  1. Believe it or not, there is a copy on eBay right now. Not mine, but I wish it were mine.
  2. I only have the Doc Savage pin compliments of Robot Man. I have met Robot Man in person, and found him to be even cooler in the flesh than his forum persona, if that is possible.
  3. I will post the Weird Tales that I was happy to buy from mistermystery. One of you guys must have the Breckinridge Elkins stories from Action Stories pulps?
  4. My only Shadow pulp. Painting reused on the Shadow Annual. After 15 years, I have all of the Shadow pulp reprints from Anthony Tollin.
  5. Posted before. Purchased from James Payette, thanks to the recommendation of my fellow boardies.
  6. Darren Ford, who owns ditkoclub, is very honest. He usually has a booth at NYCC on the far right in the front. I have talked with him and his wife many times. I know another big time boardie who has purchased from Darren.
  7. Barks did not write the FC 9 Pirate Gold story, whereas Barks wrote FC 29. If you don't have them already, have you considered chasing after the March of Comics Barks books? I posted these before.
  8. The name, Johann Schmidt, was not used during the Golden and Silver Age. You can google it.
  9. I always remember my late father on Father’s Day.... and Nathan Grantham from Creepshow.
  10. The Doc Savage bronze is small, probably less than ten inches tall. I called Bob Chapman when the bronze busts were available. Unfortunately, the bust were expensive and honestly there are not too many Doc Savage fans who were willing to buy an expensive bust. Bob only produced a handful of busts as a labor of love. Bob Chapman runs the SDCC T-shirt business. The majority of the bronze statues will not appreciate in value. I bought my statues, because I enjoy them when I bought them and still enjoy them today.
  11. 100 Scrooge “Sport of Tycoons” and 200 Donald “Sheriff of Bullet Valley”. There were also several Artist’s Proofs. The bronze statues are very big and heavy. I bought mine way before I joined the forums. Genuine bronze statues are very expensive and time consuming to produce, unlike the resin statues commonly seen. I believe original retail at the Disneyana convention was $1800. I also have a bronze bust of Doc Savage produced by Bob Chapman of Graphitti Designs. Always wanted the Man of Bronze in Bronze.
  12. Current bid price on the "Sheriff of Bullet Valley" bronze is low right now. There were several nice bronze statues offered at the nineties Disneyana conventions. I grabbed this picture off the web, but own one still in the box. This bronze is entitled "Sport of Tycoons."
  13. The late Gary Arlington’s San Francisco Comic Book Company was located on 23rd Street between Mission St and Valencia. Gary collected multiple copies of ECs off the newsstand and decided to open a comic book store in 1968. I was a customer from January 1971 until the shop closed. At one time, Gary had a box of IH181 that nobody wanted. Truly, the ageless hippie, I miss him and his entertaining comic book stories.
  14. Weren't the sixties Aurora models cellophane wrapped instead of shrinkwrapped? Weren't some of the old boxes held with just scotch tape on the box ends, so you could peek inside?
  15. Discolandia was located in the Mission District in San Francisco. Here is a old Comics & Comix flyer. Siding was a dark brown. Store was located on Telegraph by Dwight in Berkeley. I was a customer during my college days.
  16. Thanks to my fellow boardies for pointing me to James Payette. James responded quickly to my question on paper quality and also send scans of the front and back. This copy was less expensive and in better grade than the ones on eBay.
  17. I agree that Marvel will be leaving the Diamond distribution network soon. I would carefully view the monthly Diamond Previews catalog and preorder comics and other comic book related material from my LCS. For a fairly long time, both Marvel and DC produced their own monthly catalogs outside of Previews, just waiting for the opportunity to cut ties.
  18. I ordered some items from the UK on 5/28 and the package was quickly delivered by DHL on 6/4. I paid about $40 for shipping. However, I am having problems with USPS on overseas mail. I ordered some items from the Netherlands on 5/1 and item was finally delivered to Chicago ISC (International Shipping Center) on 5/19. No movement since then and I am located in San Francisco.
  19. Since eBay listings are not available after a time, I took some snapshots for posterity. eBay item number 202778335966 Ended May 06, 2020 , 3:52AM Price $3,649.50 plus $29.95 shipping
  20. I received an empty envelope from FedEx. At least I got my money back. I have noticed International Mail is really slow. Seller in the Netherlands sent a package on May 1st. Package was finally released in Chicago May 19th. I still have not received the package yet. I think all international mail goes in quarantine for at least fourteen days. I ordered some non-comic book related books from the UK yesterday. DHL app says that package will be delivered on June 2th, but I will not be holding my breath. Have to be patient during these difficult times.
  21. Fold lower right X-Men versus Magneto red box flaws match up exactly. Evidence points to exact copy.
  22. Seller is big time OA dealer Mike Burkey. GCD says Baker pencils and Kamen inks, so Mike did not make it up.
  23. I have my late older brother’s copy that he bought for a nickel at Ben’s Bargains on Grant Ave. Could use another copy. Still love the Doc Savage badge that I bought from you.
