  1. Hello all! I just announced an opp with Matt at NYCC. Matt would love to raise money for his children's charity and I am happy to help him do so. Check it out, please :-) http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=6941299#Post6941299
  2. Frank, How have digital sales been doing? Ryan
  3. Some of the increase was likely due to the sketch cover. That being said, this is great news. If the book continues to be awesome and people give the trade a try, this book looks to sell well for the run :-)
  4. At least the art is consistent. I remember during the runup to Walking Dead 100 when Charlie was cranking out work so fast that people had trouble distinguishing the characters.
  5. The Nowhere Men thread has officially ventured into the 06010 Put it on the board I would have appreciated a Jimmy Rollins rule before these delays started The best that Nowhere Men can hope for now is a Dirty Fuentes Ah, that's where I was going to go next. Thought about using it instead of the Jimmy Rollins Rule. With that said, I did always question whether this book was Bona Fide or Bonifacio... I thought that the book was safe. Stephania Bell hadn't talked it up.

  8. I've been doing me research... and I need to mail you a slab.
  9. I already said that people don't have a problem waiting....people have had a problem with ES and Nate from day 1 , art was paid for and never delivered for months, and every excuse was given.......it just snowballed from there. ES was on here and I talked to him many times by PM, He even sent me a nice freebie......he then got mad becasue a boardie was pre-selling the CBLDF books, and he dissapeared...........Like I said, ES was always a nice guy to me anyway, I personally think its all Nates fault, not getting the art on time and ES is trying not to throw him under the bus. Too bad the book has to suffer becasue of it. I hope they get it back on track, i would pick up the trades to read. 1) I like Nowhere Men, I own no physical copies of the book (besides my purple variant, which is personalized and I would never sell anyway because it was a gift) and I'm still not happy that it's not on time. You don't need to be invested in the book to be unhappy about it. I think it's a bit extreme to claim that Eric and Nate aren't invested in the book or don't care about the fans/speculators because the book is behind. As a fan of Planetary, I guess I can live with 2-3 issues per year and I can wait for the book to get on schedule. 2) Eric was on the boards after the CBLDF presale debacle (and it was a debacle) and posted for fans. If I were Eric, I'd be upset about the CBLDF presale as well. Part of the reason why you do a con variant isn't just to make money on the variant sales, but also to bring people to your booth and get them to buy other stuff as well (and CBLDF ALWAYS has cool stuff at their table, like Alan Moore signed trades). 3) Who knows why Eric finally left the boards? Again, he posted after the CBLDF stuff. My guess? He's a busy dude and the boards can be an absolute time suck (I can't tell you how many times I've had to stay late because something awesome/funny/trainwrecky was happening on the boards). During the whole Sadfan memeapalooza, I got ZERO done at work. If I had to guess, Eric is focused on the day job, which has been insane right now (Image is releasing a ton of new books in the next year and I'm sure that E.S. has been heavily involved in the new projects from Fraction, Brubaker, Remender, McCormick, etc. I'd imagine that Image is also working on bringing more big names into the fold to keep the momentum going). There's reason to be annoyed with the constant delays, but, in the famous words of the beloved Matthew Berry "The hate has gone too far." At worst, there will never be another issue of Nowhere Men, which would make it similar to a LOT of other independent comic projects. At best, the book gets back on time. There is nothing happening here that hasn't happened before (even if it sucks) many a time.
  10. JJ- I am still trying to get you a purple variant for your set. It may take me a while, but I'm still trying :-)
  11. Also, in the total bragging department, landed this sweet NWM variant. No clue how many were printed. To get one requires great efforts which I am not allowed to discuss :-) For those total fanboys out there, this is the NWM variant to get, although the only way you can get one is if it's personalized. Will post picks when it returns from CGC.
  12. I'm glad that someone else buys my conspiracy theory. One thing that I'll say is this: if there's no such thing as bad publicity, Nowhere Men sure seems to be generating a lot of posts these days even though no one tied to the project is saying anything. I don't know what that means, but I do find it interesting.
