  1. As long as my scanner and Photobucket cooperate, I'll be launching a large sale of an entire Silver/Bronze age collection of Marvel comics tonight.
  2. If all else fails, I guess you could just remove yourself from the PM thread and never pay like you did with me recently. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=5818257&fpart=2 And here's the invoice PM quotes: (from 7/08/12) (from 7/30/12)
  3. Amazing. I find it fascinating how similar their handwriting is.
  4. If all else fails, I guess you could just remove yourself from the PM thread and never pay like you did with me recently.
  5. First time I shipped to Canada, I used the USPS online calculator and quoted them a price according to first class rate. I exceeded the 4lbs weight limit and had to ship it Priority. I ate the $25 because it was totally my fault due to inexperience. However, with that said, you have enough experience to know that shipping from the US to Canada can get expensive fast if you aren't familiar with the specifics. My question would be why would you agree to allow someone admittedly inexperienced in shipping to Canada to simply ship your items without discussing the specifics of shipping method, package weights, etc? While I agree that the seller should have done his homework, I'd have to say that you can't put this entirely on the seller because you agreed to pay the postage later without stipulations on cost limits and such.
  6. I loved the Sublime Honk Kong Phooey song when I was a kid. And this is an excellent price for this book. I'm jealous.
  7. I understand what you are saying, but look at it from this point of view, to give some of these "positive" comments is like a "kudos" for what they are selling. It is better, sometimes, than putting your books up for sale and get no response at all. You can't tell if your books aren't worth it or if maybe people just don't have the dough to spend right now. Just another way of looking at it. ... and as an added bonus, those little comments show activity in the thread. Always makes me think there is a party going on there and I need to look. The more people that look... and then re-look... just improves an item's chance of selling. But what do I know... I sell pure sheeeet I agree with BoosterGold and Rupp. I feel like I'm wasting time if there are no responses to my sales threads. I'd also add that when people post positive comments in your threads, that it might help encourage a potential buyer who's never dealt with you before. Seeing other's praise in your thread might be what they need to pull the trigger.
  8. Bought a handful of TPBs from Sam. Communication was excellent and the shipment was perfect. Thanks again.
  9. Is 3/4" still the maximum allowed thickness for encapsulation? Thanks.
  10. I've had this happen on several occasions with newer board members. They claim something in my sales thread and then disappear, never to log on again. I believe this happened three times to me, so far. I've waited the 30 days just to be certain I was in the clear and could nominate the buyer for the PL. Should a seller who contacts a buyer have to wait so long for a response? Absolutely not. The buyer claimed it, the seller contacted them, and it should be settled. But, I recommend we stick to the 30 day rule, no exceptions. Is it usually longer than needed? Yes. But we, as a community have an established 30 day rule. We're not eBay (thankfully), and we've said 30 days is the rule. I agree with Aces that ten days is more than enough time to respond, as a buyer or a seller. But, we've agreed 30 days is the time frame, so please, let's not muddy the waters of which side of the sale we are on and let's stick to the established time frame, though we should all strive to be well ahead of it...
  11. So did I miss something? Why does this thread now say "Re: Batman's Legs" instead of "This week in your collection?" Edit: Guess here is where it starts...
  12. Congrats, Mark! Another "Collector's Pack", DC's Zero Hour this time:
  13. TY. The Knightfall books gave me an even larger lead over Naits in the registry set
  14. Situation resolved, thanks for your help everyone.
  15. I suppose you're right. I just don't like the idea of being responsible for someone ending up in the Probation list and not being able to buy/sell on the site. I don't want them nominated, I'd just like some resolution. Even if the answer is just "I don't want to sell my comics to you". I'd be disappointed, but that would be enough to end it for me. I don't understand being intentionally avoided. The seller was "cheetah", and the sales thread was here: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=5491537&fpart=5 I posted the first "Take It" on 3/4/12, sent the first PM inquiry on 3/31/12, the second on 4/23/12, the third on 4/28/12 and then as suggested earlier here, on 4/29/12 sent an entirely new PM copying the contents of the first PM string in its entirety with a link to the sale and a note saying I was just making sure they hadn't accidentally removed themselves from the previous PM. Only the PM from 3/31/12 was read. Even the new PM from 4/29/12 was not.
  16. As a buyer, I've always been contacted by the sellers first. As a seller, I have always made sure to contact the buyer first. Perhaps it was my mistake in assuming this was normal etiquette. I had started with a fresh PM, not the one which had been used to contact the seller during the sale as in inquiry about whether or not they had certain other items to add to the order. I have just now sent another PM, quoting the previous one and explaining that I was doing so to make sure they hadn't accidentally removed themselves from the previous PM. I'm fairly certain this is not the case, however, because it tells you at the bottom of the PM when someone has removed themselves. Guess if there is no answer to this PM and no one has any other suggestions, I'll just forget about it and move on.
  17. I agree, but without answers to my PMs, I'm not seeing a way to find out their side of the story, which is what I was asking advice for.
  18. I'm not looking to nominate someone, just looking for advice... There was a sale here about two months ago. I posted the "Take It" on several items. After waiting a month, I PM'd the seller politely asking about the sale. The PM was read but not responded to. I waited another three weeks and PM'd again, expressing my confusion as to the lack of a response and asking if the seller still wanted to make the sale. Despite the board member continuing to be quite a prolific poster here, the PM wasn't even read. As much as I want the items, I'd settle for just a response saying the sale was off, or how to pay, whatever... Advice?
  19. One of only seven 9.8s on the Census, and the third appearance (?) of the Spider-Man "clone"... And some more Ben Reilly related drek...
