  1. Thanks, man ! I actually wasn't looking to sell, but to entertain trading.. which I'm still open to, so if you wish to try to work something out, feel free to drop me a line...
  2. Hi guys, I'd love to buy or trade early work by Howard Porter, like Underworld Unleashed pinups/promos, trading card artwork, JLX stuff, etc... Please e-mail me at: galschwart@gmail.com Thanks, Gal
  3. Hi guys, I don't have funds to start 2019 with a new purchase, so I thought to offer one of my better pages to entertain a trade; https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1367159 Offered here is the title page to FLASH ANNUAL #5, which marks the 1st or 2nd published work or Travis Charest and probably his best published piece to feature DC characters. Shown here are the origins of both Barry Allen and Wally West, as well as a truly great Flash running image. I'm looking to trade it for great examples of artists mentioned in my CAF want list. Thanks, Gal
  4. Norm approached me in 2016, mentioning this piece, while actually locating and scanning it in 2017, so it was indeed years. Since Norm was already post stroke, I didn't want to be pushy (regarding shipping) as I wasn't sure what physical toll it would require of him. While he offered to ship quickly, I told him to take his time with it. Also, he told me he might have some other items he would be able to locate and possibly offer to me to purchase (he even got to scan a few), so I figured maybe I might buy another one down the line and have both items shipped together at some point . I thought "there's always tomorrow" ...until there wasn't...
  5. The family has acknowledged that the piece was supposed to be sent to me (by Norm) and said they'd send it my way if they ever locate it. I'm thankful for that. Also, Norm himself had stated publicly (on a FB post of his) that he'd sold that piece to me (he approached me and offered it to me to begin with...), I even helped him stitch the scans on Photoshop so we could both post it online (he did on FB and I did on CAF) and of course the purchase is well documented. There's no need to negotiate ownership, I just want it to be known that I'm looking for it and whoever has it at hand should contact me so we could resolve the matter. As for the refund - I paid Norm and not his family, so I don't feel comfortable trying to ask them for a refund, especially if they don't have the art to keep in return. I look at this piece as a memento from Norm as a friend, he approached me with it and I was happy to become its supposed caretaker, I had no plans of reselling it and once I (hopefully) get it, I'm hoping to keep it for the long haul. Thank you for taking the time to address it and I hope I could soon update with a resolution, in the meantime, any further advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Gal
  6. Not looking to overcomplicate anything, I wanted to let it be known that I was looking for it, hoping anyone who might have some information could chime in. Norm was a friend and I don't wish to overburden his family (who seem to be nice people). Thanks, Gal
  7. As far as I know as of now, the family didn't locate the art. Its current whereabouts is a mystery to me as well.
  8. Hi all, A few months ago we've lost the great Norm Breyfogle, who I was honored to be a friend of (and a fan of for many years). A wonderful artist and a kind soul. I'm addressing the OA community, in hope to find a resolution for one matter, revolving a piece of original art; In early 2017, Norm Breyfogle sold me this piece (see attachment) and even mentioned it publicly in a post on his personal Facebook wall. I can provide all the documentation of the purchase, and also the messages of Norm Breyfogle which also reaffirm it. Upon my request, he held off shipping it, so sadly, it was never shipped to my address. Whoever currently holds this piece of artwork, I'd be very thankful if you could please PM me or e-mail me at: galschwart@gmail.com so we could sort out the details regarding this matter quickly. I'll be happy to provide my shipping address and cover shipping costs again. I'd appreciate any further help in resolving this. Much thanks, Gal

  13. THE BUYER'S GUIDE FOR COMIC FANDOM #356 cover, illustrated by Jackson Butch Guice. A rare early appearance of Star-Lord (Peter Quill of Guardians Of The Galaxy). Illustrated in 1979, published in 1980: http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1480418

  15. The cool part is that I didn't initially commission it, my inquiry about the character somewhat inspired Derec to create the piece shortly after (it wasn't a predone art). He was kind to offer it to me and obviously I jumped at the opportunity (as I'm sure it'd have been snagged in minutes had I not). For those interested, Derec created a cool video showing the inking process of the piece: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/244463054 Cheers, Gal
  16. Hi guys, I wanted to share with you my first commission (of sorts) story: The fantastic artist Derec Donovan (who for years went by the pen and brush name 'Derek Aucoin'), posted some cool examples of his commission work on a FB post, on which I've commented; Since I owned a Superman vs Doomsday published page he'd drawn back in 1996, I asked him whether he'd tackled the character ever since. He couldn't recall when exactly was the last time he drew Doomsday (thought he'd just done a few panels with him). I didn't want to bother him all too much, so out of curiosity (nerdism) I started looking up my old issues of his run on ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN in search for another Doomsday, but came up with nothing. Lo and behold - the next day, I got a message from Derec with this incredible all-new piece he'd just finished drawing ! Of course I've had to have it ! I never thought I'd dip my toes in the commissioning pool, but this wonderful experience made me finally understand the excitement and joy of this side of the hobby. So here is Superman vs Doomsday, 22 years later (or is it 21 ?): http://www.comicartfans.com/galleryPiece.asp?Piece=1462444&GSub=0&GCat=5981&UCat=5981 Cheers, Gal
  17. Hi guys, This piece is a guilty pleasure buy; BATMAN CHRONICLES #10 page 33, illustrated (and written !) by Gary Frank & Cam Smith: http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1452359 I'm a BIG fan of GOTHAM's version of Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot, and when I saw this page pop up, I was amazed to find GOTHAM's version of Penguin appearing in an actual comicbook, many years before the show was evenconceived ! Am I the only one seeing the uncanny resemblance ? Here's the panel in question (the full page is in my CAF gallery):
  18. Hi guys, This one is on the way; DETECTIVE COMICS #678 page 3, illustrated by Graham Nolan and Bob McLeod. This issue predated FLASHPOINT by 11 years and dealt with a very similar high concept: http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1451240 Best, Gal
