  1. I thankfully didn't engage in a transaction with this person, but this is an insufficiently_thoughtful_person who is probably best not dealt with. He sends me this unsolicited message regarding one of my items. Apparently the $250 OBO price tag on a CGC 9.9 book offended his sensibilities.
  2. Good question, and it depends on the definition of "successful." I think the answer might be Runaways in 2003 and Alias in 2001. Not that either property has been continuously published since inception, but both are popular with fans and are getting multimedia exposure. I'm not sure this can be done in todays market for two reasons: 1) A $3.99 or $4.99 comic featuring a completely unknown character/concept is a tough sell these days. Retailers won't take a chance on it meaning it would be doomed to cancelation six issues in. 2) Writers and artists don't want to create new characters that Disney/Marvel will ultimately own. Why do that when they can take their great concept to Image or another publisher and own 100% of it? This is the real reason why we're seeing so many derivative characters. There's a way around this...take a C or D-List established character that already exists and make them better. This is what Grant Morrisson did for DC in the 80s with Animal Man and what Ryan North and Erica Henderson are doing with Squirrel Girl at Marvel right now.
  3. The Pride has been cast: https://news.marvel.com/tv/59437/marvels-runaways-sets-remaining-cast-television-project-hulu/ I think this show is shaping up pretty well so far. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
  4. The current economics of the industry are such that Marvel can't really afford the true A+ talent, at least when it comes to writers. The BKVs and Ed Brubakers make more on their Image books than they ever could with Marvel.
  5. The CCS turnatound times are problematic. Have been for a while now.
  6. If they do yet another relaunch with a ton of variant covers for each #1 they are just doing more of the same. Less is more in more ways than one. Less titles, less linewide crossovers, and - for the love of Pete - stop it with the ratio variants.
  7. A small scratch wouldn't bother me, but I guess "small" is subjective. I can't say I've experienced debris in the new case though.
  8. It might get lowered to the 8.0 range with that tear if it's otherwise a 9.4.
  9. Here's one to add to your blocked list: thegeekpass He purchased some action figures from me and left positive feedback once they arrived: "Great Seller" Done deal? Not so fast, my friend. A week or so later he starts a return request on eBay. Didn't contact me beforehand, just requested a return. The reason he chose for the return was "Ordered by mistake" and in the freeform comments he wrote "Long story." I contacted him to see what was up and this was the exchange: Your previous message Hi. I noticed you requested a return for this sale. Can you please let my know why you want to return these items? You left positive feedback upon receipt, so I assumed you were satisfied. Thank you. thegeekpass: There is no real problem it was great transaction there is just a personal issue. If you can't return them or if there is a problem let me know I'm guessing buyer's remorse or his wife/girlfriend/mom said he can't have any more toys. eBay made the buyer pay for return shipping, which is good. But I'm still out the original shipping charge, not to mention my time dealing with this yahoo.
  10. Three words: No more variants... Or at least no more ratio variants.
  11. Over 100 items listed in my eBay store with some good deals to be had: http://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=&_ssn=madgeniusscripts&_sop=16 Boardies get 10% off the listed price. PM me for details.
  12. Thanks for the info. The pieces I'm considering were penciled digitaly, so the physical pencils do not exist. The price asked would appear to be full price for the penciller's work so that is why I'm hesitating.
  13. Correct, penciller and inker are two different people. If I buy the piece, it would be for the penciller's art, not the inker's.
  14. My apologies if this has been discussed before, but how does the OA Collecting community value pencils produced digitally and then physically inked on an art board? I see a couple of pieces for sale from an artist I like, but the pencils were done digitally and then inked by another artist prior to publication. I'm of two minds on this: it's a bummer that the penciller didn't physically "touch" the piece of art that is for sale. On the other hand, it IS the finished art that was used for publication and still a one of a kind piece in that respect. Thoughts?
  15. Hi Mollie, Thanks for getting the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl (Complete) set up and running so quickly. Can you please add Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #12 Cosplay Variant and Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #15 to the set? Thanks!
