  1. I've got a copy of this issue stored away. I've had it for probably 15 years or so, got it in a "grab bag" type thing that my parents bought me for Christmas one year right after I first got into comics from one of those cheapo "Made in China" mail order magazines. I've debated submitting it to CGC both times I've submitted, but for some reason I haven't done it yet... seeing this, I just might have to check it out again. It's in nice shape, but I'd have to examine it again to see how nice.
  2. Wow. I think the "Infinite Signature Thread" can end now, as we've all been humbled by the ultimate.
  3. Sensational Spider-Man #2 signed by Dan Jurgens:
  4. Did the get the label right on it? On mine they don't list it as the variant and have it listed as the Gambit hologram, instead of the Magneto one. And they got the grade wrong too. I was hoping for a 9.8 also, but, they misprinted it with a 0 instead of the 8. The X-Men 25 black and white is an awesome cover - has anyone submitted the Gold variant? I have two Gold Editions at CGC right now and a 9.8 from my last submission, plus a handful of raw copies that have some sort of flaw or another and a 9.6 Signature Series copy I picked up off eBay signed by Andy Kubert. The 9.8 from my first submission:
  5. Did the get the label right on it? On mine they don't list it as the variant and have it listed as the Gambit hologram, instead of the Magneto one. And they got the grade wrong too. I was hoping for a 9.8 also, but, they misprinted it with a 0 instead of the 8. The label was right, but they messed up my Wolverine #20 brown costume variant, labeled it as the Wizard World Sketch cover. I've tried on a few occasions to hunt for a copy of the X-Men 25 in a 9.8 but there's only twenty on the census so no one wants to let it go...
  6. I just sent my second submission to CGC. Made the mistake the first time around of submitting on the week of SDCC without knowing it. Took almost two months just to get my order "Verified". Took two days this time around! Nothing overly cool or classic in the list, just hopefully some high grades. These were my best results from the first submission: Bought this when I was ten years old by mail order from American Entertainment and somehow managed to keep it nice all this time, eighteen years later. Really wanted the 9.8 though...
  7. I use this bubble wrap that I get from work for free (they used to just throw it away). On a weekend once a few years back, we ran a strip of it over with our largest forklift. It didn't pop. We had to drive the forklift up an incline and have it come down on the bubble wrap to pop it. One of the guys tried to jump on it, but fell on his butt because it wouldn't pop. So now they give it to me instead of throwing it away and I use it to pack Priority Mail boxes for slabbed and raw comics. Great stuff. I've never seen anything quite like it for sale in stores. I've had reports from people I sold to (on eBay) about their boxes being quite mangled but the contents still being perfectly fine with none of the bubbles popped.
  8. I bought some X-Men comics from Mitch, a CGC and four raws comics. Everything was great. He shipped fast and packaged great. I'll be watching for Mitch's future sales.
  9. Well, it looks like this was a bad time to stumble onto this thread looking for the next scheduled appearance of Mark Bagley. Glad I read the last few pages of posts and the update, or you guys might have been bashing me instead. Obviously I've never posted or even been on this thread before, but I came here looking for a specific piece of information which has eluded me for the last hour of Google searches. Mark Bagley has no scheduled appearances. Medicar, you could have saved me an hour of my time if only I'd found this thread first. So for what it's worth, you helped me out.
  10. wow, boostergold, just wow. I'm sorry for what happened to you, and you're doing the right thing by warning everyone. I'm nowhere near your level, but I've been doing the same thing because you're right. Once it has happened, it doesn't go away. You are a hero, sir, and I salute you. -Ben
  11. You don't have weights, comic nerd! I'll make sure to specifically have the weights in the pictures once I do it. I'll bite: I was a very scrawny person (5'11" and only 120lbs) until last year when I found out that I have a fatty tumor smashing the nerves in my tailbone along with two herniated discs. My job is very physical and I was just tearing my body up from being too small and lifting too much in the wrong ways. The doctors forced me into exercise and weight training as part of my treatments. I've put on about 50lbs of muscle mass since August of last year. It's helping quite a bit, but I've still got a ways to go... Sounds like a new job is in order. I mean it's cool that you're in better health but this could only buy you time before your job starts bothering you again. Best of luck either way. You're exactly right, but financial reason have quite limited my options in that area. It's never stopped bothering me, but it's become more of an up and down thing now rather than just always horrid. The doctor's have made it quite clear that the tumor will most likely never go away and can't be removed, so from here on we can only try to slow the destruction of the discs and cover up the pain with pain management shots (not fun!). Sorry, this whole thing has been a bit Cough' CDL' Cough....Cough 'Oilfield' Cough... I'm a CNC Machine Operator. I make band saw, recip and hole saw blades. More specifically, the sharp teeth on them.

  14. You know, I have a finished room in my basement (called the man cave by my girlfriend) with a sectional couch, a 55" Mitsubishi DLP,a mini fridge, a Heineken mini keg cooler, a bookcase of vintage (NES, SNES and Sega) games with a 3 in one concsole to play them on, and my weights and I've only really thought about the idea of incorporating comics into the room and making it a display for some of my CGC comics. But after seeing this thread and the pictures here, I've made up my mind, I'm going to do it. Thanks to all. Maybe I'll post some pics of my own when it's finished.
