  1. I told him once that he should read audiobooks.
  2. There have been a few examples of similar things in the past but nothing exactally on point that I can find. Publishes (edit - retailers) have added covers and flair after printing like the Miracleman books (blue label) and Retailers have added covers like the J company covers (green label). But here we have a retailer adding a cover purported to have been created by the original cover artist to a store exclusive that has presumably not gone into circulation.
  3. Think how much more successful you would have been if you had stapled acetate covers to your unsold stock 40 years ago!

  10. If I had known the founder of Blackstone was named Peter Peterson I would have tried to get some mileage out of that too…
  11. I gave Larry Fink a call. He’s been following the thread in CG and said making this right is his #1 priority.
  12. Agreed, they do draw the youngsters. I think they may actually be preserving the hobby for the next generation and that is equally terrifying to me for some reason.
  13. Since 2018 I’ve submitted around 1700 modern books with a 9.6 prescreen … 0 9.9 and 0 10.0. No custom acetate covers though.
  14. Good point, but considering they are some of the largest sellers, I doubt that will be enforced.
  15. So… hear me out… does this open the door for grading anthropodermic bibliopegy…
  16. If CGC charged admission to this thread, they could probably net more then the grading fees on those 750 books…
  17. “Welcome to the CGC grading Academy. Lesson 1 - Printing Cash With Acetate Covers …”
  18. Order placed for 150,000 sheets of acetate…. When is the next Con with on-sight grading?
  19. It gives new life to all those unsold store variants…
