  1. I know this is changing the topic, but have you guys ever discussed the DC series Night Force by Gene Colan & Marv Wolfman? I have a complete run I bought off the stands, but what's your opinion? Is it to be loathed or loved? I remember reading them and feeling they were kinda wishy washy. Need to take a look at them again. Opinions?
  2. A tip of Redhook's cap to Murph for the heads up on a GR! Much appreciated!
  3. Thanks to Eric123 for a great transaction and for helping me add Avengers #6 to my run!
  4. Kudos to Greggy for allowing me to welcome two Green Rivers into the Family! Nuclear bomb proof packaging! Right there with Shin's.
  5. And thanks to Shin Kao for passing some great books my way, at fair prices and packaging them like they were the Shroud of Turin! You rock, dude!
  6. Kudos to Darth for directing me to a seller who had a great Daredevil 15 9.4 Green River. Thanks Darth! Even though Darth does say that Green Rivers are a dime a dozen.......
  7. I'm not kidding...you're gonna' get a visit from Aunt Flo!
  8. Hey, will you guys knock it off, or do you want Time of the Month Guy to start naggin' your asses?
  9. It does? What friggin' kind a sci-fi you readin' boy?
  10. Hi Guys.......figure with the horror fans in this thread.......you might be interested in this thread over in the water cooler about a very creepy project.... The Hole Check out my post in that thread where I mention two of my favorite offbeat horror novels.. The Cipher by Kathi Koja & House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski Just figured I'd link to it in case it was under your radar.
  11. (Okay, Joanna, I promised I wouldn't do this but.....I really want to see how quick the lads are to line up with responses to this......) So, okay......I am Month Guy. I assume that means I only come twelve times a year?? (Please, no pushing and shoving....just take a number......)
  12. I am........not worthy! Thanks Joanna! My first Crisis appearance. I haven't felt like this since the day of my Bar Mitzvah (especially since I'm a Lutheran!) Kudos! Red/Brad
  13. Try clay-based kitty litter. Make sure the comic is protected (cardboard between it and the litter, bagged but open, and then seal it in a box with the kitty litter. Just make sure the kitty doesn't get near it.....
  14. Hi Sid, Don't feel bad. I would NEVER try to make the case that Charltons compare to DCs or Marvels. That wasn't my intent. I suspect Shiver agrees. They can be pretty cheesy. The QP is basically non-existant. But consider them cult-comics. And I am truely fascinated by their place in the Steve Ditko ouevre............plus, they just have that Bizarro World - Something's-Off-Here quality. Sometimes cheesy and camp can be fun. But I would never try to convince you they outrank the other lines.
  15. Thought I'd pop us something different and show you a Ditko splash page from the June 1970 issue The Many Ghosts of Doctor Graves. I think this page is as good as any Ditko ever did. Great atmosphere, and I love the statuary all around.
  16. Fireman - Burn my Child! Man, that is cruel sounding! Thanks for the scan Doc.
  17. Any chance we could see a scan of the Ditko splash page in that book?
  18. OH, MAN SHIVER, that cover is a freakin' HORROR HOME RUN! GREAT! I actually had chills running up and down my spine! That creature HAS to be someones avatar someday!
  19. These are both 50 years old, but I thought I'd pop them up just to provide some historical context. The original run, with covers and interior art by Simon & Kirby. I think the DC versions with the Simon/Kirby covers are reprints. Creepy stuff. These are two of the half dozen oldest books I own.
  20. Thanks Guys I will run down some of those issues and give them a try. And Shiver, I can't WAIT to see the site. Sounds FAB!
  21. Actually yeah, it would be great to get some specific recommendations regarding issues with good stories. If I read another Joe Gill story this week my head will explode. (Hmmmm, interesting comic book horror plot possiblity right there......reading comic........head...explodes.......ok, guys, I'll get back to you!) By the way, Shiver, is your site going to be based on your personal collection or will you attempt to make it more all-encompassing? I swear, between the folks on the board, we could launch the best ever Bronze Horror site!
  22. Great Stuff Greggy! How are the stories? The Charlton stories are pretty....um......bad. I've never read DC horror.
  23. Gee, maybe he should have offered it to xmansx first!
