  1. In that case, I have the perfect solution for you. Start chasing Li'l Kids, Millie the Model, Harvey, Chili, and the romance books. Your hunting may never end, as I can sadly attest.
  2. Those are some very sweet copies, Bob. The Kull #4 is especially tough to find in high grade and that's a very sharp copy. But I'm sure you knew that already.
  3. I know this is sacrilegious but I've always been underwhelmed by Ditko covers. They always lacked an 'oomph' of some sort. He was a great storyteller though. I used to feel this way as well. But I think Ditko is an acquired taste, much like the musical genius of Jimi Hendrix, it is hard to grasp on the the first go round. The covers of ASM #23 and #24 really sold me to his brilliance. I like those Spidey covers too. But for every solid Spidey cover that Ditko drew (like #3, #23, #24, #28, #29) there are plenty of clunkers like #8, #22, #30, and #31. I can't imagine how Marvel let the cover for ASM #30 ever go to the printers. What's amazing to me is that the stretch of Romita covers that followed Ditko's work was just incredible. For me, ASM #39 to #75 is one of the best sustained runs of covers I can think of. They're not all great, of course. But I think the number of classic covers in that run is far greater than the covers that are just ok.
  4. They're both sweet books, Peter. I don't think you'd go wrong either way.
  5. There probably are a number of those collections out there in the wild. Especially with mainstream superhero books like FF and ASM. But I'm much less confident that any of these collections have the Western, romance, or reprint titles. And if they have sharp copies of Millie the Model, Harvey, Li'l Kids or Li'l Pals, I'd be shocked. Thrilled, but shocked.
  6. Total agreement here about dragging out the number of episodes. Kilgrave was a good villain but not worthy of 13 episodes. Still enjoyed the series and hoping for a season 2.
  7. ASM #143 is another example. The difference is pretty dramatic.
  8. Modern Slow Track Pre-Screen, 56 books Received: 8/24/15 Verified: 11/6/15 Scheduled for Grading: 11/11/15 Graded: 12/2/15 Grading/Quality Control: ? Shipped/Safe: ?
  9. Forgive the encroachment of Bronze books in the Silver forum...
  10. Posthumously, and even then, I'm not so sure.
  11. Fantastic stuff, David. Great covers, one after another.
  12. I have one of the 5¢ cover price variants:
  13. I know the Oakland books were available for some time before Vincent took them on the convention circuit. So if there was a duplicate copy of this book, it's entirely possible somebody snagged it before San Diego. I think CGC calls dealers to verify the provenance of books when they have questions or need to confirm anything. They probably know which dealers moved the majority of the pedigrees out there.
  14. Looks very familiar. It was an eBay roll of the dice that could have been worse. And could have been better. But I'm glad it has a good home in any event.
  15. That's a great book, Peter. Amazingly, it somehow managed to avoid the Savannah Cream to Off-White Pages Curse!
