  1. I've been meaning to add this little gem since its arrival a couple of weeks ago. The White Mountain Avengers #25. Jim
  2. Two months ago, I made a concious decision to buy and collect only White Mountain books after getting this beauty from our own Rich (Korvac Saga) Until this book I had never picked up a TTA in my life but once it arrived I fell in love with it and the pedigree in general. Since then these have all fallen in my lap one way or another and hope to keep my little run going. and this one is currently in transit and can't wait to add it to my collection Thanks Rich for hooking me on this title, and my wife would also like to thank you as she very much enjoys eating only Kraft Dinner, Beans and Bologna sandwiches all the time At this pace I'll also be a new client for some bankruptcy lawyer as well The whole "Butterfly Effect" thing. Jim
  3. Thanks Mike...now you know where my toy sale proceeds are going...stealing from Peter to pay Paul as they say :) Jim
  4. A couple of months ago I came to a decision to collect only White Mountain pedigree books, and in the last week these 3 have arrived, which I'm pretty proud of When the #27 arrived and I was able to see it with my own eyes, I knew I made the right choice Jim
  5. The FF#23 is 8.5 ish, could maybe swing the half grade up or down, depending on the way they were feeling that day Harley had it priced at about 9.0 guide but he was very generous with his discount and I got it for about an 8.4 price Jim
  6. Was able to pick up a near half dozen peds, this weekend alone. White Mountain TTA #57 White Mountain FF#37 White Mountain FF#28 Ohio copy of FF #23 Diamond Run Cap #107, it doesn't even fit my collecting focus but with dripping inks such as this, I couldn't pass it up. Two more WM's are currently in transit Jim
  7. Actually I picked up my first ST this week....thanks Frederic...it is gorgeous Then I won this off of Ebay and am awaiting its arrival http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=150117646645 BTW I thought these things are supposed to be pretty hot books? How does one win a pedigreed book, thats graded for just over half guide? Well I guess I don't want to know the answer, I just hope the deals keep coming PS When it arrives, I'm gonna crack that sucker open and give it a read....how does the content of ST's stand up to other books of the day? Jim
  8. Yes, but do you guys have a copy of ST #10 (like this one) in your collection http://www.pedigreecomics.com/detail.php?issue_id=13109 Jim
  9. Steve: Heres a pic of the #136 when it appeared for sale with Heritage and the day I brought it home and what it looked like right after framing As for the books, the #122 is the Don Rosa 9.4. and the others you asked about are higher grade raws. Thanks for your kind words. And for Deathlok, here's me taking some books out of my Moms car Jim
  10. Joker: How would you know that? Actually haven't dealt with them since Tom Derby sold the company. Johhny: Yep you'll see me for sure Chris: Yep, you have definitely contributed a good amount to my collection. Thanks for the kind words everybody. Jim
  11. Well just as much a collectibles room as it is a comics room, here is my little slice of 1970's/1980's pop culture. Well represented here is everything I loved as a child...comic books, Star Wars, Kiss and Atari This first shot is what it looks when you first enter Here is a shot of the Goblin wall and a 2nd shot of the Goblin wall my comic rack One of my display cabinets with statues, as well some O/A on the wall some 70's key books and Atari stuff in another display cabinet some unproduced vintage Star Wars packaging and slabs my Kiss homage loose toys and Secret Wars set yes I put a bed in the middle of my room...it's where I go to read or just think and get away from everyday life my FF#1 and other slabs and because I am running out of room, some of the stuff overflows outside of my little "slice of heavan" and is displayed outside of the theatre/gaming room. Thanks for looking, Jim
  12. I'm not a Ditko guy, Jazzy John is my Spidey artist of choice but I am a Gwen Stacy guy and that 4th panel (close up of Gwens face) is worth the price of that page plus more. Absolutely beautiful page. Stunning to say the least !!! Jim
  13. Twenty years ago (when I was 12), my friends and I always felt that 12 centers were Silver and 15 centers were Bronze. Now I can actually quantify that position. If we are looking at GL/GA #76 as the start of Bronze, due to the human and true to life storytelling and the loss of innocence in comic books...then why don't we go back as far as ASM #96-98. Marvel did it first, they knowingly took on the code, took a risk and they did it with their most popular book! Harry was hooked on something (pills, acid, something) and having flashbacks, a lot earlier than Speedy was. Thats the book(s) that opened the door for everyone else to follow suit and push the envelope. Jim
  14. ASM #14 9.6 SW # 1 9.6 (35 cents) Hulk #181 9.8 ASM #122 9.4 Pacific Coast (I regret ever selling it) X-Men #1 9.6 Jim