  13. Honestly, I hope that this series gets a new artist with experience meeting a deadline. I think that East of West is in great hands because both Hickman and Dragotta are used to Marvel deadlines and will be pushing to keep up with a 10 issues per year schedule. For all of the criticism, E.S. doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who doesn't keep up with his commitments. Hopefully, plugging in a new artist who will do what it takes to meet deadlines will help. A great example of switching artists, then having a book really take off is The Walking Dead. Tony Moore did some amazing stuff for that series and, IMO, his art is better than Adlard's. That being said, Adlard is a machine and keeps the book coming out every month, no matter what. I think E.S. would be wise to get a workhorse on the book.
  14. I think the issue is that you don't really work for Image. In many ways, Image works for you if you publish a comic under their banner. The creators own all of the rights and make all of the decisions (print run, variants, etc.). Image helps with advertising and the production, but they are ultimately a company dedicated to helping creators publish work. It's hard to crack the whip on someone that you work for.
  15. Here's my conspiracy theory: If this is like many other books, Nate is probably late. We've seen Eric go to bat for his co-creator and I sincerely doubt that he's going to throw Nate under the bus. If I'm Eric, I'm probably pissed that a project that I've worked on for years is not being published because the art isn't getting done. Some fan asks about it? I'm probably mad, but I can't throw the guy who probably co-owns the project to the wolves. I need him. Rather than make excuses, which even I don't buy, or say something I'll regret, I'm just going to pass on the question. It'll make fans mad, but it's better than lying or crushing my collaborator in public (you know that this thread would have blown up if Eric called out Nate. It would have been epic). If anything, this should put the work of capullo, adlard, Dragotta, mahnke, guillory, etc in perspective. Deadlines are tough and you have to have discipline and a great work ethic to put out 9-12 issues per year. I don't know him, but Eric Stephenson strikes me as having a great work ethic. If I had to bet, I'd guess that Eric has 3-5 issues scripted and ready to go. I've seen the guy speak. He's nothing if not prepared. This is total speculation on my part. As someone who's sold all of my nowhere men floppies, I have no horse in the race. I just hope that the book gets back on track. If that requires getting a more consistent artist on the title, so be it. Just my 2 cents.
  16. Prediction: (I made this a while back) Issue 5: This will be a background issue. I'm not sure how exciting it will be, but it'll attempt to tell us how we got to where we are (i.e. how did Xio win death's heart) Issue 6: back to present time. The other 3 horsemen are pissed. This is a buildup issue where they set in motion a plot to kill death and Xio Next crazy action? Issue 8
  17. Well, why don't you start reading Revival and head over to THAT thread! I only have time for one Norton book and that's.... BATTLE PUG!!!
  18. I am enjoying talking about the book plot :-)
  19. Ok, so the kids are the ones that want to fulfill "the prophecy" right? But they keep saying that Death has his own agenda right? I get that he loves Xio, but she seems pretty evil. What is THEIR agenda??? The kids want to fulfill the prophecy According to the dialogue between Chamberlain and Death, it seems like Death wants to see the world continue. That was just my take though.
  20. That's kind of the impression that I got. Xio seems pretty evil to me? I just felt like EVERYONE was the bad guy! And who is the guy on the RRP on the "motorcycle"? I thought THAT guy would show up and he would be the protagonist of the story. I thought the three kids and Death, the crow, the wolf were different evils... I think that's the ranger. He should be making an appearance soon :-)
  21. You mean I'm not the only one!!! I love the art and I'm intrigued by the story. But I mean... who are the bad guys? who are the good guys? Why are three of the horsemen of the apocalypse kids and one is an adult? Is this all supposed to be part of the mystery that we will see unfold. Bad guys - 3 horsemen of the apocalypse and the true believers Good Guys - the crow, the wolf, death, and Xio Why are 3 kids and 1 an adult: Guess: the three others died and were reborn. Death survived I imagine that the next issue will explain a lot of what happened to get us to this point. I don't necessarily think Death, the crow and the wolf are good guys. Perhaps just the main characters? I may be being a bit simplistic, but, IMO: Guys who are bringing on apocalypse = bad Guys who aren't bringing on apocalypse = good
