  1. My friend Joey travelled far and wide and risked life and limb to snag this beauty for me. (Ok, it was the Chicago show).
  2. I had an X-Men #52 from the same collection. And because it's a black cover and it was black marker swoosh, CGC dinged it with a PLOD for color touch. I guess I could have pleaded the case and showed CGC other examples from the collection. But it didn't seem worth the bother. And it's a weird thing to determine the intent in a situation like that.
  3. From the latest C-Link auction (and Greggy, I believe).
  4. To get a decent shot at Dave's books, you not only need to be there very early on set-up day, you need a flame thrower to chase the hyenas away from his boxes. It's amazing that the carcass wasn't entirely picked over and you were able to score that book. But you know that already.

The dealer explained that the books came from brothers who started out sharing a collection. But that plan didn't work out because one of them started marking the books like that to show that it was his book. I don't own this book anymore, but I still have the scan:
  6. Here's some more Kane Western covers. I don't own these, but I'd love to find sharp copies. I really like the cover with the wolves.
  7. A cool thing about about searching for Gil Kane covers is that I keep on coming across books I've never seen before. Like some of these, for example:
  8. FF #1, Amazing Fantasy #15, Journey #83? Feh. Big deal. I found a 9.4 Chili #20. (Not the strongest NM, but I'll take it.) Found this too:
  9. Great books, Mitch. The Suschas have been a big find for us Picture Frame fans. Especially for the non-hero titles like horror and Westerns.
  10. Welcome back, Jason! Avengers sales dropped dramatically while you were gone. It's nice to see the title (and you) reinvigorated. Okay, I'm joking about the sales. But it is great to see you back.
  11. More thanks to Dale's Recent and Uncanny Picture Frame Radar Sense:
  12. I think Kane did some great battle covers over the years. For example:
