  1. Even though Heritage sold that 9.4 within the last year, 9.2 or better copies rarely come up for sale. And if the people who have those books aren't looking to sell those books, it takes an eye-opening offer to even consider letting it go. Josh knows that and I'd guess the buyer knows that or eventually realized that too. So true as I believe Barton has said he will take his Spideys to his grave. Picture Frames.

  3. It's probably just the Picture Frames. I'd love to own a Bronze Age Gil Kane or Romita cover. But knowing my collecting habits, I'm afraid to go down that path. One cover will lead to two dozen, huh? Exactly. I'm a collecting junkie. Once I get a taste, I can't stop.

  5. You're probably right. Millie the Model will taunt me until I take my last breath.
  6. Thanks for the all congratulations and nice comments. Selling the book has been pretty weird for me and it's still sinking in. I don't know if I'd say I have any regrets, but I can say owning the book is a lot more fun than not owning it. The money is nice and useful. And I can think of some fun things to do with it. But hookers and blow - a lot of hookers and blow- still won't hold a candle to a really sweet copy of Amazing Fantasy #15.
  7. If by "thoroughly vetted" you mean that I looked at the book for upgrade potential while it was still sealed in the holder, then sure, ok. If by "thoroughly vetted" you mean it was sent to CGC, ComicLink, CCS, or any pressing service for review, then no, it wasn't thoroughly vetted. Didn't the sale happen through ComicLink? Yeah that's pretty clear so what are you asking? Did C-Link insist on having it pressed prior to it being sold??? Ghost Town stated that it wasn't sent to "CGC, ComicLink, CCS, or any pressing service for review", yet the book was sold through Comiclink - I simply find it hard to believe they wouldn't have vetted the book for upgrade potential if it came through their hands. You're still implying or stating something that's not true. ComicLink never had the book in their possession until after the offer was made and accepted. I sent the book directly to CGC for the re-holder. And CGC shipped it to ComicLink. Yes, ComicLink and the buyer saw large scans of the book before the offer was made and accepted. That's it. There was no "thorough vetting" other than what I did with my own two eyes. You can continue to find that hard to believe. But you'd still be incorrect and spreading misinformation.
  8. There's no chance this book hasn't been thoroughly worked on already. Um.... The book was in the holder below until very recently. Notice the cert number is the same. I have no idea why the grade date comes up as it does, but it's incorrect. I'm not the original owner of the book, but I can tell you that it was in the slab below since 2000 and was only re-holdered within the last month or so. If the book has been worked on, it was prior to 2000. And given that the book does have some minor things that could be flattened, I doubt it has ever been pressed. Let me rephrase, then - there's no chance this book hasn't been thoroughly vetted to see if it had upgrade potential before going up for sale  If by "thoroughly vetted" you mean that I looked at the book for upgrade potential while it was still sealed in the holder, then sure, ok. 9. The crazy thing is the amount of grammatical errors still present post edit. As mentioned previously I am French not English so I try my best but still make errors. As already suggested above, just click "Preview Post" then make your corrections before clicking "Submit". It won't take any more time and you'll avoid a custom title of "The Guy Who Edits Every Single Freaking Post He Posts".

  11. Congrats, Robert! That books presents really nicely.
  12. Thanks, Peter. I'll probably give them a closer look one of these years. Some earlier issues again. The #15 is one of the very few books I have in an old holder that suffers from newton rings.
  13. It's a different book and wasn't from Pedigree.
  14. Those are some really sweet FFs, Eric. You can never go wrong with a Curator copy like the #39.
  15. Post the scans, post the scans, post the scans. That's one of the sickest 1-100 runs out there (and since whoever it is is cashing out, my 1-100 is about to get a lot sicker ) Wow. Some very tough books in that run.
  16. Three great books, Mitch. The COTL is a real beauty. The thick slabs just don't cooperate for scanning sometimes. But that ASM #102 seems especially uncooperative.
  17. Nice website, Dale. Looks classy and it's easy to navigate. I've started entering my want list. Do we get emails when there's a match? And is there a way to sort our want lists alphabetically and numerically?
  18. Nice, Joe. That's a book you don't see everyday.
  19. If so, I would guess we will have to wait awhile before we see them. I asked Josh that very same question. He said "yes". I didn't ask when we might see them. Based on how ComicLink rolled out the Rocky Mountain collection, I suspect it might take some time.
