  1. I know,.....it almost felt like a "Buy Two, Get One Free", kinda sale.
  2. Yeah, that is a great looking book! Congrats Steve! And a decent price as I recall!
  3. You mean you bought it off ComicLink and are going to consign it to Pedigree? Brilliant!
  4. You know, that might have been just about the first copy I bought off the stands too. I'm in the minority but I like Don Hecks covers, even if Kirby did the Capt America on that #35 I believe.
  5. Reminds me of that old Neil Young song...."The Label and the Damage Done".
  6. Shin's certificates..... And by the way, I laid the books out on top of my oak flat file, where I keep all my artwork (illustration art that I have done), posters, etc. I'd love to see anyone elses similar photos of some of their pedigree groupings.
  7. And by the way, I want to "thank" Nochips for selling me my first pedigree book, the Avengers 22 Green River CGC 8.5 last year, and starting me down the road to ruin. As it turned out, that book had originally been owned by Shin Kao (small world) and came with one of Shin's beautiful certificates, which he goes to a lot of trouble to produce for each GR that leaves his hands..... That was one of the reasons I got hooked. I had no idea what the Green River pedigree was all about until this book arrived in my mail.
  8. Finally, an odd little collection of Tales to Astonish Green Rivers....another of my favorite titles when I was a kid. I always loved those split panel covers! Grades here are all over the place.....top row left to right.... 8.0, 8.5, 9.0, 9.0......bottom row....left to right......5.5 (!), 7.5, 9.0. So it's not about the highest grades, it's about books I really love. I like the idea of in a small way, reconnecting some of the books that originally came from one collection. Hope these pix were of interest. Red Hook
  9. Next up (of course) my Avengers Green Rivers......... Grades are all over the place....starting left to right top row....... 8.0, 8.5, 9.4, bottom row L to R....9.4, 9.2, 9.6
  10. In another thread somewhere someone asked about runs of pedigrees I believe....so I thought it would be fun to take a couple of shots of the best runs I have.......really bad photos, but I also remember a thread where we laid them out just like I used to do in my room when I was a kid. So, for better or worse here's the first of three shots..... Avengers Pacific Coasts.....all 9.4 except the #65 which is a 9.2.
  11. Boy, that Curator guy/gal sure knew what he/she was doing when it came to preserving books!
  12. Guess they could call it the "Daddy's Little Boys" Collection.
  13. While we're on the subject of pedigrees, check out this Ebay listing I stumbled across that claims to be a book from another Killer Collection........ The Eric & Lyle Menendez Pedigree What next, the Charlie Manson Harvey File Copy Collection?
  14. I love that 44!.....used to have it.....the detail in the gun, glove and face of the Nazi officer turned towards the reader is fab. Severin was a real master.
  15. Yikes! You should have warned me to put on my sunglasses first! What a blazer! WOW!
  16. My latest GR.....thanks to a headsup from BOC!
  17. Sweeet! I don't know anything about the origins of that pedigree? Do you have any information you could share about it?
  18. Well, Dad Stevens went a little stamp crazy on the slabbed one....has two stamps....he had a talent for finding the most blatant places to stamp the arrival dates.
  19. The Stevens brothers used to grab multiples of the 25 centers apparently because they thought they could get more dough when they sold them. Here is another copy of the Superman Annual (not mine). Forget where I grabbed this scan.......
