  1. IIRC #68, which you may already have, there are 4 on the census. And the weekly #3 that's a SS 9.9. I was just having fun with ya. (thumbs u So you won that weekly SS 9.9 I thought for sure my high bid would have suffice Something told me it would go higher the second time around. I was totally shocked that I got it, I was thinking it would go for another 50 or more, and I was at my max. That was right around what I planned to use for my high bid. To think I could have won Certainly a nice score my friend

  3. Right on Jeff (thumbs u While I don't buy in quantities to warrant myself a dealer, I do purchase anything I find at my LCS that is 9.8 material. This is easier said than done, as the shop owners are usually all thumbs, plus, if I don't get in close to release, I have to deal with readers bending up the pages and covers. My goal, first and foremost, is a complete 9.8 set. In the end, It's usually cheaper for me to buy older copies already graded. For every supposed 9.8 quality back issue I've bought online, 8/10 were always overgraded Then there are people who can't pack It's very easy for the costs of collecting 9.8 books, especially if you find and grade your own, to become quite expensive.
  4. Thanks, I can't wait to send my next batch in. Hopefully I'll get a 9.8 on my next #33 2nd print for my set. Now if I could only find another #2 2nd print that is in 9.8 shape, I'd be extremely happy
  5. Here's the results of my first couple submissions The #8's are the harder to find 2nd prints, as well as the #2, 50, and 33. Very happy with what I got back, and I can't wait to send my next submission
  6. Nice find and the shape of the books are great for the price. Were they in the "dollar bins"? Back when I started collecting comic in the early eighties GI Joe was super hot and hard to find in the small town I lived in. By the nineties you couldn't give them away and lots got put in to the "dollar bin". Now It's hard to find some of the issues in nice shape. I think this happens to a lot of comics but that's just my opinion...glad to see such nice copies making it out alive Guy had four long boxes marked for a dollar a book. He had a whole lot of household goods hiding the books, I was probably the only person to ever look through them. Surprisingly, all the good books were bagged and boarded, and nearly everything was in high grade shape. I was hoping after seeing those three, there might be an issue 1 or 2 ended up with a couple McFarlane Spideys, some Miller Daredevils, amongst other goodies it was funny when I asked how much he wanted. His only idea of charging more, was if I had any issues that were #1's think I might go back this weekend and give those boxes one more look
  7. After seeing what everyone has been finding out there, I decided to hit a couple flea markets over the weekend. Found a couple McFarlane Spideys, Frank Miller Daredevil, three TMNT books, couple early Web of Spider-Man, and a Whitman The Little Monsters. Got each book for $1 except the Whitman, which cost me $2 The stand with the Whitman had some late 60's Archie books and what nots, but unfortunately, someone had written prices on the covers with a pen At least all the books that had covers Suprisingly, nearly all these books are in great shape. Mostly around NM, with a few that look pretty close to 9.8 Think I might test my luck again next weekend at some other Peddler Malls and flea markets.
  8. I scored these today at a flea market. The seller had three long boxes hidden back behind a whole load of junk. I got them for $1 each I ended up picking out 14 books, all in pretty close to NM condition, some of which will easily get a 9.8 Was rather surprised that all his good books were bag and boarded
  9. Walking Dead #1 CGC 9.9, the crown of my collection. I've nearly completed my collection in 9.8, with only a few back issues remaining to be current. As I've acquired many fine books, I now find myself looking for 9.9 and 10 upgrades. I've even started to branch into the Argentina set and the Serbian set, with a sizable order coming from Serbia. The books looked very promising, and the salesman seemed to understand my need for high quality books. Only time will tell if my recent purchases will make the grade.
