  1. Hello Everyone! Just a few lots of books this time around. For those who do not know me feel free to check out my kudo's thread. The rules… First unconditional in thread wins it. by PM or an agreed on PM deal must be posted in the thread by either the buyer or myself for validation. Unfortunately for those wishing to remain anonymous this may mean losing out because I may not be able to update the thread in time. I certainly prefer the old time stamp method but given the new board software this method gives a level playing field for everyone. My thanks to the board members who worked this out. Paypal is always welcome, (no personal payments). Etransfers in Canada are welcome as well. No one from the HOS or probation list please. I also reserve the right to decide who I sell to. Shipping for raw books from Canada… I can ship 1-3 books in Canada/USA for $13 by tracked package which has tracking and insurance. Over 3 books shipping will be $20-25 in Canada/USA by expedited parcel which includes tracking and insurance. I will pack well and always refund any shipping over-payment. Returns... Returns accepted for 14 days from the date of receipt. If I missed something then return shipping is on me, if you simply changed your mind then no worries but the return shipping is on you. Refund will be issued upon the books safe return. I do work but I can get back to you within a few hours by PM so please feel free to ask any questions and thanks for taking a look
  2. CGC will grade it as delicious, if not somewhat stale.
  3. Well I was late getting at season 2 but finally watched it over the last couple of weeks. I really enjoyed season 1 but I was blown away by season 2. It just kept getting better and better. Pike was awesome! They were all awesome. Very cinematic in scope. Looking forward to what's ahead.
  4. Not really for my part in that I think they can compliment each other - both as artists trying to make art as opposed to entertainment. I think it's playing the role of the Joker that can bring different things from different actors. I'd love to see a Joker trilogy with a different actor/actress for the Joker in each film exploring different facets of the character. I'm sure it would be a commercial bomb (but they wouldn't have to cost much) and it could be brilliant.
  5. This definitely looks like it is going to be a different experience than the norm lately. Pretentious artsy-fartsy bore is my wheelhouse!
  6. The days of movie critics making or breaking a film are long gone. I notice nobody else here has really ventured a guess on this movie's box office, so I'll be the first. Unfortunately, these critics are confirming my worst impressions of this film from the trailers that it is a pretentious artsy-fartsy bore. Its R-rating and lack of general audience appeal will be somewhat offset in the first week by the "Joker" name recognition. $40MM-$50MM domestic opening, topping out at $200MM-$250MM worldwide due to scant international audience interest. -J. I'm in! (referring to bolded)
  7. I can never express it enough... Kirby Thanks for all the posts @KirbyJack and everyone else!
  8. Just like Man of Steel as the best Superman movie is an opinion but definitely not a fact. I'll say Man of Steel is an okay movie full of missteps like Clark Kent uncharacteristically ruining a trucker's entire livelihood just for being a jerk or Pa Kent committing suicide to prove a point, but Superman the Movie is the only truly great Superman movie. The world is big enough for more than one interpretation of Superman, especially after all these years. Donner's Superman is a classic but so is MoS for many. Michael Shannon is just amazing in this movie.
  9. Ultimately, either studio really doesn't needs the other. Sony can make some great movies without the MCU distractions and Marvels strength has been mining the IP they already own.
  10. There is a very good book that came out 15 years ago or so about the Marvel bankruptcy. You're right, those licensed film rights kept Marvel Comics (the publisher) from folding. Had Sony and Fox and Universal (theme park rights!) not written big checks to Marvel (the publisher), we could have seen the IP (I'm referring to the non-film IP) migrate to DC or other publishers. Not very different from what happened to Fawcett. Comic Wars by Dan Raviv.
  11. I like the idea of Disney not owning everything (I know they don't own Spidey's rights). Despite marvels success, there have been excellent movies from (the former) Fox/WB and Sony. Some of them better then anything Disney has done - for me at least - and I'm not putting them down, their success is well deserved and I have enjoyed much of their catalogue. But, I will say Spider-man was a distraction for me in IW and EG, I just ignored it (the suit and Stark's influence) the best I could and enjoyed the movies for what they were. Sony still has made the best Spider-man movie to date in Raimi's Spider-Man 2 and Ito the Spider Verse was awesome.
