  1. When X-men #94 came out I was 12 years old and not really buying comics. I had some comics from 1972-74 that my mom eventually threw out. Although, those were mostly Harveys with a sprinkle of Marvels, although no X-men. I started seriously buying comics in 1978 and didn't buy my first X-men comic until 1979. That was X-men #123 which I bought two copies. One from the newsstand and another from the comic shop. The only reason I bought it was because Spidey was on the cover. After that, I felt compelled to buy every issue thereafter. Most of the time I would buy at least 2 copies, a newsie and DE. With issue #133 I started buying 3 to 6 copies, including 20 copies of X-men #137.  I eventually picked up X-men #94 & 95 in 1986 from a Ernie Gerber auction that he ran on the Comics Buyers Guide that summer.

    Years later the X-men #94 graded out 9.6 and issue #95 a 9.4.

Ok, here is a new comparison between the art Ross Andru penciled and the real-life reference he used.  I haven't done a new one of these in probably over a year because I thought I had found them all.  And for the most part, I had.  This one is subtle and I guess I knew it was there, I just didn't give it any energy.

In Giant-Size Spider-Man #2, the initial action is set in the power plant over by 59th Street Bridge (Queensborough Bridge today) and I had covered that reference fairly extensively, mostly owing to the fact that Ross did not draw the correct power plant that is actually located by the bridge.  He corrects this in Amazing Spider-Man 152.

The end of the story in GS SM #2 is set at the Empire State Building and Ross gives the reader a few panels of the ESB, just to make sure we aren't sleeping.  But the thing I did not notice before was the little details he put into the ESB lobby.  I do feel he took a lot of liberties on the elevators, but he makes them ornate, like the actual ESB elevators, which I think is neat.

I believe he also penciled some early MTU books. Did you ever check those out? (shrug)

I could probably find them and then even serve them, depending on the rules of service of process of that State.  As far as judgments are concerned, all my lawyer clients tell me, what good is a judgment if I can't collect? The only thing that I can do with it, is frame it on my wall. (shrug)

While I agree there are always going to be people inside and outside the business that will try to scam the system.

Clearly there is a breakdown or lack of security follow ups on employees that sell books.  Now while they may have gotten permission to sell books it is obvious that what they are selling is not checked by the company.  I'm assuming that going forward that will not be the case because frankly these two employees are ruining CGC's business reputation on integrity.

For me I've had issue with "Consultants" who come in and grade and also sell books.

That's a good question Bob, why is Mark Haspel a "Consultant"? hm

I contacted the individual selling this book on eBay. We had further conversation, not included because they did go on to name the actual physical Comic Book shop in NY as the source they bought it from that many of us have already connected to the eBay sellers. @CGC Mike I told them to reach out directly to CGC, so they may be doing that now.

    Was the shop in Brooklyn?
