  1. For some strange reason, woke up in the middle of the night, and decided to scan my emails. Found a page from my favorite EC story drawn by the great Wally Wood. Instant buy for me from big time dealer Mike Burkey. Saw the page from a disreputable eBay dealer for a quarter of the price years ago.
  2. Meet Spoon Sprang in the late eighties at WonderCon in Oakland. Booth was empty with few fans. Did not own a Tec 180 back then, but now own a measly thirteen copies. My late father bought me this much read and cherished copy of the Signet Joker book from the long gone Emporium.
  3. First book that I ever sent to CGC. Was hoping for a higher grade, but book had multiple stains. Tough to find in higher grade. Always got outbid on the Gaines copies.
  4. Looks like Phil Schlaefer of Champion Comics. He usually shares a booth with Heroes Comics from Campbell. Phil used to bring a fossball table to SDCC. If you could beat him, you got a discount. Nobody has ever beaten him.
  5. When they first came out, I bought mine at my LCS, Comics & Comix in Berkeley.
  6. As I reviewed the many Feldstein covers that I have in my collection, I picked this oddball. I have several copies. I also added this Gahan Wilson cartoon from Playboy that my long time comic book dealer and true EC fanatic, the late Gary Arlington, put in his store.
  7. Heroes in Campbell, CA. Dealer sold me the last Phantom Lady that I needed several years ago.
  8. First show that I attended since the start of the pandemic. Marc (House of Comics) gave his space to another vendor, which was extremely gracious of him. Fairly well attended by kids of all ages. Next show will be in late September at the Berkeley Adult School, if the city allows larger gatherings. My haul. The Sup 11 and war books were purchased from the always jovial Terry O’Neill.
  9. You snooze, you lose! Going beat Woowoo to the good stuff!
