  1. I agree with you that issue 2 was a better read, but I still enjoyed issue 3 quite a bit (I can't think of a single series where every single issue gets progressively better). Did you not enjoy issue 3? Just curious. It wasnt bad just not as good as 2 I think. It wasn't I quit bad, just a let down after issue 2 I think. In a few months I may look back on this issue and go "Wow I missed all that in that issue?". I give any book around 5 issues to hook me. Some do some dont. I think its easier to read then MP and MG were. Thank you for explaining :-) I agree with the let down after 2, but still thought it read better than most issues on the market. Not everything can be 5-star, but I thought that the issue was, at worse, a 3.5 star issue (on a scale of 5).

  3. I'm thinking about not picking up future issues based on this issue. So yes. AH- I thought you were my boy!!! (you are... like what you like... don't like what you don't like)
  4. Well, we are only three issues in. So I'm basing an ENTIRE third of a series on one third of this series. It wasn't good and reminded me why I dislike Hickman's stories. That is what has me worried. Interestingly, I thought that this issue was the easiest to read of the first three issues so far. Issue 1 seemed like it came out of the blue. Just a whole bunch of people dying and what not. Issue 2 seemed to start piecing together what's going on (the bringers of the apocalypse are working with the citizens to bring about the end, but death decided that he liked the world). Issue 3: Easily, the most contained story points so far. Issue 4? All I know is that it's set up for a whole bunch of people to die. I'm looking forward to that.
  5. Just read issue 3- more awesomeness!!!
  6. Bought my book, paid, etc. Works for me :-)

  9. I'm jealous of your wit. It tastes salty BTW, I'm sure you've been wondering. http://www.ebay.ca/sch/sellinghopf/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686 http://www.ebay.ca/sch/thepastapimp/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686 does ebay let people have alternate accounts? ...and Pastapimp...really??? As if Jimmy Linguiniii wasn't bad enough. I love the pastapimp. Just saying
  10. Uh, I'm pretty sure my $650.00 hope is going to be way under the final price. Insane. Currently at $630.00 with over 3 hours to go.
  11. It was subbed at C2E2. Under very suspect circumstances, I hear. Hey, how did you know about it? Are you using your CGC elite status to find out info you shouldn't know or was the guy who subbed it a total loudmouth who showed it to everyone? So suspect.
  12. Has a Saga RRP 9.8 slab ever sold on eBay for less than $300? I respect your opinion, but I think that your data points are accurate for NM raw copies and not graded copies. Also, I doubt the first sale will have much of an impact on the long term price of this book. With the saga RRP, the first 9.8 slabs sold for $300 in Dre's sales thread during C2E2 in 2012. Some PP raws went for over $200 during C2E2 this year. I don't think that the price point is so out of line with the comps. If you have more applicable comps, that would be interesting.
  13. ? Third print? It's the RRP. Back to your coffee and donuts... Adonis are real smart. This is my auction. I listed the RRP with a starting bid of $300 because that would have been my reserve. If the book sells, that's great. If not, that's great too. I really like East of West. It's a cool series, Jonathan's a fun writer, and Nick's giving the book a great feel. If I don't sell the book, that's fine. EoW is certainly a book where I'll be keeping a couple of copies with little/no intention of selling ever. For those saying that $300 is too high, that's fine. Personally, I think it's going to be hard for anyone to get this book for under $100 raw after the public sales prices of the Saga RFP and the Panzerfaust RRP. That's just my opinion. I would not be surprised if this book starts at 150-200 raw (prices that have been seen on the panzerfaust RRP). If you want to bid, that's cool and thank you. If it's too rich for your blood, that's cool too and it shouldn't stop you from reading and enjoying a series that I thought really showed some promise in issue 2 (like Saga, I also thought that issue 1 of EoW has some weird pacing). It's my understanding that Jonathan isn't a huge variant guy, so hopefully, like Saga, people don't have to worry about variant madness. Again, just my opinion.
  14. Just checked the registry and saw 35 populated sets.... AWESOME for a book this new. Happy to see so many Saga freaks out there!
  15. Nick Pitarra is one bad mother shut your mouth.
  16. Met frank and Chris at c2e2. Super cool dudes!!! Frank- I hope that you had a good time and that your books come back 9.8s. If they don't, let me know.
  17. Nice. Keep us posted. So Heroes haven wants retailers to get all the way home and then ship them their RRP for $50? I wonder how many lazy retailers will jump on this instead of selling it to a loyal customer for $50? or eBay it for more. I think so. I can't speak for them. Diamond is pretty open about the fact that the giveaways are supposed to be used to offset the cost of attending the summit. Still, I guess I just consider the flier style offers to be in poor taste. Also, if I had an offer of $50 now, I'd probably consider that a floor and see what I could get back home.
  18. They're being mailed. Not given out here, as far as I can tell.
  19. Heroes' Haven is offering $50 to retailers for their EoW RRPs (in tacky fliers at tables at the diamond summit). There's your floor...
  20. What?? I had a 4/1 invoice and I got them today Was it signed or does SS matter? I got mine signed on March 29 Friday. Wow you only did FAST TRACK???? SS shouldn't matter. My books have been graded for a while. I guess they just got misplaced or something during slabbing or QC. I'm not happy about it, but it was only an 8 book invoice.
  21. Modern fast tracks: Invoice Date: 3/12/2013 Shipping Date: 4/24/2013 No bueno...
  22. Those should be in the mail tomorrow. Thank you for your business :-)
