  1. Exactly...you can never please all the people all the time...this collection is an opportunity to get these books from a time capsule and I think some of the complaints on grading is going be forgotten at auction time. I stand by my advice, chose the book carefully and pick your battles.
  2. Promise collection competition update: The competition for these books are starting to rev up. This is what I know and have heard. There are 3 major collectors not on this board( have never been on it) that are gearing up to acquire upwards of 100 books each. Once these books added to their collection, they are gone.....for a long time. One whom I spoke to tonight sold his Gold ETF's and is ready to go, the second is converting some "pension" assets to collectables last weekend. Don't be surprised if a Auction House goes after a chuck for later resale as I know of one collector/dealer who has been mentioned on this board in the past, is planing a jump in say 50 of them for a start. What does that mean for me and you as we want to cherry pick a few great books and upgrade a few that have bothered us over many years of collecting flip them out for upgrade. As more of the collection is revealed and its balance of remains goes down, prices should increase. With a lot buyers going in, I think early is better as long as you are buying the GA. book itself.not just any 9.8 GA book or that it is a pedigree. That is the safe and sane way to approach this historic collection. Pick you battles carefully. So your completion would be a few GA whale collectors, collector dealers, and a possible auction house...along with these "new speculators". It is gonna be crowded for us true comic book collectors. It if was Billy Wright coming on board at 367 books, we would be blow out of the water...we have 5000...we have a real shot at these. Let me know if you hear any other rumblings regarding this collection.
  3. With the best website and platform second to none and this collection they are leaving CC and CL in the dust. They are taking comic books both GA/SA to the next level as this collection will break the world record price of the Billy Wright which was only 367 books...great GA books...look for $25M when all is said and done...This is great in terms of GA comic book collecting..for everyone..those who will get great deals of 6.5 books they have always wanted while other shoot for the sky with these books. I wish I had a time machine 5 years ahead...everyone is gonna say...I should of bought more... and FYI speaking of time travel..I saw a great trailer for a upcoming SF epic which has time travelers coming back 30 years to get more people to fight the alien war in the future..give it a look, great concept..."The Tomorrow War"...Amazon spent 200 million to buy it and avoid theater release to promote its platform..its great...July 2, 2021
  4. Solid Copy...of a great book...WOW
  5. Billy Wright was 367 books, a lot of which some were bought by the guy that defrauded that company. thus quick resale..this a 5000 OO amazing condition collection...apple vs orange hre
  6. I think grading is very subjective but overall so far from I have seen its been spot on 85% of the time. 5 years from today...my prediction...board members are gonna say "I should have bought more"....
  7. Prices will increase as those books for years have been underrated, you might want to check out the two Ditko marvel masterworks reprints, those books show the quality of art and story...great buys..super buys especially unrestored and ungraded books...best deal out there for SA marvels
  8. There needs to be a difference between brand new staples and replacement similar from the time period. Given this issue could cost Action #1 100's of thousand of dollars in an auction return or private sale..this item needs to on top of the CGC to do list.
  9. These ultra grade timely's are once is a lifetime, the SA books, which might cost more to replace..CAN BE REPLACED...certain books in this collection cannot unless you own a time machine..you are trading up from SA to GA to obtain non-replaceable material...it is a no brainer..this collections is a game changer on so many levels...
  10. I wonder if the CGC clue the future or buyer on that fact...new or replacment..good point
  11. Cap 1 is 1941...not much known other wise
  12. On the Berk action 1 how much decrease in value do think that staple replacement will cost the seller?
  13. I always look at any grade closely and make my own opinion, but these books are gonna have special value above normal non-special collection books and that should make up the difference in any over/under grading. You must consider, a level head at all times...but this is it, no hype needed, yes with the Berk Action #1 and Tec #38 coming on board for this it is gonna be quite special time to be a GA collector!
  14. This is it guys and gals....once in lifetime upgrade..there will be so many out there, that if you are careful and selective you can really score both collection wise and when you decide to exit look like a champion. I think very early in is the best strategy and that is why I agree with you. I do not think you will see a OO collection of 5000 GA books hit ever in our lifetimes again and its time to rumble. Time to trade up...I agree Fast Eddie
  15. What is HA waiting for...I don't understand why no announcement about this collection..they are already posting books?
  16. Mine too, Fav of the books seen so far..any idea on what price it might go for?
  17. Never had a issue with them, especially on grading.
  18. I will second that...its been that way since I was collecting and bought #83 off the newsstands, TOS 39 was a tough one
  19. I will second that thought. The books in this group are gonna impact all GA collectors. One thought, if 5000 Ga books each unique, how many different GA books were published on average each month per year say 1943.. any idea ?..we should be able to do the math as to 5000 divided into...to establish some type of years say 1941-1946?
  20. we now know some of the books, Cap 1..wre 1941...are there any 1938/39 books?
