  1. I really like this show. Howard is so cool. Tonight's episode is the best so far. Jim
  2. Great...now I have another forum to read to keep up with the awesomeness that is "ComicBookCoin" Jim
  3. But, but , they had non comic people tell them what a great idea this was. Jim
  4. I cannot believe the time and effort somebody put into this...we all knew what the outcome was going to be in 5 minutes, but yet these guys decided to design a website, post to forums etc etc for what? Good effort boys, but we told you so. Jim
  5. No chatter after tonight's episode. I really like this show and didn't see the end coming at all, although I probably should have. Just totally immersed in the show. Jim
  6. Great...now I'm craving Giordanos, thank you. It's only an eight hour drive Jim
  7. This has to be my absolute favourite thread ever. I am so glad that this didn't get put in the Advert and Promo threads where it actually belongs. I'm starting a CryptoAntiComicCoin that goes live tomorrow based on the fact that Comic Coins do not actually go live tomorrow...anybody interested in buying in? Just for fun. Jim
  8. I think the main point you are missing here is the fact that you guys have put way too much time and effort into something that almost nobody on planet Earf (sic) is going to buy into. If this is a serious proposition in buying CGC graded books, really the $10 monthly GPA subscription fee is an obstacle? This is just so flawed in every aspect. Jim
  9. Honestly though, if I am going to spend money on comic books, I am going to own and enjoy them. Why would I invest in a share of someone else's collection? Well, I guess you wouldn't. But some people would. There are many crypto fans out there (although not many here, from what I can tell! ) who want something different. This is an asset-based coin that invests its money (in this case XRP) into a collection of comics. One's share is based on the number of coins they own. There is nothing nefarious or mysterious about it. He just mentioned it and that the comics will be displayed in his store, that's all. I truly hope some of you find it interesting, but if not, I understand. Who's buying the comics??? You list on your website that ComicsPriceGuide values an Avengers #7 at $480. Hopefully you didn't pay that, or else you might have got took. Last real world sale was $281 and the average for the last year was $350. How do we know you (coiners) are spending our (coinees) money wisely??? If you are using ComicsPriceGuide prices as some sort of basis point we are not off to a good start already. Jim Jim
  10. Just checked the zero feedback bidder who is currently leading the auction has bid with four different sellers out of his/her four different bids and one of them was statues and the other Blu Rays. Jim
  11. Are 0 feedback bidders not allowed to bid? I have 0 feedback bidders bid and win my auctions all the time. If there was some illuminati trying to control the market would they not be using at least one or five of their shill accounts that have feedback, just to cover their tracks? I mean if there is some illuminati doing so, can they not be at least smart illuminati There are also real bidders with real feedback bidding this up too. People are giving way to much credit that the comic market can be so easily manipulated. Jim
  12. I don't even know what to say about this book anymore. This info will probably spawn a four page argument though, haha. I sense a diatribe of "shill bidding" in our future . Jim
  13. Ironic then, don't you think, that he's providing the perfect example of why there *should* be a gap in prices (i.e. you can't necessarily trust someone's raw grade, especially if that person is divad) Now that's not very fair is it? David is a good guy, even if he can't predict a 9.9 on a regular basis. Now this is why I think it's vital that Transplant keeps bringing the subject up, and not taken it to PM....Oak you are one of the wisest people here, with incredible street cred, how can you say David is a good guy? It's been shown on numerous occasions that books are overgraded, and that he is improperly listing first appearances in his EBay auctions? How is this a good guy? Jim
  14. I love that quote. It won't turn out to be accurate in this case, though. Harley's rise in popularity has been building for a while. She'll be a key hobby fixture for years. When you look at BA 12 print and supply numbers, and use NM 98 as a measuring stick, you realize there may even be more room to run for 9.8s. Five years out, $1500 for a BA 12 in 9.8 may seem cheap. Right. "This time will be different." *yawn* -J. No. It'll be the same. The same as other characters who've become leading players in the hobby and seen the values of their first appearances rise. Think Wolverine circa 1980, Punisher circa 1986, Deadpool over the past few years ... and now Harley. There's a long history of characters becoming hobby favorites to draw from. Or....more like the same pumped up movie hype, with the same subsequent crash. The market has changed since Wolverine and the Punisher, and this book is being relentlessly pumped (on these boards) and shilled (on ebay). These are not the hallmarks of long term viability. That, and the