This is a page from Brian Haberlin's run on Spawn, featuring fan-favorite character Nyx, along with Cyan, Wanda, and Al Simmons himself. Haberlin did most of the work digitally, then printed this out and did final tough ups on this piece. This is the final art. A hyper-detailed half-splash page from Spawn featuring the ancient Greek Olympian God hellspawn: Raenius. In the story, Raenius is the son of Cronus, and destined to overthrow Zeus. After becoming a hellspawn, Raenius teamed up with Medusa, and fulfilled his destiny. This specific page is also the source material for a Raenius action figure produced by McFarlane Toys! A fantastic half splash of Spawn by the fan-favorite team of Greg Capullo and Danni Miki! Back from issue #93, when this team was really at their high point on Spawn. Greg Capullo and Danny Miki Spawn #93 Page 20 Original Art (Image, 2000)

I competed my set of Spawn: The Dark Ages newsstands. All are high grade, with most being 9.8 (x13), plus some 9.6 (x7) and 9.4 (x8). This was a tough set to put together in this grade - took years!

Sure thing - you can find it listed on SpawnWorld here: https://www.spawnworld.com/books/covers/cvr_musings_2.htm It's a relatively obscure Spawn appearance, not very well known and not very sought after. It's a neat book to pick up for the ultra-fan though. To be clear though, it's not a comic - it's an interview with McFarlane, as well as an art gallery from McFarlane and Capullo.

Comiclink 4/15 thoughts and assessments
Lobstrosity replied to Grant Turner's topic in Original Comic Art
I'm the same. They send me wantlist emails before the scans are ready, so I often just ignore them at the time. When I do remember to check back, I put in tracking bids (which is incredibly outdated and ridiculous), but then I often forget about them again. With no bidder alerts like HA, I often don't realize when I've been outbid or even that the auction is taking place. I like that they exist, and wish they would do better, but I honestly can't understand why anyone consigns with them. -
Here's the family photo for all (US) Spawn #1 versions (plus an error and some signed books)! All are 9.8 except the error and the pesky mini comic. Searching for "The Art of Being Spawn" by Al Simmons
Lobstrosity replied to justadude's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
This release was canceled and there are no copies available. There was a lawsuit involved, and while the results are not public, the book itself was canceled. -

How long before AI is used to draw comics?
Lobstrosity replied to malvin's topic in Original Comic Art
There was a tremendous amount of CGI in Mad Max: Fury Road. -
Thanks for the tag @newshane! @ADAMANTIUM if you're specifically looking for the info on the pre-release ads, you can find my timeline here: http://spawnworld.com/features/firstappearance.htm

The listing for it is found here: http://spawnworld.com/books/crossovers/savagedragon/spawnsavagedragon01.htm There are no official print run stats, but in my experience, there are likely a lot more than 300 copies of this book. It's not common, but if you want a copy you can find one.

I need to demonstrate the job of an inker for an audience, and I would like to use examples of different inkers' work on the same pencils/page. I felt certain I had seen something like this before, but google is failing me. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

Comic book and pop culture original art exhibition
Lobstrosity replied to Lobstrosity's topic in Original Comic Art
Yes indeed - my hope was to create an opportunity to view this type of work in the middle of the country, that often doesn't get the chance. The film concept art in particular is seldom exhibited outside of places like LA & NY. (Also I was born in Nebraska, Go Big Red!)
