  1. That comes as a bit of a shock. I guess you have to be well grounded in that Field. I would think the positives outweigh the negatives, though. It just depends on how a person is wired.
  2. That they are. I am a bit humbled and jealous about it, so I try the shame them with old age wisdom act on them. It doesn't work.
  3. I took the survey to help a student, and that is the only reason. I found the survey prejudiced, because the age selection did not extend past 60. I would fail you on that alone. As to the questions, well, I see one glaring missing question you could have and should have asked: "Would you switch to digital or collect digital or trade digital or add digital to your collection if there was a monetary incentive and Market for same?" Get off my lawn, now.
  4. The name was actually awarded to me years ago, in place of the name I was using, by another board member. I have proudly and with humbleness tried to live up to it. To reverse paraphrase the words another board member uses (constantly), "I don't discuss. I debate".
  5. No, I am not the seller and do not know the seller or the buyer and have never had any dealings or communication with either party. What you call push back, is just an opinion. I realize it is not popular.
  6. My absolute greater concern for the seller. I have seen this scenario so many times with coin purchases, I am constantly amazed at the public propensity of non-self interest protection.
  7. I am sorry, but it is $6,000.00. It is ebay. It is 2018. The buyer was invited to the table to eat. He did. While the seller may be a schmuck, at the very least the buyer should have known that without clear shipping information, and the buyer taking the minimum precautions before concluding the purchase to protect his interests, the buyer is responsible. To now claim that it is the fault of the seller and the seller is a bad person and the buyer is in the victim column, is not only naive, it is somewhat astounding to me, given the parameters and facts stated by the buyer of what transpired. I get it. He emailed and never got an answer. So? Was that before or after the conclusion of the sale? If the buyer assumed protection would be made on his behalf, and the buyer would safeguard his funds/interest, he was and is wrong.
  8. The buyer can also avail himself of the same lake, in the eyes of the USPS. It should have...scratch that...a demand by the buyer to ship in the manner you describe was and is priority.
  9. ...The buyer is just as subject to the same description of incredible, though, in expectation of protection.
  10. Then it would be unacceptable for a buyer to agree to spend $6,000.00, advertised or not.
  11. Why would someone buy such an expensive item and not demand insurance, and registered return receipt? Did the seller list the method of shipment? If so, did the buyer read it? If so, did the buyer offer to pay for a more secure method? If the seller did not list the method, why would a buyer expect that the item would be handled in the most secure method, unless the item is not what it seems and the seller knows that?
  12. You forgot the most important civil engineering Rule: #4: Green side up.
  13. Yes, because Wednesday is the new Friday. That was posted earlier in this thread. Pay attention.
  14. Well, there was Lincoln Logs and Erector Sets, so I will give them that.
  15. Thank you. It is aglich that can be lived with. BTW, can we keep the hula hoop girl?
  16. Now we know why Japanese and Korean autos work...... Mechanical Engineering in U.S. schools is hard. It has mechanics and stuff.
  17. You have to scroll down and down and down past all the lousy B&W krap to reach all the good old stuff. But be warned that when you do, the one good old stuff you use will now go to teh top of the B&W stuff, so that the good stuff will now be in 2 places.
  18. Yes, I noticed that, and it is annoying having to scroll down and down and down past all the B&W stuff to get to the good ones. I prefer clicking on and seeing the old good stuff all lined up for me. I also worry what Kav is going to do now. I also don't like that if you scroll down and down and down to the old good stuff and use one, the one you used is then placed above all the B&W stuff, so that now all the good stuff is either at the top or the bottom.
  19. I have never met a PE that can work on his/her own car.
  20. Compared to some of the comic covers I have seen here, that is tame, and in fact much more pleasing to the eye. The Mods are reincarnations of the Inquisitors, so I can understand how they view it as a board sin. Nude comic pictorials OK, because, well, they are not real. Non-nude real life....no.