  12. I have a wait and see approach to this movie but where Kirby is concerned, it could end up being a great movie but still not near his standard. Great post by the way.
  13. Unfortunately, I think a cash discount got mixed in with no PayPal personal, even though they are not even remotely the same thing.
  14. Zach did a great job with Watchmen and Man of Steel. MoS is one of my favorite movies in the genre. He certainly has my appreciation.
  15. Whenever I'm feeling a little mean at work, I just walk over to someone, sing a few bars of copa cabana and walk away. Great pictures Robert! Glad you had a chance to eat at Prince Albert's. Virginia, Sallie and I have gone there quite often over the years but for a while, that picture of Kramer used to freak Sallie out! Cheers!
  16. I'm going to stick to my comment from the modern thread concerning this show. I really think you are going to need some really out there/brilliant directors to even approach the quality of the comics. It is really hard for me to imagine anyone doing justice to these stories otherwise.
  17. Bet you most people bashing them haven't even seen them.
  18. This book is a good read and Conan has picked up some traction with the Marvel reboot but $56.00 I don't think this book comes up very often in grade.
  19. So the options are someone can post in your feedback thread that you failed to ship a comic one day after he posted the and you can respond in the same thread, or that person nominates you for the PL list (which to my knowledge takes no vote or anything else) for the same 'transgression' and has total power over what circumstances there are for you to get off the PL list. This isn't ebay where someone can 'neg' you. All they can do is provide the feedback message 'I ordered a comic from Mr Sneeze yesterday and it hasn't shipped yet'. I think if I saw that in a feedback I would not want to deal with the buyer, not you. From my perspective, I see this as an added layer of stuff that I don't really want to deal with. When I run a large sales thread it is taking up most of my spare time as it is so I don't see a benefit from the potential of having to deal with time wasting threads. The point you make is valid (bolded) but it still drags my name through the mud in a sense. Again, I will say, I think the sales forums work well as they are and I think the PL nomination section is adequate for bringing negative transactions/feedback to light. I know the kudos thread is not important for most but I think it still helps for new people to show they have a few successful transactions under their belts. At least it's important to them as it was to me when I first signed up. I don't know Buzz personally but he is always a positive presence on the boards.
  20. It's why I stopped caring about a feedback thread for these boards... Who cares? If people are only allowed to tell me how great I am then it doesn't matter. The rules to get on the PL and the HOS as well as the feedback forum were pushed for and decided a LONG time ago by some people that are still active here but also by some who have not been seen in quite some time. Perhaps it is time for a change. As members come and go, board culture changes. Perhaps the rules that fit the boards 15 years ago may no longer be as effective as they could be given the culture today. For what little it's worth, I think there is a good reason for the way things are now and have been for over 15 years. I consider myself a conscientious seller/buyer as is almost everyone I have dealt with on the boards over the years, at least that is my experience here. But I have to ask myself, do I really want to open myself up to negative feedback from someone who just joined from a facebook group or ebay and is ragging me out becuase they don't have their book in their hands a day after they put up their . Absolutely not! I think negative feedback would open up a can of butt hurt so big it would likely result in moderation shutting the sales forums down, because who would want to deal with the mess. One of the great things about selling/buying here is that the people are knowledgeable about comics and grading, know how to ship, have realistic expectations on receiving items and mostly work with each other and give each other the benefit of the doubt when problems arise. When things don't get solved we have... the PL, which for my part works fine... mostly. This is a difficult case but for me the seller does not belong on the PL because he issued an immediate refund but he certainly belonged in the PL nomination thread which is where we can find most negative feedback on the boards. I personally can't imagine a better way to deal with negative feedback than the PL nomination forum. I don't think the sky is falling here.
  21. I think they have in mind to develop Paste-Pot Pete in the adult film industry. Disney is leaving no stone unturned.
  22. Kind of happy about this really as for me at least, I have little interest in seeing well known comic arcs on the big screen (I have already enjoyed them). I want new stories if possible and please hold the origin stories.
  23. I think Natalie Portman is a great actor. Look forward to seeing another installment of the Thor franchise. I have liked them all and they get better each time IMHO. Ragnarok was a blast!
