  1. Sharp books, electricprune. Great centering on both of them.
  2. Nice haul there, Joey. Looking forward to seeing the scans. I think the Fear #7, Subby #48, and both WMDs are all the highest graded to date. And the WMD #18 is is the first and only 9.8.
  3. Ted Van Liew of Superworld. The guy who put it on eBay.
  4. Strange. What makes it even stranger is that I just picked it up on eBay for a whopping $45 plus shipping. I'd offer it to you, but I know you already have a 9.6 copy.
  5. It wasn't from Greggy. Picked it up (already slabbed) from a dealer. It doesn't look like Greg slabbed his copy. There's still only one in the census.
  6. That's a beautiful book, Bob. It has great colors too.
  7. From the department of useless and/or trivial facts: - By most counts, there are 388 Picture Frame Marvels. - There are 24 Picture Frame books that don’t have a single graded copy in 9.0 or better. - There are 34 Picture Frame books that only have 1 graded copy in 9.0 or better. - Books with no 9.0 or better copies: Chili 18, 19, 20 Kid Colt Outlaw 157 Li’l Kids 4, 5, 6 Mighty Marvel Western 21 Millie the Model 194, 195, 196, 197, 198 My Love 20 Our Love Story 20 Rawhide Kid 105 Ringo Kid 16, 17 Two-Gun Kid 102, 103, 105, 106 Western Kid 2, 3 - Books with one 9.0 or better copies: Harvey 3, 5, 6 Kid Colt Outlaw 164 Li’l Kids 9 Li’l Pals 1, 2 Marvel’s Greatest Comics 39 Marvel Super-Heroes 32 Marvel Tales 34, 40 Marvel Triple Action 6 Mighty Marvel Western 17, 20 Millie The Model 199 My Love 16, 18, 19 Our Love Story 14, 17, 19 Outlaw Kid 9 Rawhide Kid 94, 97, 102, 103 Ringo Kid 13, 14, 15 Special Marvel Edition 6 Two-Gun Kid 101, 107 Western Gunfighters 8, 10 I’ve been trying to find all the books in 9.0 or better for the last few years. It looks like I’ve got a long road ahead of me. (And I’m enjoying the journey.)
  8. For whatever reason, it looks like most of the PF Two-Gun Kids are hard to find. 102, 103, 105, 106 all don't have any 9.0+ copies listed in the census. For all 7 books combined, there's one 9.0, one 9.8, one 9.6, and one 9.0.
  9. Great books. I'm a big fan of that Kid Colt #162 cover. Kane usually did a great job with these PF covers. It looks like Kid Colt is coming right off the cover.
  10. That's a sharp looking book. It's always nice to see those re-imagined Spidey covers. Although I don't know if this Romita cover packs the same wallop as his original cover for Spidey #51.
  11. Here's an Excel spreadsheet of Ewert books: http://home.mchsi.com/~bpmdu/ewert.xls How long? Two thousand eight hundred and seventy entries. And here's a link to a thread with a list of books: Suspected Ewert Books
  12. And here I was wondering who had all the nice copies of Where Monsters Dwell. Killer stuff. You can't beat a comic with a caption like "I Am Googam -- And I Am Power!!"
  13. It's pedigree JIM #1s in stereo! They're both really sharp looking books. If you don't have them already, you should get the Oakland, Western Penn and Winnipeg copies too. That would be a neat feat.
  14. Got home earlier than planned. Here it is. Second highest and second known copy to be graded. That's a very respectable looking 9.0!
  15. I'm glad it found a good home. I bought it from the board's own Dr. Banner, by the way. Small world.
  16. I have to. This thread is the only place in the world where somebody might appreciate how hard it is to find a non-reprint super-hero book from 1972 in high grade. There some other tough Thors from this era. Although they're not as hard to find in 9.4+ as #198. It took me a long time to find 9.6 copies of #195, 197, 204 & 205. I'm still looking for a #206. Iron Man #44 is another oddly tough super-hero book. I can understand it when Millie the Model and Li'l Pals are hard to find in high grade. But it's surprising for a mainstream super-hero book from 1972.
