  1. I still have my Tudor football and Coleco Hockey. On the Tudor football, you had to have great field vision and use your curly guys in a running sweep pattern or hook receiving pattern. I could make field goals with the felt football from 99 yards. On the newer sets, you can adjust the direction of your men.
  2. My Girl Pearl, Sherry the Showgirl, and Showgirls by Dan DeCarlo
  3. Dan DeCarlo Millie the Model set. Millie 93 has a Stan Goldberg cover and only one page of DeCarlo art. Millie 94 once again has a Stan Goldberg cover and one DeCarlo story.
  4. While reading a book on Dan DeCarlo art, I decided to collect his non-Archie comics. In doing so, I discovered the cgc boards and met many collectors and made many new friends. Here is my completed My Friend Irma set. Not too difficult to find, but a devoted collector must be persistent and come up with a nasty snipe bid or two. Be certain to check the page count. Some copies are missing the paper dolls or are otherwise incomplete.
  5. The PF Flyer Jonny Quest ring provided free with a purchase of their sneakers and the fairly common 1947 Lone Ranger six shooter Kix ring.
  6. Poonton is correct. You have VCDs. You can see Video CD on the back. These may or may not play in standard DVD players. I have played VCDs in a multi-region DVD players.
  7. Tec 180 I told Primetime that my favorite Batman story of all time is Joker's Millions drawn by the great Spoon Sprang. The story was first reprinted in the Signet paperback Batman vs The Joker 1966 to profit off the Batman craze. My father used to take me to his workplace on Saturday. I did not help much, but to pay me, he would purchase a book. I met the great Spoon Sprang and his agent, Ike Wilson, at one of the Wondercons and had Sprang sign my Signet paperback for me.
  8. My mother tossed my toys when I left the house. My King Zor was still in the original box.
  9. GI Joe GI Joe Fighting Man from head to toe, on the land, on the sea, in the air! Repo box.
  10. Going show off my Phantom Lady set. Took a long time to complete. Not all Baker. Not really romance, unless one considers Sandra Knight’s dim witted boy friend, Don Borden.
  11. After decades of collecting, I am still enjoying comics as a hobby. Finally found Phantom Lady 19 at the Berkeley Con. I would like to thank HouseofComics, Primetime, and Alan Bahr of Heroes Comics in Campbell. These comics only conventions are great fun.
  12. The great Peter Cushing in Doctor Who and the Daleks reading Eagle and Boys’ World.
  13. Love this fantastic cover with "Fantastic" mentioned eight times without the FF. Of UK original comics, I love the awesome "Fantastic" Dan Dare.
  14. wormboy, Great picture of the back of my head on the lower left. Spent all my money on comics, so no money left for a toupee.
  15. House of Comics ran another great show! Fabulous selection of books were available. Completed my Phantom Lady run. Thanks to Primetime for his sharp eyes and Alan Bahr of Heroes.
  16. Already made a connection for a tough book on my want list. I thought boardies who ride BART would like to know that due to maintenance, BART will be running a bus bridge between Oakland 19th Street and West Oakland stations. No direct service between San Francisco and Berkeley this coming weekend. Buses replace trains in Oakland this weekend
  17. From gcd "The Donald Duck issues of Four Color (Dell, 1942 series), #147, 159, 178, 189, 199, 203, 223, 238, 256, 263, 275, 282, 291, 300, 308, 318, 328, 339, 348, 356, 367, 379, 394, 408 & 422, are considered by Dell as the first 25 issues of this series." FC 4 (first series), FC9, FC29, FC 62, FC 108 don't count in the run.
  18. Norman Saunders painted many of the Topps nonsports sets including: my favorite set of all time, Mars Attacks Civil War News Battle When these cards came out, I was attending grammar school. Luckily, there was no comics code equivalent for nonsports cards. I was happy that Fredric Wertham did not get his hands on these. The 1962 Mars Attacks cards had limited distribution due to parental concerns.
  19. Krenkel was an excellent artist, but no Frazetta. Very few artists who drew comics are comparable to Frazetta. Top tier are Wally Wood and Hal Foster. I have to concur on Burroughs not as collectible a writer, compared to Robert E.Howard, except for the very early pulps. My all time favorite writer is P. G. (Pelham Grenville) Wodehouse. My taste was been labeled as suspect, since I have read every Lester Dent Doc Savage pulp. Frazetta Krenkel
  20. I already know, so I am not saying. It's not Frazetta, nor Al Williamson, then it must be.....
  21. I was going guess Tec 70, but what about Human Torch 5 with Subby driving the weird tank?
  22. In California, residents are supposed to pay use tax on out of state purchases. I pay use tax every year on my state income tax return. My old Fortune 500 company was audited by the IRS and California Franchise Tax Board every year. The California Franchise Tax Board specifically looks for use tax. I worked with the State of California auditor on the method used to estimate California use tax. From the California tax code "You may owe use tax on purchases you made from out-of-state or Internet sellers. Use tax is similar to the sales tax paid on purchases you make in California. You may report use tax on your income tax return instead of filing a use tax return with the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration"
  23. Try American Comic Book Chronicles, which is a multi volume comics history, from TwoMorrows Press as well as Steranko's two volume History of Comics.
  24. Very generous of you. In my last SDCC 2014, many exclusives were not available to folks with dealer badges. I was trying to get a LEGO Superman exclusive for a friend’s kid. I had both dealer and regular badges, but they were gone in ten minutes to flippers.
