  1. The book itself presents better with the color touch...but in terms of collectability and a premium on the price of the book, that is where I take issue
  2. I tend to disagree with water cleaning and press, and tiny amount of color touch...its the idea....and I know I am old school, that comic book is what is, when you get it off the newsstand for from a collector who has purchased the book in original condition. Unrestored should be just that..ORIGINAL condition...that was the "old" term for unrestored before the professional restoring came in or just the first few years or so. it is a real shame, that something cannot be called for what it really is or appreciated for what it really is..it degrades the impossible copy kept in a wooden chest untouched and really defines rareness rather than manufactured and getting away with some restoring or upgrading which is not called that. Today...I do not even know if any book could be original other than Mile High copies. It just takes something away for comic book itself being special....and I think and every GA collector when he holds a book in his hands thinks back to the time it was on the newsstand ...that how it used to be in the "good" old days. Today, its can I pancake it up the grade ladder and pretend it was like this all along. Good, Bad, or Indifferent things change over time...I accept it, but I don't have like it.
  3. never seen that on that issue in last 50 plus years...a true rarity
  4. Still in theory it is the comic book which is collectable, not the staple......so I don't see restoration designation to be revenant.
  5. It has been a heck of year...start on New Years eve early...why not..
  6. staple replacement with similar staples...has nothing to do with the book itself as long as the staples are from the same era...I know I complain about pressing the book...but rusty staples can ruin a book...replace if necessary to save book....
  7. what is the point of pressing a GA/SA comic book...to "game" the grading system and get the grade pumped up on steroids. The comic book was not created to be pressed, page enhanced...unrestored should be just that.... restoration to newsstand condition by pressing...and grade enhancing...its a shame, the real 9.8 untouched gets to be lumped in with a jacked up GA/SA comic dilute the true Ga/SA census and true Ga/SA comic book value.
  8. I think any alteration of a GA comic book is restoration, they just call it a different name...since that generates revenue.
  9. As Dave from storage wars would say...Yeeppp..I have been there and done that too many times..
  10. great comparison here, clearly the 9.0 printing wise is a superior copy or example of a batman 1 "top" cover wise..however I noticed it was on the right corner of the 9.0 it was showing inside contents so, I would rather have the cover completely cover the book's interior and I think the 9.4 overall is a superior copy even if pressed I doubt it would get higher than a 9.2 or double pressed due to that defect.
  11. agreed, but it assures that BOTH the exterior and interior at the time of grading was the best copy in existence graded at that time
  12. Lets not forget the last Action 1 was up over I think 1 million dollars from the last 9.0 because of the WHITE pages which were shown on the video...I do not think you can underestimate the value of white pages that elevates the Bat #1 over #27
  13. I would have to second that...for one reason only WHITE PAGES and highest grade...it is a GA comic book in a class by itself...now the 8.0 #27 tough call...but this 9.4 looks very very sharp
  14. It looks like my estimate of 2 million might be a bit low...could be 2,160,000
  15. First appearance Mystery in Space #21-1954...classic DC 50's SF
  16. I think any stimulus will have a positive effect on the GA/SA comic book market, especially on the low end material and increase demand.
  17. The bid price has topped 1 million with BP at 1,020,000 early on WOW
  18. I think for high quality books HA is worth the difference,CC charging BP is just the begining but in terms of website and buyer reach Ha is the clear #1 by a mile
