  1. 67 years is a heck of a run...although the last few are but a pale comparison of what it used to be...They were light years ahead of the curve and Ganies was smart to dump the code....I wished HK would of stayed longer on the magazine but AF did a heck of job as well as Bill. The last original issue will be coming out in a direct market exclusive #10..might turnout to be a collectors item down the road, but it reprints after that..and very shortly it's calling it a day..... I salute Mad, it taught me a sense of humor....the paperbacks of the comic book reprints were equally as much as an influence as the Mag itself....we used to value those paperbacks Big time as kids...as well as comic books, cards, and Mad Mag and Famous Monsters..... Time goes on...change occurs...goodby old friend..
  2. E-Bay gives them a volume discount, but I think E-bay is cheaper than his 30,40,50,60% codeword sales.....still the prices are Mile High....
  3. The last original issue #10 might be a collectors item way down the road since it will be limited distribution to comic shops only...and last original issue. Does anybody have with this #10 issue the final number of issues of Mad including specials every published?
  4. A major blow to me personally...of course its not what it used to be...but it had a great run and effect on my childhood, especially that issue with painting the road....however it appears that paper or physical with your hands types of magazines are fading away..slowly. I have the seen the new issues, not bought them..just did not seem to have the great writing or style of the 50'-70's issues, Ganies was great but also his supporting cast of Al Feld, WW, Mingo, etc...real talent. This could be a major blow to future collectors of Mad in that no NEW persons will be wanting to get back issues. Might be a good time to sell your duplicates asap.
  5. This website has comic book reproductions in HD...amazing stuff great site, click on videos...enjoy
  6. Movie was great too...hope to let us see it restored...
  7. recently they have improved in terms of material, always worth a look
  8. Hail to the King....outstanding reports and great photos...thank you very much.....FYI On August 27, 2019, MARVEL MASTERS OF SUSPENSE will be released in hardcover ..with EVERY Steve Ditko SA horror/SF story will be included included the rare stories such as Gunsmoke Western 66, etc...they just changed the date from July 9, 2019..a must have...that is the first volume, I would assume the second one would be Don Heck ?????
  9. Looking forward to New Force putting up the best of the of best in terms of GA avaiable at a fixed price and visitng you website weekly for additions. You might want to consider a price with a best offer option as well as a want list listing trade credit avaiable for those books, you would be suprised how many people just fall a little bit short and a partical trade will put the deal over the top. I hope Rick you can raise the bar on GA/SA direct purchase with great scans etc. A little bit of investment can pay off big time down the road.
  10. I agree as its release date, the WF 39 has always been a favorite of mine, with the "blond " superman and in my opinion its the first appearance of Sandman in a comic book which appeared on the stands.
  11. thanks, I like that 50's bat cover of "doctor dorn".....looks like a great show
  12. Wishing you the best and hope you can start you own auction site...good luck
  13. Great pulp covers...I agree someday..they will arise...
  14. A true on of a kind genius....I have one criswell book of predictions some are spot on.......I wished I could of meet him, my dad was a big fan of his.....and he had bought one of his books...
  15. The first guide was sold out..as I recall two different colors or editions....there was no guarantee if another one would be made, or when, back then no internet and you just had to wing it by going to the bookstore and discover its out....so we were in the dark, me and larger number of Sacramento serious collectors which for the time was significant, possibly because we were in the state capital city and had a number of great book stores which sold back issue...BEER's was one that was incredible. The improvement from 1 to 2..with color cover etc..generated the most buzz I have ever witnessed among collectors..I believe everybody got the same idea as me....comics are gonna be worth MORE in the future...no question. Everybody kinda kept to themselves and went looking for EVERYTHING they could find. I went on a buying spree after getting that book KNOWING there was a gold mine out there....I think the other major revelation was the fact that I started buying underpriced duplicates with the hope of selling those at guide and making more money for my collection...that was the second major effect on the market at that time. #2 just felt bigger and the fact that the first edition was accepted and is no longer price wise ...current......made the second edition more credible. you had be there and live it to understand it.......
