dust/sun shadows, but the comic is structurally nice & secure at the staples. These are such thick comics it's a wonder they've stayed in one piece.
