  1. Again, thanks for doing this. When I go through my old comics I do get a new appreciation/rediscovery feel too. (And I won't mind the occasional comic posted, just so you know)
  2. Thank you for posting all this stuff Robot Man. I occasionally hop over here to the Gold forum to peruse around, and reading through this thread is incredibly interesting. I'm excited to revisit it in days to come.
  3. Got a PS4 recently. Could use some friends to play games with. My ID is ForlornOutcast I have Advanced Warfare, Minecraft, Destiny along with a few other single player games. Feel free to add me, preferable with a message that you're a boardie so I can sort that out.
  4. They do seem somewhat brittle though. I'm afraid to try and bend them. edit: Ok all is well that ends well, not as brittle as I thought: I'll leave that in the scanner overnight. Baby-steps pressing.
  5. Picked up this for $9.83 at a local auction today. Two cheap wood burning kit things, a Thunderbirds puzzle which I've counted 103 pieces for (?) and a Marry Poppins Rub On thing which apparently has all the rub ons, but not cardboard people cut-outs. (I don't see the cut-outs advertised on the front and have not googled this.) The various golden age are pretty beat, and the ST is not too far behind, but, behold: The one thing that really killed me was all these bent pages. Dang. Not sure what to do as I've heard NOT to try and fix them, but being fairly new to junky valuables, and with so many pages to fix...... ..Anybody care to chime in on what to do with this? (sorry for the newbie question if it is such.)
  6. saw this today, humorous. sorry if its been posted elsewhere. Comic Book Panels Taken out of context first one:
  7. I always am on the lookout for this thread. I like coming back and seeing there's 10 new posts and it excites me to see what people find out there.
  8. Saw this on the Xbox 360 store last night. edit: for those who don't know, this is originally a Sega Genesis game where you fight from comic panel to comic panel.
  9. Bought some ASM from my local LCS. I'm kinda stoked because it just changed ownership. For at least 20 years it was ran by one guy, and he finally threw in the towel and sold it to his only employee. I always secretly wished this would happen, as the guy really loves comics. He would tell me to come in on Saturday evenings if I really wanted to "deal." The original owner wouldn't entertain offers, even charged $2.00 to use a card, since that is what he had to pay... I mean I get it, $ is $... but still... Anyhow he was doing 25% off, as he is moving to a new location. This book was marked $20, but when I took it out of the bag, we both realized the cover was detached, along with a few small tears. He gave it to me for $5. Even though it may not be worth much, I'm totally fine with it as a placeholder for that price So glad he decided to buy the shop, I may actually go there more than once a year!
  10. Haha that envelope has the same amount of information in it, that the CIA would like you to know! Cool little piece.
  11. went on a 12 hour Black ops 2 binge.... im not proud but i only play it every month or so. Had fun with Tactical inserts/Bouncing Betty's and trying only Ballistic Knives/Tomahawks abd concussion grenades... and talking mess to little kids.
  12. When I started collecting in the mid 90's, my buddy and I were both into Spidey. He told me that the Amazing Spider-Man is the original and the "true" spidey book, so that was what we both collected, and I still pick them up when I see them and need to fill a hole. This was the first comic I remember buying with my own money, walking down to the Little Professor bookstore on a Saturday off from school. Had to get the latest issue. Brought home, read, bagged and boarded and marveled that someday it would be worth hundreds of dollars ...(dear comic gods, I'm still waiting, pretty please with sugar on top) Anyhow I do love ASM and hopefully will someday have a full run up to 441 at least. I really don't care if I get them all.. its just my favorite book because of memories. (ps: My second favourite book is just because of mammary.) haha sorry couldn't resist the pun, it came up in the internal dialogue, but I do love Spidey and he's way better than boobies
  13. Chew #1, First DeadMan, and an awesome pin! Keep up the good work fellas! I pretty much just pick up any Silver Ages I find if I can get them for a decent price. I scored this one at a local auction last week for $4.64 after fees/tax:
  14. Seeing as how my original post got poofed for some reason, here is a repost. Got this a little over a month ago from a local auction for $10.44 It has a couple small tears and a stain on the BC, but I love it nonetheless.
  15. got these two books a few years ago at a thrift sale. found out a retired spanish teacher was going to the old folks home. long story short, met a dude on comicspriceguide.com forums that had just started a new job as a language teacher at a private university. i sent him these for free as readers for the classroom. I'd like to consider that a solid for the retired teacher who just lost her freedom, even though she never knew.
  16. Thrift sale today $5 These people for some reason get all the stuff (cd's, games, dvd's) that are donated and simultaneously rejected by a local Christian "Thrift store/restart your life for volunteer work and get free room and board as long as you go to our church" Hope Gospel Mission. I know these people get some nice games, and sell the crud. Cool people anyhow. Now I know never to bother looking at that store again. unless I want to buy a two dollar spoon or a mossy couch.
  17. Tell me about it... althought I did find the Wolverine mini series for a buck each once, right among the Image drek. dude thought he had pulled them. I went to my local Books a Million today, and they had 5 long boxes of dollar comics. All 90's stuff, only think I saw that I thought about getting was 1-8 of Irredeemable, but I passed.
  18. Flea Market, payed $21 for these two: This knife I found brand new for $5 at a thrift sale:
  19. awesome work the last few pages guys, thanks for sharing. I'm not gonna quote it all, but you know who you are. edit: my meager morning offering.. came to me whilst sitting upon the john, after putting up a new hand-towel holder in said bathroom.
  20. Have any room for Kid Colt #112? Here's my good deed for the day.
  21. I'm realizing more and more, that doing art on the computer takes alot less effort , but it also yields extremely different results. Havent done it a whole lot. I'm liking it. (that being said, I guess this image is technically *mixed* media. The figure on fire is actually a scan of a cassette tape, with a sketch on the insert.)
