  1. The older I get, the easier it is for me to mentally transport to my summer vacations surrounded by SA/BA comics stacked in the order I planned to read. For a time, my bedroom was the whole world, and I imagined everything outside was the Marvel Universe
  2. FWIW, having my share of back problems, I decipher this as meaning because of a spine injury, he/she cannot keep their arms elevated without support, so they lean forward with their wrists or forearms resting on their knees, and when moving hands left and right on the keyboard is required, they do so by moving their knees left and right, all to avoid lifting the arms from their support. Painkillers might explain the rest When my lower back is bad, lifting my foot from the gas to the brakes is not easy.
  3. I've done this in some situations- Usually art commissions when my impression is it's their main/only income, and rarely in comic book sale threads when my impression is they're simply trying to maximize their profit. Whether or not my impressions are right, IDK. So far no one has refused this option when I've used it, and it would be a HUGE red flag if they did.
  4. I decided to put a dent in my FF rebuild list.
  5. Here's the copy I asked Marv Wolfman to sign at the San Diego Comic Fest last March just before the nation went into quarantine. He wouldn't touch any item put before him, and kept his hand and arm off the table as he signed. Made for some funky sigs, but still a memorable moment. Near the end of the show he crossed the aisle to have a quick chat with Mike Royer, and at one point Mike went to scratch his cheek or nose, and Marv [not quite] shouts, "Don't touch your face!"
  6. How about on a business or financial level? And if you "can care less about..," that means you care at least a little.
  7. This must be a variation of the noun Shoomanfoonigans.
  8. Oops. Shoulda' posted, "Jinx! Jinx!" I don't recall any reaction to Shoomanfoo's claim that Catwomancomics' wife has the book, but did see additional requests for its location, so maybe it went unnoticed. Not that it really matters at this point.
  9. It might be because he issued the refund before you got the books, and feared you might take that as a cancellation of some kind despite the provided tracking #'s, and leaving a neg. If that's what he did, he'd do better waiting until you have the books before kindly surprising you. Still, it sounds like you're dealing with at least two personalities, so I'd drop it and hope the friendly one explains it to the hostile one(s)
  10. I've been told similar for this situation. While the extra paper is Manufacturing, the tears that somehow resulted from it would count against the grade. I'd figured they would also be considered Manufacturing, but was told 'no'.
  11. I also prefer DE over the barcode from an aesthetic POV, but I hate the DE's with the diamond price box and line through the barcode- Ugly! The diamond always makes me think of the Star Wars reprints from the original 6 issues. I do, however, completely understand the attraction of a 9.8 NS to someone who hunts for them.
  12. Maybe they think it's just automatic that it would be Richards, Grim, & Storm x2, where the X-Men have the two iconic lineups from #1 and #94. I'd be fine if they did, but I wouldn't send mine in for a new label.
  13. I'm on the fence whether or not to focus on this run, but this is what I have so far.
