  1. Ron Frenz is great by his own right, but with Brett Breeding on inks he becomes a Celestial ! Amazing DPS !
  2. Hi guys, A little big something is on it's way: http://qurls.com?i=54295 As a big fan of the (underrated)1992 retooling of the Justice League books, I'm happy to add yet another key piece from it's introduction. This piece was first used for an official "Justice League month" tie-in T-shirt, which was advertised alongside the various books which came out that month (not too often for a shirt to by hyped in house ads and such). The art later (?) appeared as the cover for COMICS SCENE #26. The issue had some great interviews and previews relating to the (then) recharging of the Justice League and is a fun read. The characters appearing here don't represent a specific line-up, but feature a mix some of the more popular members of Justice League America and Justice League Europe. I consider this as one of the best representatives of Ron Randall's art from that era - having a bit of stylistic continuity with Bart Sears (it didn't hurt that it was kept by Sears usual inker, Randy Elliott), but having a more "grounded" style which hearkens a bit to Adam Hughes and Kevin Maguire's past works. The positioning is a straight forward group shot, with Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Flash and Aquaman front and center (a la SUPER FRIENDS), but the characters themselves are truly well drawn, filled with enough nuances and expression to keep things interesting and give you a hint about the personalities of those people. I hope you'd enjoy it as much as I do and please check the 'additional images' for scans of the published cover and the actual T-shirt. As always, comments are welcome and appreciated ! Thanks for taking a look, Gal
  3. Beautiful watch ad !! An image I'll never forget (no matter how hard I'll try)...
  4. Brett Breeding's inks ? I love them ! They're a great match to Ron Frenz' pencils.
  5. It looks like this thread helped a few folks, so I'll give it another try... I'm looking for the following Dan Jurgens & Brett Breeding (?) pieces; Trading card (VS system): Cover: Trading card (WIZARD): Also - I'm looking for anything and everything involving Kerry Gammill and Superman... My direct e-mail is: galschwart@gmail.com Thanks, Gal
  6. AMAZING first page !! I'm afraid I can't tell who's the artist on this fantastic piece - Deodeto ? Tex ?
  7. I posted this a couple of years ago in another thread on this topic, but there has been a development, so here is again (with an update); My first OA purchase was actually one of my smartest buys: http://qurls.com?i=49105 Batman Shadow Of The Bat #1, page 15 - the 1st appearance of Mr. Zsasz ! by the super talented Norm Breyfogle. It's origins: Back at 2005 (or late 2004), I'd finally figured out that I could actually interact with some of the heroes/artists of my youth via the magic of the interenet. Landing on Norm Breyfogle's website and message board and was really excited "meeting" him and chatting with him for the first time. While browsing the galleries in his website I was surprised to have found out that many of the pages posted online were actually offered for sale and for some VERY reasonable prices. Then I made the plunge and decided to pick one out of hundreds (?) of amazing pages by one of my all-time favorite artists. I decided to settle on a page from the first SHADOW OF THE BAT arc. Obviously, all the main splashes were already gone by then, but one of the available "quieter" pages had something very special about it - the very first very first "appearance" and mention of a major Bat-villain ! The thing is - he appeared caged in a box, with only a small window, from which you could only see his mouth... a great mystery buildup... but not much of an "appearance". Zsasz finally made his full appearance in the next issue, where he revealed his scarred body in a shocking scene which in my mind remains a "game changer" when it comes to Batman comics. (when I read it in the '90s it was this moment that transferred this tale and villain from a "standard" Batman story into the VERTIGO realms... You also couldn't get a more "full" appearance than this - with only a very well placed word balloon keeping this page code approved. I CRAVED for that other page with Zsasz's full appearance (and nagged Norm about it), but that other page was long gone. Finally,I decided to just be happy with having the actual, listed, 1st appearance, thinking I'd probably never see the "other" page outside it's published form (and recognizing the opportunity still at hand). Some years and many pieces later, I thought I'd somehow completed the circle when I'd bought the Batman: Shadow Of The Bat poster artwork (which was originally published when the first issue saw light): http://qurls.com?i=50980 A good companion to my Shadow Of The Bat #1 page and a fitting compensation and replacement for losing that other Zsasz page "forever"... I was satisfied. And suddenly, just a few short months later, the actual page I was wanting ever since I started collecting original art, popped up on EBay (!!!!). A real OMG moment for me. To me, this page wasn't just a "big one", but THE "big one". Sorry guys, but there couldn't have been a real competition, I had to have it. Now it resided in my gallery, alongside the other parts of the 'Shadow Of The Bat' trinity: http://qurls.com?i=51031 The page had really brought me to a full circle and for a while I even entertained the notion of quitting the never ending chase after more pieces, being please with what I already have had. As to be expected, I caved in as the bug was stronger than me... Thank you for sharing your "origin" stories, I really enjoyed them (as I have enjoyed the art. As always, I really enjoy your comments and thoughts (though I can only read your comments, not your thoughts...). Best, Gal
  8. This is a beautiful start to a to a life-changing addiction ! Welcome - great to have you among the addicts ! The page is a very nice Colan page, with the impressive moody Scarecrow panels being my favorite part.
  9. I haven't followed the title, but I'm a big fan of Jackson Guice and the inks here are incredible !!
  10. This looks so interesting ! Now I'll have to pick up the book ! Congrats on getting this art which may very well lead into me reading comics again !
  11. A bump (as I still got no clue about the first one) and yet another addition to my 'want list': With any lead on those two - please e-mail me at: galschwart@gmail.com Thanks, Gal
  12. Hi guys, There's a piece of original art I've been desperately trying to locate: the Superman Blue trading card art, created for WIZARD magazine (scan attached): The art is by Dan Jurgens & Brett Breeding. I've already been in contact with Dan (it's not in his current inventory), and I hope to hear back from Brett's rep. I'd be very honored to add this one to my collection, so if you might have it or have any clue or lead to it's whereabouts - I'd be very thankful. Thank you, Gal Schwartz
  13. That used to hang in the DC comics offices editorial floor. Very cool tipbid ! Maybe our guy (Dave?) could contact the editors...
