  1. You guys seem to know a little about all the books. Riddle me this. What is this book? I assure you it is not Animal Crackers #9. The guy I bought it from stated he worked for some different comic magazines back in the day and was a advisor to Overstreet i.e..Comic Buyers guide and things like that, and it was his personal quest to find the missing Gerber books, which apparently he did find many of them. His last name was Browning. He bought this book 20+ years ago and it was supposedly the missing and possibly the only #1 in existence. The cover is similar to AC #9 but you will notice there is no number on mine and the 10 cent is in a different location. Was going to send it into CGC to see what the make of it. I did see on Mycomicshop.com they had an Animal Crackers listed for sale, but had none in stock nor a picture of it. They have it listed as #nn (1946) assuming this is the same comic.
  2. Mxwll Smrt, sure we don't have the same comic, here is my 210 as well.
  3. Love those Ghost Comics myself. I have two of the #1's in this condition. Took me 20 years to find Nm copies.
  4. Uhh anyone seen this one shot before? (1952). I just bought it. I collect obscure #1's as you know. I had never seen this actual comic until I just bought it. Looks to be in great shape.
  5. Caspari I sent you a private message. Not sure if you know where to look. Once you log in to your account you will see a tab at top that says My Stuff. Should be a little flag blinking next to it to show you have unread mail.
  6. Hey I got one of those as well. Believe it or not it's actually pretty high grade. Looks like it was copied with and old school Ditto machine due to all the black ink that lays in place on the cover or maybe that's what they were going for.
  7. This is a the only Our Gang that I own. #1. I don't really buy comics in the 6.5 range, but I feel this book was and has been seriously undervalued. When I bought this years ago I paid next to nothing for it. It was right when the housing market crashed and prices were drastically lower on all collectibles. Just couldn't pass it up and the fact it's Tom and Jerry's 1st appearance. Sorry for the pic. Never took time to scan this one. It should have graded at least a 7.0. Likely to crack and resend one day.
  8. Hey Can anyone give me some insight as to the value and rarity, if any of these pics. I got these from an Estate sale and they appear to be uncut fold outs of Dell western stars. As you can see they are in great shape and have their original mailers from the 40's. I have never see the smaller ones before and they have future famous cowboys like John Wayne etc.... Also is one of the Dell membership order cards unused. I paid 125.00 for all of them and I have seven different long sheets of 5 picture foldouts and then the 7 little cards with 6 stars each. Any idea of value or has anyone seen these. Are they rare or hard to come by. For the price I couldn't pass them up. Thanks.
  9. My oldest comic book, I think. 1924 and only one graded as of now. Not bad for 90 years old. 10 more and she's 100. I didn't think paper was supposed to last that long.
  10. Here are some others that I got from the Southern States collection. I think I posted a couple awhile back. Can't recall. All highest graded.
  11. Here is another highest graded I have had for a long time. I swear this is the same chick in that Rangers cover. Man she sure gets into a lot of distress.
  12. I heard on the Jamboree #1's there was a large lot found years ago, and that is why there are many high grade ones out there. Anyone else heard this as well?
  13. Finally another who enjoys the Jamboree line. Here are a three of mine. I have a couple more just don't have pictures.
  14. Here is another highest graded. and then my other copy pretty nice as well..
  15. Yes I ended up getting a total of 12 Southern States esoteric # 1's in a trade for basically a Peanuts #1 CGC 6.5 and a Strange Tales #110 CGC 6.0. They gave me 4800.00 in trade for those two books so it all worked out in a great deal for both of us. Here is another from that collection. Highest graded.
  16. Thanks TB. Some people don't appreciate these high grade oddball comics like I do. I think they have there place in comic history, as well as the superheros. Here is another recent pick up. Highest graded as well.