character is rapidly becoming over-exposed. -J. Book has staying power, it's not Squirrel Girl, or Legends 3 or X-Factor 6 even, it's a bonafide key with the top five character in the planet. It's a big deal and a good book. Jim Batman Spiderman Superman Wolverine Iron Man Captain America Incredible Hulk Thor Wonder Woman Flash Joker Daredevil Archie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles "Top 5 character on the planet"? Come on dude. Cosplay doesn't count and stop acting like the book has been "selling" for $1500 for the last two years instead of two weeks. People can buy what they want and pay whatever they want but enough with the pumping and carnival barking already. -J. Bats, Wolvie, Deadpool, Spidey and Harley...that's a reasonable top 5. To put DD, Flash and Wonder Woman is kinda silly. Stop by your children's school playground one day and ask the other kids on the playground when you pick your kids up and ask around? Bet you might me a little bit surprised. I'd guessing you'll get a whole lot of DareWho? and WonderWho? Jim

Let people buy what they like and stop trying to pizz on it everytime they do. Book has staying power, it's not Squirrel Girl, or Legends 3 or X-Factor 6 even, it's a bonafide key with the top five character in the planet. It's a big deal and a good book. Jim
  16. Oh, this is going to be good. What is that? 1st black costume in the SSM title? Yes. It's curious how that relevant part was left out of the "auction" description. Black Cat debuted almost 5 years prior to the release of this issue and appeared in over a dozen issues in between, so "early" would be a bit of a stretch. Obviously not heating up, but I'm sure everyone realizes that since it was a divad post. I'm sure somebody will be along in a moment to take issue with the grading. A 9.4 with those deep spine breaks is a little much, but that's far from the issue here , now that we are deceiving people that this is the first black costume. What I really don't understand is how these are posted after someone hits the BIN's like they are some sort of trophy sales or something and look at it me and what I sold, when in all honesty I personally would be embarrassed to sell that book for anything more than in one of my dollar bins. But back to the real problem, first Black Costume! WTF, preying on people who don't know better is not cool. Jim
  17. Out of curiousity where do you obtain the "pre-cut cardboard that fits perfectly"? Papermart. About $117 shipped for 600 sheets of 8.5 x 11 200# cardboard. I used to cut my own cardboard. My time is worth 20 cents a sheet. I'm getting the 9 x 12s for 26 cents each, and they're just a bit bigger. Yay! You know what they say about comic fanboys with bigger cardboard.......... What does that say about this Fanboy who actually owns a cardboard factory BTW I come to this board to get away from cardboard talk between the hours of 9:00 to 3:00 Jim
  18. Progress? RMA you are a wise dude, and I appreciate your insight always. Oakman-who hopes his grammer and punctuation were correct. You spelled grammar wrong. You spelt, spelled wrong Jim Spelled is perfectly acceptable/correct. Nice try though. I know, I was just trying to be cute. The first time I spelt, spelt in a rather large PM thread, the members of the PM (mostly Americans) thought I had totally flipped my lid until they looked it up. Another small nuance in the difference between our two cultures. Jim

  20. Happy for ya as well mate, but honestly graded 9.6 of this copy are selling for more than 3 times the amount, and whos to say it wouldt fetch a 9.8? Just my opinion Because it wouldn't "fetch a 9.6" Oh that is so freaking rich...like you should be calling anybody out It's a pretty book, and yes I see the stress lines on the back. Funny but very true story. Sold a couple grand last week of minor keys to a board member sight unseen, not a scan or anything, just my word. His exact words to me were "they better be graded properly or I'll out you on the boards as a Divad poseur" Needless to say, he didn't have a problem with a single one of the 22 books he got, but I was scared poopless the entire time, I mean who would want to be outed as that??? Jim
  21. Have you looked at Walking Dead TV show demographics to support your claim? Walking Dead beats all shows in the 18-49 age demo every week. I wouldn't call 18-25 mature audiences. The show caters to the young and older and has ratings that TV execs dream of... I would call the 18-25 age demographic a mature audience. Just like how video game companies rate games with a M label for mature. These games are aimed at that age range because that level of violence is determined to be suitable for that age. Big difference between watching cartoon shows after school at age 8 and watching the Walking Dead or playing Grand Theft Auto at age 18. I know that on a Monday all the kids at my childrens school all they talk about is what happened on WD last night. My girls are 12 and 14 know but it has been like that for a couple years now. I don't think they keep track of viewership under 18 because sponsors don't see them as being able to really be a consumer, but I'd hazard a guess that the 12-18 viewership is ridiculously high. Jim
