  1. My all time favorite series. Much better than the tv series, I think. But then I read the books then watched the show not the other way around. I'm interested to see if you still enjoy the books.
  2. Wife lost her job the other day, so my Batwoman registry set will be put back up for sale by this weekend. PM me if interested before I post the sale.
  3. It's because it was marked "Fragile". The Post Office wanted to test this for themselves. Challenge excepted!
  4. I read them as they came out, so there was a span of several years between book 4 and 5. By the time I read book 5 (which was a bit tedious), I'd forgotten everything that happened in book four and was a bit confused at times. If you are going to read the series, don't put any time in between reading them.
  5. Ha! After all that time with none of this issue being 9.8, suddenly, within two or three months, a few (3 or 4?) 9.8s appear. The impossible issue is not longer impossible. But then here she comes, with the first and only 9.8 SS, and the day before her birthday, no less. Congratulations and happy birthday! Enjoy this, no matter what happens now, you did this first and it's yours. Bravo.
  6. The $250 max is listed under auction style listings, but in none of the fixed price charts does it list a maximum fee... unless I missed it.
  7. Is it just that I've noticed it more since this whole discussion about this, or has it actually been happening more recently? I think it's been happening more recently. Sellers should take into consideration, this is a free place to sell. 3% is nothing compared to an auction house. Even just with eBay, auction fees are 9% and Fixed Price listings are 7-13% of the first $50, 5-8% of the next $950 and 2% of anything over that. In other words, I'll take PayPal's 3% over all that any day.

  9. Figured I may as well deface the back cover of the comic while I was at it. I wasted way more time on this than I'll ever admit, and I still draw hands like a 4 year old...
  10. Well yeah, but it appears this transaction did not take place on the boards. Rules at one time were for board transactions only, then it included PMs, does it now include emails off the board? I enjoy a Boardie Outing as much as anyone, just seems it's getting to where any type of disagreement leads to Probation discussion. I've had this happen to me more than once on the boards from some pretty big names. I get some half- excuse & I file it away. I don't feel like the gives me iron clad rights to a book until payment has been taken. Much less stressful approach than trying to plaster a scarlet letter on every seller (or buyer) that a deal falls through with. Technically, yes it does. You post the and that's that. But, this thread is called the Probation Discussions, because that's what it's for. The buyer feels wronged by what happened, and he's brought it here, where it belongs. If he nominates the seller, then the seller can come in and have his/her say and try to find a mutual resolution. If the seller is innocent, then there's nothing for them to worry about and an explanation is in order.
  11. The rules basically say once the deal is made, both sides must complete their respective duties. If one or the other doesn't, you can be nominated for the PL. Not everyone nominated is put on the list, just those who don't reach a mutual conclusion.
  12. I haven't drawn since high school. Five beers later and here's what I ended up with:
  13. Finished Stone Spring yesterday, started Double Dexter today.
  14. I guess the vote would determine if the offered restitution is reasonable. I'd call free books at the cost of shipping reasonable, but that's me. I didn't buy from him, so I've got nothing in this. But, bottom line is that this is up to the buyers. The rest of us can only spectate. If they decide to let him off, so be it. If it happens again, he'll be back for PL nomination, and after this long winded debate, and I'm betting they will crucify him next time. As for the 51% question, is there a precedent for a situation like this?
  15. 11/22/63 and Bag of Bones are my personal favorites. Green Mile, Insomnia, and It are also good.
  16. I've only ever PMed one seller without posting an I'll take it. It was for multiple items and I was shooting an offer for a tiny amount off. Since that was all my discretionary cash for the month. I never got a reply, so wasn't sure if I committed a forum sin. I think it was more than likely my only having like 5 posts and not my offering that cause the lack of reply. I don't know about other sellers, but I almost always encourage offers, especially on multiple items. Granted, I've declined an offer here and there, but those were obvious lowball offers. And I don't mind selling to newer members at all, but I'll admit that I usually avoid buying from them until they've established a reputation or provide references like eBay feedback. But I think the lack of a response to a PM is rude.
  17. (thumbs u Speedy is right, this is annoying and unprofessional. But I'm with seanfingh, just don't buy from them. Sooner or later (probably sooner with as much as this is being discussed) the sellers in question will realize what's happening and why.
  18. Rupp's the man. Always great sheeet, great prices, and great packaging.
