  1. You might find this interesting..... Classics Illustrated Site
  2. Are the cover artists on those Classics identified anywhere? I own one....an Invisible Man, but I'm sure it's not worth much.
  3. Welcome to the Boards! Nice book, veerry nice book!
  4. Mucho grande Kudos to one of the best guys on the boards....Burntboy! Thus did Harry, deliver into the hands of the Crimson One.....the two tablets....Avengers 9 and Avengers 10 9.0s both. Thus Spake Sid, of the Luncheonette! Shipping so fast, the mailman needed a tissue to clean up his nosebleed. Red Hook
  5. I had my eye on the Scarecrow book,.......I prefer it to the other one you listed. Good pick up!
  6. Well, you could always scan it and sell it to me! hee hee. The 6.5 is the top graded, I believe. Actually, just checked, yours is second, there is an 8.5 out there!
  7. THAT is one of the toughest to find. What grade is your keeper copy?
  8. I did see that......that wouldn't have discouraged me from getting a book like this.
  9. Despite some mc.....it looks a lot better than a 5.0! That must be one of John Buscema's earliest pieces for Marvel/Atlas. Man, could that guy draw!
  10. I thought I would bend the rules (I'm famous for that), and post a new addition to my Avengers set from an "as-yet-unrecognized" pedigree, the Sid's Luncheonette Collection, owned by our own Burntboy. I'll be adding Avengers #10 also. My registry set is composed of about half pedigree books, and I knew I wouldn't be satisfied until I added one of Harry's books. I ended up with two. Gotta' tell you....the books in my collection that I appreciate the most are the ones I've acquired from friends on the boards, like Harry, Greggy, Shin, Eric123.... Avengers #9 is one of the tougher in the run to find high grade, and Harry's books definitely exhibit a freshness and clean appearance that is often better than the grade. And since these come from a single owner collection, the slabs that come directly from Harry (or from pedigree.com) have escaped a lot of the "travel weariness" that slabs that have been shipped back and forth seem to accumulate and that have raised such discussion on the boards recently. I can't think of another book recently that I spent so much time just enjoying having, and diggin the cool cover. The #10 is a 9.0 also.
  11. And you'll sell it to me for, how much? Love that yellow.
  12. Actually, it could also imply that the women are a hell of a lot more intelligent than the men.
  13. Nochips sold me my first Green River. He's a pusher man, watch out!
  14. Hmmm......split cover. That's a goodie!
  15. A great buy! I was suprised to find that there is actually a 9.2 in the census, and one other 9.0. Can't see either of them looking much nicer than your copy.
  16. Holy CRAPOLA! Either you've got some real problems, or your priorities are WAAAAYYY out of whack... But FF....he'd still have one LEFT??!!!!!!
  17. JiveMo.......that is one of the few books I have seen on these boards over the last year that actually raised my pulse! I love seeing it every time you post it. GARGANTUS ROCKS! NEVER.....EVER.....LET IT GO! Okay....I'm calming down. It is just a gorgeous cover, with the partly submerged monster handled beautifully. Huzzah! I don't remember if you've posted the info before, but how did you acquire it....and give us a ball park figure for what it cost you (if you don't mind). A keeper! Red PS....I think this one might be a case of Ditko inking Kirby's cover pencils.
  18. Now that cover screams for a "Write your own caption" contest. What lame dialogue! The art is ok though......
  19. Here is one you don't see every day.......one of only six in the census at this time. Acquired through highgradecomics.com Note, the scan was done in two pieces, so the label area appears slightly brighter than the book.
  20. BTW...not only is it a classic book, it's one of the rare 5 Cent varients! WOW!
  21. Maybe I should change my name to RRRHED HHHOOK! It's a monstrous idea, I admit... BBBONDSSS25. Has a nice ring.
  22. And let's not forget that hard-to-find story...."The Man in the Roach Motel".
